Chapter 964 Perhaps He Can Help

Beckett and Kimberly froze. How could they possibly know?

Steven glanced at Dennis with evident surprise. How did Dennis, who spent years in Britonia, know about Saskia's identity? Had Saskia visited Britonia before? Had they crossed paths?

The other brothers exchanged puzzled glances, their curiosity piqued as they turned to Dennis. While it made perfect sense for their eldest brother, with his extensive business dealings, to know the Fuller family, how had Dennis come to know her?

Beckett and Kimberly were stunned to discover that Abella's friend was none other than Saskia, the sole heir of the Fuller family.

"I know your father well," Beckett said warmly, his eyes lighting up with recognition. "We did business together several times before his focus shifted overseas, and we lost touch. I remember playing golf with him once—he mentioned you were still in school then, and his voice was filled with such pride and affection. I can hardly believe that little girl has grown into such an elegant young woman."

Beckett regarded her with the fondness reserved for an old friend's child, his expression softening with genuine warmth.

"Two years ago, I saw the news about your father handing over the family business to you," Kimberly added thoughtfully. "It caused quite a stir in the industry."

Saskia smiled gracefully. "Yes, many people doubted my capabilities back then. They questioned whether I could fill my father's shoes."

"Your father's judgment has been thoroughly vindicated," Steven remarked—a rare compliment from someone who seldom praised others, especially upon first meeting.

Since taking over the Medici family empire, Steven had never collaborated with the Fuller family directly, but he'd heard whispers of the young heiress's remarkable achievements. Her bold moves had sent ripples through the industry, and he'd taken notice.

In just two years, she had transformed from a questioned successor into a respected leader, elevating the entire conglomerate to new heights. The business world had watched her journey from skepticism to admiration with growing respect.

He'd also heard she was an adrenaline junkie—a passionate skydiver and a legend on the slopes. Such a spirited young woman would naturally gravitate toward Abella, who shared her adventurous nature.

"You know of me?" Saskia asked, genuinely surprised.

Steven nodded approvingly. "Your reputation precedes you. Keep up the excellent work."

"Steven rarely gives compliments," Abella chimed in with amusement. "That means you've earned serious respect in the industry."

Saskia beamed at the unexpected praise from Steven. "Receiving recognition from you means the world to me. I'll continue striving for excellence."

Dennis stood awkwardly on the sidelines, unable to find an opening in the conversation. Just as he gathered the courage to speak, the group moved toward the living room.

Six distinguished elders rose from the plush sofas, and Saskia's breath caught in her throat. Not only did Abella's grandparents from both sides greet her with warm handshakes and genuine interest, but even Caleb and Bonnie treated her with such affection that she felt like family. Saskia thanked them repeatedly for their heartfelt welcome.

"Next time, don't bring gifts—consider this your second home," Bonnie said with maternal warmth. "Your presence alone brings joy to everyone here. Please visit whenever you can."

She and Caleb excused themselves gracefully, sensing that too many adults might make the young woman feel overwhelmed.

"Stay as long as you'd like, dear. Make yourself completely at home," Caleb added kindly before departing.

"Okay," Saskia replied gratefully.

No sooner had they left than Carl appeared with a steaming cup of tea, followed by Winslow bearing an elegant tray of pastries.

Saskia jumped to her feet, flustered by their attention. "Please, you're too kind. I can manage perfectly well myself."

After a few minutes of gentle fussing and warm conversation, Carl and Winslow also retreated upstairs, leaving Saskia feeling thoroughly welcomed.

Before she could settle back down, Abella's maternal grandparents approached with a fruit platter, insisting she help herself.

"This is far too generous," Saskia protested, touched but embarrassed. "I feel terrible having you wait on me."

"Nonsense, dear. It's our privilege to care for such a lovely young woman," they replied warmly. "Take your time with Abella—it's wonderful to have you here, and we can see how happy your friendship makes her."

"I promise to stay awhile," Saskia assured them, moved by their genuine hospitality.

Sensing the girls might feel more comfortable without adult supervision, Kimberly and Beckett also made their gracious exit, leaving only the brothers and the two young women in the spacious living room.

The atmosphere immediately relaxed without the formal presence of the elders.

"This is Abella's first time bringing a friend home," Steven explained with a slight smile. "Everyone's excitement may have been a bit overwhelming. I hope you weren't too startled by the reception."

"Not at all," Saskia replied earnestly. "I'm simply thrilled for Abella. Seeing her surrounded by such a loving, supportive family—and being welcomed so warmly myself—fills my heart with joy. Abella endured so much hardship before, and now she's finally found where she belongs."

She caught herself before delving into painful memories, redirecting her thoughts. "Your family truly embodies grace and refinement. The contrast with the Wilson family is striking—though of course, Mrs. Wilson was always an exception."

She shot Abella an apologetic glance, knowing how deeply Abella cherished Mrs. Wilson's memory.

Abella smiled back understandingly, appreciating her friend's sensitivity.

The brothers were impressed by Saskia's boldness in criticizing the Wilson family so directly, recognizing the fierce loyalty she felt toward Abella.

"Thank goodness justice prevailed," Saskia continued with satisfaction. "They're finally experiencing the consequences of their cruelty."

"Abella is fortunate to have such a devoted friend who truly understands her journey," Steven observed with genuine appreciation. "As her brother, that brings me great comfort. I understand you've recently returned from abroad—were you developing business interests overseas?"

"Yes, I've been managing a project in Britonia, though progress has been frustratingly slow due to certain... obstacles," Saskia explained diplomatically.

"Obstacles?" Steven's interest was piqued. "Dennis has considerable influence in Britonia. Perhaps he could be of assistance. Tell me, had you two met before tonight?"

"No, we hadn't," Dennis replied, though he'd been aware of her reputation while she remained oblivious to his identity in Britonia.

"Perfect timing for an introduction then," Steven suggested smoothly. "You could be valuable allies in Britonia. I believe you share Dennis's passion for motorsports—particularly racing. My brother founded a drift racing team that's gained quite a reputation there. Have you heard of it?"
