Chapter 1050 Encounter
"Alright, you chill here. I'll go check it out," Henry said, giving her a reassuring pat on the head before heading downstairs, unaware of her worries.
Lola quickly opened an app on her phone, which displayed hundreds of live surveillance feeds from around the estate.
After searching for a while, she spotted several police officers standing outside the estate's main gate, with a police car parked nearby.
Not far from the police car, a group of reporters was waiting eagerly for the latest scoop.
When Henry appeared, the flashbulbs went off like fireworks. Because of the police presence, no one dared to approach him for an interview, but they shouted questions from a distance.
Henry ignored them and calmly addressed the officers at the gate, "What's going on?"
"Mr. Hall, you're involved in two homicide cases. Please come with us to assist in the investigation," The lead officer said, lowering his voice. "Sorry, Mr. Hall, this has blown up, and we have no choice. Please come with us."
"Alright," Henry agreed and got into their car without hesitation.
As the car drove away in front of the crowd, Lola's heart sank. What on earth had happened?
She quickly opened her phone and checked the trending news. The top headline was already #Henry Is Taken Away.#
It turned out that the tampering with the award-winning car had been pinned on Henry.
This was absolutely not something Henry would do. She knew him well enough to be certain he wasn't capable of such a despicable act.
Who was framing him?
Surely, the Hall family wouldn't let this slide, right?
Besides running his own company, Henry was also Aiden's chosen successor.
Henry's grandfather, Aiden Hall, had far more wealth than his father, Nolan Hall.
Moreover, Nolan only had one son. There was no way he would let anything happen to Henry. The valuable department store chain Nolan owned would eventually be passed down to Henry.
Thinking this, Lola felt a bit relieved.
Meanwhile, in a restaurant, Rainey handed the menu iPad to Abella with both hands, excitedly saying, "Finally, I get to treat you to a meal, Abella. Take a look and see what you want to eat. Anything goes!"
Abella smiled softly, "Do you have any dietary restrictions?"
"None at all!" Rainey poured her a glass of lemon water, smiling, "Everything here is delicious. I used to come here often with my classmates. Especially this lemon water, it's really good. Try it, Abella, it's just the right temperature."
Abella took a sip, savoring the refreshing taste. "You have good taste in places."
Rainey beamed at the compliment, "I know a few more great spots. I'll take you next time!"
As long as Phillipe didn't monopolize Abella, she could take her to even more wonderful places!
"Abella, thank you so much for last time. If it weren't for you stepping in, I would have had to write that family rule until my hand broke." Rainey couldn't help but say, "Phillipe is ruthless when it comes to punishment, but you handled him perfectly."
"He doesn't really want to punish you."
"I don't believe that! I've been punished more times than I've had breakfast!"
Abella smiled lightly and handed the iPad back, "Is this enough? Should we add more?"
"Abella, don't worry about saving money. You ordered so little, it's not like I can't afford it!" Rainey quickly pushed the iPad back, "Order as much as you want, don't hold back!"
"We shouldn't order too much and waste food," Abella said with a gentle smile.
"It won't be wasted! Don't underestimate my wallet. Today is all about having fun!"
The door to their private room was open, and as other guests passed by, one of them spotted Rainey and called out in surprise and delight, "Rainey?"
"Cleo?" Rainey saw her and her sister, greeting them happily, "Indigo, are you two here for a meal? Just the two of you?"
"Yes, it's Indigo's birthday today. Our parents are busy, so I'm celebrating with her," Cleo, Rainey's good friend, said. Indigo was her younger sister.
"Hi, Rainey," Indigo greeted politely. She was sixteen and looked very sweet.
"Hi, happy birthday! I hope all your wishes come true," Rainey said, patting her head with a smile.
"Thank you."
"Who are you dining with?" Cleo curiously peeked into Rainey's private room and saw Abella, the real daughter of the Medici family, who had been all over the news recently!
"Let me introduce you. This is Phillipe's fiancée, Abella. Abella, this is my good friend, Cleo," Rainey said happily.
"Hello," Abella greeted with a stunning smile, her natural beauty exuding an ethereal charm.
Cleo was taken aback. Abella was even more beautiful in person than in the photos online!
"Hi, hi..." Cleo stammered, still in shock. This girl was unbelievably gorgeous!
"Abella, it's Indigo's birthday. I'm going to sing her a birthday song and join the celebration for a bit. I'll be back soon!" Rainey said with a smile.
"Alright," Abella replied, her smile as radiant as melting snow in winter or a cool breeze in summer, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and delighted.
As they left the private room, Cleo couldn't help but whisper to Rainey, "Abella is so beautiful! No wonder even someone as aloof as Phillipe fell for her. With her looks alone, I'd be willing to be her servant! If I hadn't seen her in person today, I wouldn't have believed such a stunning girl existed. I suddenly feel like I'm so ordinary!"
"I think Abella is beautiful too. Being around her makes everything feel more pleasant," Rainey laughed, hugging Cleo's arm. "Abella has so many great qualities, I could talk about them for days. But you're also beautiful in my eyes! Your smile is so sweet with those dimples."
Cleo laughed as they walked, chatting, "By the way, why isn't Phillipe here today?"
"I called his assistant and asked him to keep Phillipe busy. I've tried to treat Abella to a meal several times, but he always gets in the way!"
Cleo giggled, "That just shows how much he loves Abella."
"But I love Abella too, and I want to spend more time with her."
Back in the private room, Abella had just finished ordering when she heard someone call her name.
"Abella?"
