Chapter 916 Let Abella Break Up

"Did I wake you?" Kimberly asked, feeling a bit guilty.

"Nah, I wasn't sleeping," Phillipe replied.

"Well, you should get some rest. Tomorrow, you need to bring Abella home. We can talk more then."

"Alright."

Just as Phillipe was about to hang up, he heard Kimberly's voice choke up. "Phillipe, thank you. Thank you for saving Abella..."

If it weren't for Phillipe, Abella might not have made it.

And they would have regretted losing Abella for the rest of their lives.

"It wasn't me who saved her," Phillipe said honestly. "Abella mentioned there was another group at the scene, but she didn't say who they were."

Abella was exhausted, so he had his men bring a motorhome so she could sleep comfortably.

Seeing her deeply asleep, he stepped outside to talk, keeping his voice low to avoid waking her.

"Thank goodness someone saved her. We'll find a way to thank them properly another day. I won't keep you any longer. Get some rest and be careful on the road. Safe travels, I'll be waiting for you both at home."

"Alright, Mrs. Medici, don't worry. Abella is doing well, both physically and mentally. You all need to take care of yourselves too."

"Okay." Kimberly's eyes welled up again. After ending the call, she thought of all the memories and tears that streamed down her face once more.

In a private hospital in Britonia, Dennis struggled to keep his eyes open. His vision blurred, and it took a while for him to recognize his surroundings.

He was in a ward.

"Mr. Medici, you're awake?" Louie noticed him and immediately approached. "The doctor has removed the bullet from your back and bandaged your head. Also..."

"My phone." Dennis hadn't fully regained his usual vigor, but there was something he needed to do immediately to avoid any complications.

Louie was taken aback but quickly handed him the phone.

"Call Sean."

"What?" Louie was surprised that the first person Dennis thought of was an unrelated outsider.

He expected Dennis to ask about Abella's whereabouts.

"Didn't you hear me?" Dennis snapped.

Louie dialed the number and handed the phone over, putting it on speaker. It was past three in the morning, and if he spoke directly to Sean, he might get yelled at, but Dennis was a different story.

After all, who would dare yell at Dennis?

Sean had been having nightmares about Abella ever since he saw her jumping from the club's balcony. He was worried she was in danger.

The phone vibrated on the nightstand for a while before he reached for it.

"It's me." Dennis's voice came through the phone.

Sean, still groggy, was surprised. What could Dennis want at this hour?

"You mentioned that the girl from the Boeing team was your girlfriend? I need you two to break up immediately. You can tell her you have a terminal illness or that you were just hit by a car, and the doctors say you won't make it. Whatever it takes, break up with her right now."

Before Sean could respond, Dennis hung up.

Sean was utterly confused. He stared at the call log, confirming it was indeed Dennis who called.

Last time, when Dennis was chasing Abella, Sean had lied, saying Abella was his girlfriend, to get Dennis to back off.

Dennis had been furious with Abella then, so why was he suddenly so concerned about her now?

And why did he want them to break up?

"The Medici family and the Bourbon family have an arrangement. No matter what, only Phillipe is suitable for Abella," Dennis said.

No one else could compare to Abella!

"Make arrangements. I want to go home."

"What?" Louie was stunned. "Mr. Medici, you just had surgery. The doctor said you need at least two days of observation."

"Abella will be heartbroken after the breakup. I need to be there to comfort her."

Louie couldn't imagine Dennis comforting anyone. It would be a miracle if he didn't make things worse.

Would Abella even want his comfort?

"Why are you still standing there? Get moving!" Dennis shot him a cold look, noticing Louie was becoming less obedient.

Louie quickly said, "I'll get the doctor to check on you. If he says you can be discharged..."

"My health is not for others to decide. If I say I'm fine, I'm fine. Why have you become so indecisive?"

Louie felt like crying, but held back, thinking, 'Mr. Medici, I'm just concerned about your health.'

But Dennis only wanted to get home quickly. Everyone had assumed Phillipe and Lola were a couple. Abella, with her personality, wouldn't try to take Phillipe away. Because she didn't have a boyfriend, so Sean would have been able to deceive her.

Abella couldn't just be with anyone.

If she were to find a boyfriend, he had to be the best!

He hadn't interacted much with Phillipe before, but his looks, demeanor, family background, and abilities were all impressive. Much better than Sean.

"Get this bandage off my head. I don't want Abella to worry when she sees me." Dennis wanted to make the best impression on Abella.

But Louie thought, 'Mr. Medici's impression of Ms. Medici couldn't get any worse. With the bandage, at least she might feel a bit better?'

But he didn't dare say that.

He knew Dennis was in a hurry to get home because no one had given him Abella's phone number. With Easter just around the corner, Abella would be home soon.

Dennis wanted to wait for her at home.

At Long Island Manor, Bonnie checked on Beckett and then returned to the bedroom to talk to Kimberly. "Beckett is asleep. Caleb had the doctor add a sedative to his medication so he could get a good night's sleep. Your medicine should be ready too. It's not too hot now, let me help you drink it."

She sat by the bed and noticed Kimberly's red eyes and tear-streaked face.

"Still thinking about everything?" Bonnie asked, offering her a sip of the medicine. "Lola did a lot of bad things, but at least we discovered her true nature in time. We didn't lose everything. We know who her real parents are, and there's more to the fire from back then."

Bonnie handed Kimberly a tissue to wipe her tears and continued to help her drink the medicine. "With Lola gone, we can focus more on Abella. We won't have to worry about fairness or favoritism anymore."

"I just called Phillipe. He said he and Abella are on their way back," Kimberly said, her voice choked and hoarse.

"That's wonderful. With Easter coming up, it's the perfect time for them to return. Steven and the others will be back too. The house will be lively again. We won't have to worry about Lola's feelings anymore. We can plan the best Easter for Abella and surprise her without any reservations."
