Chapter 729 I Surrender
Henry scratched his head, thinking out loud, "Should I plan a surprise like this for you next time?"
Lola just rolled her eyes, thinking, "Man, you're nothing compared to Phillipe! Not even close!"
She felt like she was settling for less.
Henry suggested a walk through the flower field, but Lola's eyes kept drifting to the hot air balloon. It was tethered, so it couldn't go far, and she could see the couple on it making out.
Total buzzkill!
Seeing her mood tanking, Henry tried to cheer her up, "Hey, Lola, want me to snap a pic of you for Stories?"
"Forget it," Lola sighed. "Feels like mooching off someone else's setup. Just leave me be for a bit."
Henry could tell she was bummed and felt a pang of guilt. If only he had planned better, she wouldn't be so let down.
Up in the hot air balloon, Phillipe's lips were all over Abella's, his hand gently caressing her waist.
Abella melted into his kisses, feeling them trail down her neck.
"Phillipe," she whispered, making him pause, his eyes still full of love. "Hmm?"
"People are watching from below," Abella said, glancing at the stunning lavender field beneath them. "I didn't know lavender could look this amazing from up here."
"You're even more amazing," Phillipe said, hugging her from behind. "If you love it, we can come here all the time."
Abella knew their time was limited. They were both usually swamped and rarely got moments like this. "Some views are perfect just once."
"No matter how many times you want to see it, I'll be right here. If you get bored, we'll find new places. If not, I'll stay until you do."
Lola watched the couple in the balloon, wondering what secrets they were sharing. Their closeness was driving her nuts.
Henry glanced at the couple, then at Lola. He slowly reached for her hand, hoping to calm her down.
Lola felt a wave of disgust but knew she had to play nice to keep Henry hooked and devoted.
Henry was surprised when Lola didn't pull away, his smile growing sweeter. He held her hand gently, not wanting to hurt her.
Abella and Phillipe kissed again in the balloon. Phillipe's lingering touch made Lola insanely jealous!
Even when Abella leaned back, Phillipe kept kissing her!
"Lola, I'm sorry I messed up today and made you upset. From now on, I'll plan every date perfectly. Please don't be mad?" Henry pleaded.
Lola was fuming inside. 'Who's mad at you? Get over yourself!'
She was mad at Phillipe!
If only Phillipe would kiss her with that same passion and gentleness, life would be perfect.
Why was Phillipe so cold and annoyed with her before, but with Abella, he was all lovey-dovey?
Henry could tell she was still pissed and followed her gaze. The couple in the hot air balloon was making out like there was no tomorrow.
Henry wanted to kiss her too, hoping it would calm her down.
But as soon as he leaned in, Lola turned her face away, irritation flashing in her eyes.
Henry knew he messed up and quickly apologized, "Sorry, I got ahead of myself."
"Do you want my body or my heart?" Lola snapped, looking up angrily.
"Of course..." Henry stammered, looking into her eyes, not wanting to lie. "I want both."
He wanted it all.
To Lola, his honesty felt like a trap. "So you've always had dirty thoughts about me?"
Henry was a bit thrown. To him, those thoughts were just part of liking someone.
Seeing her fuming, Henry didn't dare to touch her, so he tried to explain, "I admit I have urges because I like you. I want to kiss you, hug you, hold your hand. I want your body, to have you completely. But more than that, I want your heart. I hope there's a little corner in your heart for me, and I'd be happy."
Lola turned away, silent.
"Sorry, Lola. I'll be more careful next time." Henry gently tugged her sleeve, not daring to hold her hand. "Please don't be mad?"
Lola shook him off and walked ahead.
"Lola." Henry was super uneasy, scared she'd think he was a creep and never talk to him again.
Seeing him anxiously catching up, Lola felt a sudden sense of control over him, which made her mood lift.
"Are you smiling?" Henry caught a fleeting smile at the corner of her mouth, and his tense mood relaxed, a smile spreading across his face. "Have you forgiven me?"
"Without my permission, don't touch me again!" Lola snapped.
Henry was a bit troubled but nodded obediently, not wanting to piss her off again. "Okay."
Lola glanced at his hand, and Henry immediately pulled it back, not even daring to touch her sleeve.
Lola's mood improved even more. This feeling of having someone wrapped around her finger was incredibly satisfying.
"Are you still mad?" Henry cautiously followed her, watching her expression.
"Much better."
"Can I hold your hand again?" Henry really wanted to hold her hand.
Unexpectedly, Lola suddenly extended her hand. "Okay."
This time, Henry couldn't hide his excitement and quickly grabbed her hand, afraid she'd change her mind.
The hot air balloon started to descend.
The couple in the balloon was goofing around.
"So you're ticklish." Abella laughed, tickling Phillipe's waist again.
Phillipe tickled her back, laughing. "You're even more ticklish."
"Stop." Abella couldn't dodge in time and was caught in his arms.
"Say you like me."
Abella stayed silent.
Phillipe tickled her more, both dominant and playful. "Say it, and I'll let you go."
Abella had nowhere to escape in his arms, laughing uncontrollably. "Stop."
She was too weak from laughing to beg for mercy.
Phillipe saw her laughing so brightly and beautifully for the first time, and he was mesmerized.
Abella took the chance to tickle him back. The usually cool Phillipe showed a playful side, laughing. "I surrender."
