Chapter 505 Winston Was Dead

"If you think your illness is dragging down those around you, then get better quickly.

"

"If you feel that your identity brings misfortune to those around you, then find a way to shed that identity.

"

"It's not easy to come into this world, so you must live for yourself at least once. To easily think you're not worthy of living, to bow to fate and surrender? That kind of loss is not cool at all.

"

"Even if you have to leave this world, it shouldn't be in such a disgraceful way.

"

"From now on, you need to take care of your body and have confidence in yourself. Your confidence will also inspire those around you, giving them confidence and courage."

"Abella, thank you." Carol's heartstrings were tugged. Her tone was filled with gratitude. "You know, all these years, no one has ever said such things to me."

She was like a puppet on strings, manipulated and commanded from childhood to adulthood, with every action planned out meticulously.

Various rules and regulations constrained her.

No one had ever told her that she could live for herself.

"Get some rest now." Abella glanced at the time; it was already past three in the morning.

"The bed next to you is available." Carol's voice was even gentler than before. Clearly, she considered Abella a friend. "Raymond has already washed the bedspread and blanket; they're very clean."

"No need, I'll just rest my eyes." Abella sat in a chair, leaning back against the wall in a cool, laid-back posture.

Through a glass wall, Carol could feel Abella's cool aura. Their personalities seemed to match quite well.

After more than an hour, it started to drizzle outside, and a cold wind seeped through the window cracks, bringing a chill.

Abella heard the cautious sound of Carol turning over and opened her eyes, asking softly, "Are you uncomfortable?"

"No, it's... nothing..." Carol gritted her teeth. She hadn't expected the poison in her body to flare up again. For the past year and a half, she had been living in this endless cycle of torment and pain.

"Give me your hand." Abella guessed that the earlier pill was taking effect. Besides pain relief, the pill, combined with her treatment, could expel some of the poison from the body.

Of course, only some of it.

Carol was already trembling with pain. She extended her hand. Abella's slender fingers rested on her wrist, confirming her suspicion.

The poison had been forced into her heart, and it needed an extra push to be expelled.

Suddenly, the sound of something falling reached Abella's ears.

Carol saw her most treasured item fall to the ground and wanted to pick it up but was too weak.

"Did something fall?" Abella asked softly, "Do you need help?"

"No." Carol stretched out her hand to pick it up but ended up collapsing to the floor with a dull thud.

At this point, Abella could no longer sit idly by. She got up and went to the next room.

Carol heard someone knocking on the door and immediately said, "Don't mind me."

Her voice was too soft, completely drowned out by the wind and rain outside. Abella didn't hear it and simply said, "I'm coming in."

Hearing the door open, Carol quickly raised her voice. "Don't come near!"

Abella smirked. "Afraid of implicating me?"

"Everyone who has seen me has met a terrible end and will be hunted down."

She thought this would make Abella back off.

Unexpectedly, Abella nonchalantly smirked. "That sounds quite thrilling."

Abella stepped in and saw Carol on the floor, seemingly trying to reach for a necklace on the ground.

Abella walked over and picked up the necklace.

At that moment, her phone vibrated in her pocket. As she took out her phone, a small silver key and a symbol necklace unexpectedly fell to the ground.

Carol, lying on the ground, saw these two items and was shocked, showing suspicion and vigilance toward Abella's identity.

"Speak," Abella answered the phone, not immediately looking at Carol's face.

"Ms. Medici, the second phase of the P3 project results is out."

"I don't have time to listen now." Abella hung up the phone, picked up the two small items from the ground, and put them back in her pocket before handing Carol's fallen necklace to her.

Carol's pale, cold face came into view, making Abella slightly stunned. It was Nicole.

This face was identical to the one in the photo Winston had shown her, except it was now tinged with a sickly pallor.

Nicole, enduring the pain, quickly attacked Abella. Feeling confused, Abella dodged. She was about to speak when she heard Nicole ask through gritted teeth, "Why do you have those two items?"

Abella was puzzled. "You mean the things I just dropped?"

"Exactly."

The small silver key was a gift Nicole had hidden in Diana's scarf.

The symbol necklace was something she had hidden in Winston's amulet, an important item entrusted to Winston.

She thought, 'Why are these two items in Abella's hands.

Is Abella part of the organization? Sent by those old men?'

Abella instantly understood, smirked, and took out her phone, turning on the recording function to capture the upcoming scene.

"Since you've guessed it, I won't hide it. Yes, Winston is dead."

Nicole's eyes instantly widened in shock as she asked in disbelief, "What did you say?"

She thought, 'Winston is dead?

'The person I care about the most is dead?

'When did this happen??'

The sudden bad news made Nicole heartbroken, with the pain hurting even more than before.

"Winston was an obstacle in your future path. I had to eliminate him for you," Abella added,

Nicole's thin body was already trembling with anger. She gritted her teeth and raised her bloodshot eyes, asking, "What right do you have to make decisions for me? Who allowed you to touch him?"

The last sentence was filled with rage. Anyone could tell she cared deeply about Winston.

Abella thought, 'Not bad. At this rate, the poison in her body will soon be partially expelled.'

Nicole furiously asked, "Was it Mr. Wren? Or someone else? Who gave the order? Whose subordinate are you? Who allowed you to hurt him!!"

"Who it was doesn't matter," Abella said indifferently, "What matters is that Winston is dead, and the obstacle is removed."

"I said, none of you are allowed to hurt him! Are you all deaf, not hearing my words clearly?"

Nicole's angry demeanor bore a striking resemblance to Abella.

Abella smirked, saying with interest, "You are quite different from earlier. I quite liked your gentle side just now. It's just a man; if you return to the organization, we can find you another one."

"You could search the world and never find another like him," Nicole said disdainfully, "Besides, I don't care, and I won't go back with you. Today, I'll kill you first, then send the others to hell to repent to him."
