Chapter 1099 Weakness Found
Abella was out of weapons.
Tony fumbled with the phone, just turning it on, and realized, "Ms. Medici, the phone's got a password. What do I do? I don't know it. How do I unlock it?"
Abella fought off one of the drugged men and shouted, "Try my birthday!"
Abella's birthday was the same as Lola's and Isla's.
This phone was left by Jacob for Lola, so the password was likely Lola's birthday.
Tony entered Abella's birthday, and the phone unlocked successfully. He exclaimed, "Ms. Medici, it worked!"
Just then, he heard Abella cry out in pain and couldn't help but worry, "Ms. Medici, you okay?"
Six drugged men were attacking Phillipe. Abella saw that her parents were alone and, in an effort to protect them, got slashed on her arm and back.
"Don't worry about me," Abella's voice remained as stoic and calm as ever.
But Tony could hear the pain and strength in Abella's voice. He knew she was hurt, and his heart ached with worry.
'Damn, whoever hurt Ms. Medici is going to pay. I'll make sure of it.' He cursed in his head.
Tony quickly searched through the phone and found a strange app he'd never seen before.
But he didn't know the login credentials.
Suddenly, he thought of someone and said, "Abella, hold on. I'll call you back in a bit."
Abella didn't have time to crack the password, but her teacher could!
Abella's hacking skills were taught by Marc!
At this hour, Marc was probably getting ready for bed.
Tony immediately called Marc, "Mr. Murray, help!"
Abella didn't know what Tony was up to, but she saw six drugged men simultaneously thrust their knives at Phillipe and shouted, "Watch out!"
Phillipe dodged the danger with incredible speed and ran to her, looking at her wounds with concern. Without a word, he took off his shirt and quickly bandaged her.
"I'm fine," Abella said, seeing more drugged men approaching. She pushed him away and kicked one of them.
Phillipe finished bandaging her and said, "This isn't working. We need to take down the leader."
They had to capture Lola to stop the drugged men.
But Lola was on the platform, far from them, and they had family to protect.
Just then, Abella's watch rang. It was Tony calling.
Tony's excited voice came through. "Abella, their weak spot is the back of their head. There's a coin-sized chip implanted there. The chip has Lola's voice recorded. As long as Lola gives orders, these drugged men will obey her! Mr. Murray said if we destroy the chip, their 'brains' will be damaged, and they'll stop moving!"
Abella and Phillipe exchanged a glance and immediately picked up knives from the ground, swiftly attacking the drugged men's weak spots.
Quincy and Sam were already beaten and lying on the ground, too exhausted to get up.
They were too tired, covered in wounds. Carl and Winslow were heartbroken, squatting beside them with tears in their eyes.
"Sam," Abella kicked a knife to him and another to Quincy, "Like this."
She quickly stabbed the back of a drugged man's head.
The drugged man fell, motionless, like someone had hit the pause button.
Sam and Quincy got it. The weak spot was the back of the head!
They pushed themselves up and fought back with renewed energy.
Lola didn't expect the drugged men to have such a fatal flaw. Realizing the situation was dire, she immediately shouted, "Retreat!"
T-Rex pressed a button on his remote, and a nearby door slowly opened. Night Hawk carried Lola down the steps, another henchman lifted the wheelchair, and Night Hawk placed Lola in it, quickly heading for the door.
Abella and Phillipe had already taken down several drugged men. Seeing Lola trying to escape, they immediately chased after her.
"Blow this place up," Lola ordered before leaving.
T-Rex pressed the button on his remote.
Urgent beeping echoed in the air.
"Not good, they're gonna blow this place up." Sam looked up and found the source of the sound. He saw bombs installed in the four corners of the church, already counting down from thirty seconds: twenty-nine, twenty-eight, twenty-seven...
"Let's go," Phillipe grabbed Beckett and Abella's hands, ready to leave.
Abella grabbed Kimberly's wrist but realized someone was missing. She turned back, "Scorpion..."
Scorpion was still unconscious, lying on the ground.
"You take them and go."
Phillipe knew she wouldn't leave Scorpion behind, so he handed the others to Abella and ran to carry Scorpion.
"Twenty-two, twenty-one, twenty..."
As the beeping grew more urgent, Abella grabbed Beckett with one hand and Kimberly with the other, running outside. Quincy, finding the elderly too slow, hoisted Carl onto his shoulder.
"Sorry, Mrs. Medici, but I gotta do this," Sam apologized as he carried Winslow and ran, almost tripping over someone.
He looked down and saw it was his friend, Piglet.
Piglet wasn't dead but weakly smiled at Sam. Sam had always teased him for being slow like a burden, and now, even near death, he was still a burden.
"Piglet, you're alive?" Sam realized not only Piglet but Mouse, Egg, and Otto were still alive. He shouted, "Ms. Medici!"
Abella turned and saw several friends still alive. She told her parents, "Run ahead, don't look back, run fast."
"Abella," Beckett and Kimberly were reluctant to leave her.
"Run!" Abella quickly turned back to help save more people.
Beckett and Kimberly, not wanting to hold them back, ran with tears in their eyes.
"Put me down, I can run myself," Carl and Winslow insisted.
Abella grabbed her grandparents' hands and led them out.
Winslow stumbled, and Abella quickly helped her up.
Phillipe carried another friend along with Scorpion, two people on his shoulders.
Quincy carried two, and Sam carried two. He shouted into the air, "Is anyone else alive?"
No one answered.
"Anyone!" Sam shouted again, knowing time was running out.
Among the scattered bodies, one person closed his eyes, afraid to move.
His leg was broken, he couldn't run, and his eyes were so battered by the drugged men that he could barely see.
