Chapter 199 Steven Meets Phillipe

"No matter the college entrance exam results or anything else, Big Brother is there for you," Steven said to Abella as they finished breakfast the next morning.

"No need, Philippe will pick me up," Abella replied.

That guy again? Steven had just returned from his trip abroad and hadn't even had a chance to send his sister off to work for a day!

Philippe was very attentive, always eager to pick her up and drop her off! Steven heard that he had even managed to get his hands on the pink diamond necklace he had his eye on, and had given it to Abella before anyone else could!

Their parents said that Philippe was interested in Abella, treating her warmly and showing concern. But in Steven's eyes, Abella was still young, still in school, and Philippe seemed a bit too clingy. If he did anything out of line... Steven would not let it slide easily!

At that moment, Philippe was waiting outside the main gate. He had a slender figure and handsome features. When he saw Steven and Abella approaching, he straightened his posture and walked toward them.

"Big Brother," Philippe greeted courteously, following Abella's lead.

But Steven's gaze grew slightly colder. "Abella is my sister, so it's only natural to call me Big Brother. Mr. Bourbon, there's no need to be polite. Just call me Mr. Medici."

Can he call himself Big Brother too?

From Steven's eyes, Philippe sensed the animosity. This animosity clearly stemmed from Steven's belief that he had taken his sister away.

"You are Abella's Big Brother, so naturally, you are my Big Brother too," Philippe replied.

"Abella, he seems quite familiar, doesn't he?"

As their eyes clashed, Abella interjected calmly, "I'm running late, so please keep it brief."

"Big Brother seems to have something to say. Wait for me in the car," Philippe said.

He opened the car door for Abella and as she bent down to get in, he placed his hand above her head to protect her. Once she was seated, he bent down again to help her fasten her seatbelt.

This gesture seemed like something he had repeated countless times, and Steven was surprised to see how naturally and intimately they interacted in private. He clenched his fist in frustration, wishing he had the chance to do the same for his sister.

"Talk nicely," Abella warned, looking at both Philippe and Steven before the car door closed.

Philippe responded gently, "Don't worry, if Big Brother is unhappy, I'm willing to let him throw a few punches."

Steven thought to himself, What is this guy talking about? Is he a violent person? Daring to badmouth him in front of his sister!

After Philippe closed the car door, he approached Steven. "Please, Big Brother, go ahead and speak."

Steven sensed Abella's gaze from inside the car and forcefully suppressed his urge to throw a punch. He asked patiently, "You seem to call me Big Brother quite naturally, don't you?"

"Tell me, when did you start dating Abella?"

"I noticed her before she returned to the Medici family, but if you're talking about dating, it was after she came back."

"Have you met before?"

"She saved my grandfather in the hospital. Her medical skills were impressive and left a deep impression."

Steven had heard about this from his mother. He heard that his sister had saved Mr. Bourbon twice, and Mr. Bourbon adored her. He even gave her a crown necklace representing a daughter-in-law!

"What is your parents' attitude toward this?" Steven asked coldly.

"My parents are traveling the world, and they haven't come back yet."

Ever since they handed over the company to Phillipe, they were so happy. They were afraid that Phillipe might change his mind, so they hurriedly flew abroad. Normally, it was them who initiated contact with the Bourbon family. Even the old man didn't have their direct contact information.

"My grandmother is still in a coma."

The only person in the Bourbon family who could make decisions now was Mr. Bourbon.

"Don't worry, big brother. Abella is a good girl. I'll treasure her with my life. You don't have to worry if it's just a momentary infatuation or if I'll change my mind in the future. If I ever do something that hurts Abella, you can come and take my life at any time, whenever you want."

Seeing that he was straightforward, Steven didn't give him a hard time. "Alright, then I'll accept your promise. If you treat Abella well, the Medici family will naturally treat you well. But if you dare to do something that hurts Abella or makes her cry, not only me, but the entire Medici family will seek justice from you!"

"Alright, it's a deal," Phillipe fist-bumped him.

Abella sat in the car and watched from afar. She knew this was a agreement and a commitment between men, and it most likely had something to do with her. It wasn't hard to guess what it was.

"My sister is young and still in school. You need to treat her like a child and not scare her with your actions," Steven worried that Phillipe might be too impatient and do something irreparable.

But Phillipe thought to himself that big brother probably didn't know how wild his sister could be. She was the leader of the A Gang in the Triangle District, skilled in handling guns to a remarkable extent. With her agility, big brother probably wouldn't believe his own eyes if he saw it.

"I will always keep big brother's words in mind."

"This afternoon, I'll take Abella to visit our grandparents. She will ride in my car! You don't need to come and pick her up!" Since he returned to the country, Abella had only ridden in his car once, on the day after the design competition...

Since then, this guy had been monopolizing his sister. Finally, it was his turn today!

"Alright."

It was reasonable for big brother to be close to his own sister.

Steven asked again, "What do you think of Lola?"

Lola was previously engaged to Phillipe. She was raised like a princess, proficient in various arts and educated in the ways of high society. She was renowned as a socialite and heiress.

"I don't have any thoughts about her," Phillipe said to himself.

Steven shared this view too. If there were any feelings, Phillipe would have courted Lola before Abella returned...

However, Phillipe and Lola had rarely met since childhood. People in their circle knew that he prioritized his career and was uninterested in romantic relationships.

Abella seemed to be the first person he openly admitted liking, and the first person he made time for and personally attended to.

Steven knew that Phillipe was close to Blake, and Blake wasn't a fool. If Phillipe had any character flaws, Blake wouldn't have been friends with him for such a long time.

As Steven thought about this, he gazed at Phillipe and said gravely, "I hope I'm not mistaken about you."

"Rest assured, big brother. I will not disappoint your trust and expectations."

As Steven walked toward his car, Phillipe respectfully said, "Take care, big brother."

After Steven left, Phillipe got in the car and gently touched Abella's head. "Sorry for keeping you waiting."

"What did big brother say to you?"

"Oh, nothing much," Phillipe replied with warmth as he glanced at her. "He asked me to take good care of you."

Abella had already guessed as much.

"Is big brother taking you to meet our grandparents this afternoon?" Even though Phillipe couldn't go, he still wanted to prepare an extra gift to represent his intentions.
