Chapter 1030 Enemies Meet
Lola was so mad her eyes were practically popping out of her head.
"If it weren't for your stupidity, you'd be the one chilling on the Medici Manor sofa with Abella right now, living the high life. If I were you, I would've made friends with Abella the second she came back. Not for any other reason, but because she's better than me and worth learning from."
Lola sneered. "She won't be friends with anyone. You don't know her."
"Really?" Katya clearly didn't buy it and smirked. "In yesterday's livestream, her friends filled several tables. Looks like you're the only one who can't admit someone is better than you, who can't stand seeing someone excel, and who refuses to befriend the strong."
"You!" Lola was instantly enraged.
Just then, a mocking voice came from behind.
"Mrs. Gray, why waste your time talking to a brick wall?"
Lola had a bad feeling as soon as she heard that voice.
Elsa and a group of friends, loaded down with shopping bags, walked over. When they saw Lola, they all had mocking smiles.
"Elsa, you're out shopping too?" Katya turned around and softened her tone.
"Yeah, had to pick up a little something for Abella," Elsa said, looking down at Lola with a sneer. "How did the once-glamorous socialite end up like this?"
Lola turned her face away, not wanting to engage.
"What's the matter? Did you break a leg? Become disabled? No servants to accompany you?" Elsa's words prompted her friends to chime in.
"Elsa, you know she was kicked out by the Medici family. Where would she get servants?"
"She probably has trouble even affording food. Didn't you say her biological parents were a butler and a maid?"
"These poor people are so bold nowadays, doing anything dirty to give their daughters a better life."
"Look at her, coming to the mall without buying a thing. Probably just reminiscing about her days as a rich girl, spending money like water."
"Elsa, since she used to be your sister, why don't you help her out? Give her some money, or how will she survive?"
Elsa pretended to be sympathetic. "Alright, since you all insist."
She opened her wallet, took out over a thousand dollars, and threw it in Lola's face.
Lola instinctively swatted the money away, and the bills scattered on the ground.
"Elsa, she's used to being a rich girl. She doesn't care about this money."
"She probably wants jewelry, clothes, and purses."
"She still wants to be a rich girl."
"How about this? Since Elsa used to be your family, I'll reluctantly give you a designer scarf I just bought. It's worth thousands of dollars. All you have to do is kneel and thank Elsa properly."
The friends burst into laughter.
Lola couldn't swallow her anger. She pressed the button on her wheelchair, intending to leave.
But the next second, Elsa kicked her wheelchair, pushing her back to where she started.
"My friends and I are trying to help you out of kindness. The least you could do is show some gratitude instead of just leaving. Isn't that a bit rude?"
Lola knew she was at their mercy, sitting in her wheelchair like a fish on a chopping block. She gritted her teeth. "Move."
"She's angry, hahaha." The group blocked her way, enjoying her frustration.
"Elsa, we're sincerely trying to help Lola, but she doesn't seem to appreciate it."
"I remember Mrs. Medici saying yesterday that she's an ungrateful wretch. No matter how well you treat her, it's a waste of effort."
"Elsa, didn't you get seriously hurt because of her?"
"Yeah, she was behind it, and you just recovered enough to go out."
"She had someone attack you."
Lola sensed danger and pressed the button on her wheelchair again, trying to escape, but Elsa kicked her back once more.
"Elsa, what do you want?" Lola was completely enraged.
"Speaking of which, I never got a chance to say a proper goodbye when you were kicked out."
Lola started to feel scared.
"God must have heard your wish, Elsa, giving you this chance today. Since she can't move well, we'll help you out. You two can have a good chat."
"Yeah, you must have a lot to catch up on."
Elsa's friends held Lola's hands, opened the nearby stairwell door, and pushed her wheelchair inside.
"What are you doing? This is a mall... Elsa! You little bitches, how dare you..." Lola's angry screams echoed in the stairwell.
Briar returned with the money and found Lola missing. She urgently asked Katya, "Where's Ms. Flores?"
Katya, sitting on an art chair by the elevator playing on her phone, stood up gracefully, took the money from Briar, and said expressionlessly, "She ran into some old friends and went to the stairwell to catch up."
Briar sensed something was wrong and quickly opened the stairwell door.
She saw Lola and her wheelchair pushed down the stairs, the wheelchair pinning her down. Lola couldn't get up and was crying.
The so-called old friends had already left.
Lola was alone in the stairwell!
"Ms. Flores." Briar rushed down to help her.
Pushing the wheelchair aside, she saw Lola covered in trash, with an empty garbage can nearby. The air was filled with a foul smell.
Did someone dump trash on her?
Briar tried to help her up, but Lola screamed in pain no matter where she touched.
Her face was bruised, her mouth bleeding, and her chin had a reopened wound.
Her clothes were covered in footprints.
There was blood on each step, and Briar couldn't tell where it was coming from.
Looking at Lola's hair, it seemed wet, with blood trickling down.
Terrified, Briar took out her phone and called Henry. "Mr. Hall, something terrible has happened. Ms. Flores is badly hurt. Please come quickly."
