Chapter 309 Funeral

As for Isla, the video of her sleeping with Kai had already gone viral online.

Her innocent image was shattered, and even her engagement banquet was ruined.

In this lifetime, forget about marrying into a wealthy family; even entering an ordinary family would be difficult. After all, ordinary men wouldn't want a girl with a face filled with scandals, burdened with huge debts, and full of schemes.

The mouths of the Johnson family, over six hundred of them, had already molded her into a shameless, venomous, and deeply cunning villain.

After finishing dinner, Abella returned to her room and instructed her subordinates to prepare everything needed for the funeral.

"Oh, by the way, boss, Isla called the police. She said you caused her harm."

"Some videos were posted online, seriously damaging her reputation," Abella said dismissively. "Ignore her for now. After the police investigate the matter thoroughly, we can sue her for defamation."

Her subordinates were surprised that their boss, ever since discovering that Mr. Wilson wasn't Barbara's biological son, had shown no mercy in dealing with these individuals from the Wilson family.

After Isla reported it to the police, she found out that the source of the video was actually uploaded to a website a year ago, and the person responsible was Kai, someone she had been involved with, unrelated to Abella!

At that time, Isla was raised by a janitor and was bullied and ostracized by many classmates.

Coincidentally, Kai was interested in her, and with his wealthy background, he was an unattainable presence for her back then.

In order to keep a tight grip on this boy, she willingly gave herself to him.

Knowing Kai's twisted desires and his love for thrills, she even let him film their activities to cater to his inclinations.

But she never imagined that these videos would become stumbling blocks on her path to a prominent family!

If it weren't for the Johnson family discovering these things, she would have already become their future daughter-in-law. Even if her parents got into trouble, the Johnson family would lend a hand.

It's all that bastard Kai's fault!

Thinking this, Isla removed Kai from her WhatsApp block list and unleashed a barrage of insults.

Kai nonchalantly retorted with a voice message, "You agreed to it back then, and I still have our chat records where you said that whatever I did was fine."

"You shameless person!!" Isla exploded with anger. After a while, she heard that Abella was suing her for defamation.

The next morning Abella woke up early. As the sole person responsible for the funeral, she first went to the hospital to have her grandmother's body transported to the Wilson family's cemetery. She then had the undertaker prepare her grandmother's body, dressing her in burial robes.

She quietly accompanied her grandmother throughout, until the final preparations were done outside.

At exactly nine o'clock in the morning, many close friends and relatives that Grandma had made during her lifetime began to arrive in pairs. They were all dressed in black, their faces filled with grief.

Ten rows of flower wreaths they brought were arranged neatly, guarding the entire cemetery like ten long dragons.

Some people started crying even before stepping foot into the cemetery, and some elderly people were even unable to walk due to the intensity of their sorrow.

Abella recognized an elderly woman who was crying uncontrollably and sitting on the ground. It was Sarah, Grandma's closest friend when she was alive.

Abella stepped forward and supported her, saying, "Sarah, take care of yourself."

Even though she was the one in the most pain, as the sole person responsible for the funeral, she had to comfort the guests from all directions.

"Oh, Abella, how could something like this happen? Just a while ago, Barbara called me and said that she would come visit me after her surgery and recovery." Sarah cried uncontrollably, "How could things turn out this way."

"Sarah, the ground is cold. You should get up first," Abella said several times, trying to help her up, but she was crying too sorrowfully, unable to stand up.

As Abella held Sarah’s wrist, she unintentionally discovered that Sarah's body was weak, evident from her weak pulse.

"Grandma said that Grandpa came to pick her up. She said she has no regrets in this lifetime."

Sarah continued to sit on the ground, sobbing. Abella gently consoled her until her emotions improved, then helped her up and seated her on a nearby chair.

The entire scene was decorated in black and white, creating a solemn atmosphere. Many mourners noticed that Abella had matured and was receiving guests with a mature and dignified demeanor, despite the sadness in her eyes. She seemed capable of handling things on her own.

Although she was only eighteen, she was the person who could bring the most comfort to the somber gathering,

After a while, Mr. Walker arrived. Not seeing him for a day, his hair had turned completely white, and he appeared noticeably older. He wore a sorrowful expression, with no light left in his eyes. Supported by an assistant, he walked unsteadily with a cane, resembling a walking corpse.

Abella understood the depth of his grief and linked her arm with his. He nodded in response and was assisted inside.

By ten o'clock, everyone had arrived. Abella first made a startling announced that Mr. Wilson was not Barbara's biological son, which shocked the guests.

Abella had two reasons for making this announcement. Firstly, she wanted her grandmother to know from beyond the grave that it wasn't because Grandma hadn't raised her well but due to other reasons. The main reason being that Mr. Wilson was not her biological son and naturally didn't possess any of the traits of the Wilson family.

Secondly, she wanted all relatives and friends of the Wilson family to know that they should no longer treat Mr. Wilson as a member of the Wilson family.

Next, Abella unveiled the cruel treatment her grandmother had suffered from Mrs. Wilson, which led to her death. She briefly described the examples of how the Wilson couple persecuted the people around Grandma, sparking shocked reactions from the entire audience.

Some of these guests had attended yesterday's engagement banquet and had seen the video of Mrs. Wilson mistreating Grandma. They recounted the incident to their friends and relatives.
Each person listened; their faces filled with indignation!

Lastly, Abella briefly spoke about Grandma's life, and then, in front of everyone, she had someone place Grandma in the coffin with a mattress, preparing for the final sealing.

Sobs could be heard at the scene, conveying a sense of reluctance. As they watched the coffin being sealed, the sobbing grew louder, gradually turning into mournful wailing.

Sarah was deeply moved and nearly fainted several times.

Leading the entire gathering, Abella watched as the coffin was lifted and placed into the grave.

She stepped forward, took a handful of soil, and scattered it over the coffin. In her heart, she said lovingly, "Grandma, rest assured as you go, and may there be peace ahead.”

"Life, I will be strong."

The crying behind Abella grew louder and louder as the four burial workers shoveled dirt and buried the coffin. In Abella's mind, scenes of the time spent with her grandmother replayed, all of them filled with happy moments.

Despite her overwhelming sadness, not a single tear fell from her eyes.

After the tombstone was erected, Abella knelt down, and all the guests bowed their heads in unison, respectfully bidding farewell to Grandma with three deep bows.
