Chapter 482 Discovering Issues

Abella whispered, "As long as you tell us everything you know, I believe we can soon find out Nicole's whereabouts."
At this, Abella paused and added, "Nicole lied to you, saying she found her biological parents and wanted to live abroad with them, but we checked the flight records for the past year, and there was no record of her leaving the country."
Upon hearing this, the couple were stunned.
"I always said Nicole isn't heartless; she must be in trouble." Diana had been with Nicole for many years, and they had a deep connection.
Since Nicole mentioned finding her biological parents and wanting to leave them, Diana felt something was amiss and grew anxious.
Seeing Diana wiping her tears silently, Nicole's father's voice choked up. "I hope she really found her biological parents; I don't want her to be in danger."
If possible, they would prefer Nicole to live happily for the rest of her life, even if they could never see her again.
"I heard from the neighbors that a few months ago, a group of people came to your house and walked around the yard even in the rain." Abella looked at them.
After that day, the Nicole family the couple opened their door for only four or five days. When the neighbors finally saw them and asked what happened, they just said relatives had visited without going into details.
"That time..." Nicole's father hesitated, unsure if he should reveal what happened.
"Tell them they are good people who genuinely want to help us," Diana encouraged.
Finally, Nicole's father decided to reveal everything, "It was a rainy night; I was half asleep when I heard noises coming from Nicole's room. At first, I thought I was mistaken, but then Diana heard it too."
"Both of us thought Nicole had returned, so we excitedly got up to check. The sound of the storm outside was so loud, it made us anxious."
"Nicole's door wasn't closed properly, and I saw two or three people sneaking around and rummaging through the room."
"At that moment, I thought burglars had entered the house. I grabbed Diana's hand and quietly went downstairs, intending to seek help from the neighbors."
"Unexpectedly, there were also several people rummaging through the living room on the ground floor. When we went down, we walked into a trap. They noticed us, rushed over, and in the struggle, Diana and I got injured."
"Later, we managed to escape to the yard, but we were caught again and knocked unconscious."
Abella understood. It was no wonder there were so many bloodstains on the living room floor and some in the yard. It confirmed her suspicion that Nicole's parents were in danger.
"When we woke up, we found our hands and feet tied, and several people were guarding us in the living room. They all wore black hoods and clothes, making it hard to see their faces clearly."
"They repeatedly asked the same question thatwhere is Nicole? But we had no idea about Nicole's whereabouts."
"At first, we thought Nicole had caught the attention of the malevolent Force because she was young and beautiful, but as time went on, we realized things were more complicated."
Upon hearing this, Abella asked, "Were you held captive for a few days?"
"Three days." Nicole’s father replied truthfully.
"During that time, besides asking about Nicole, did they mention anything else?"
"No," Nicole's father recalled, "No matter what we asked, they remained silent. They also checked our chat records on our phones, seemingly wanting to know if we had any private contact with Nicole. They even took pictures of our injuries to show Nicole. We thought they might be using us as bait to force Nicole to show up."
"Did Nicole eventually appear?" Abella inquired.
"No, ever since she found her biological parents, she never replied to our messages again. We were worried she might see our injuries and foolishly rush back, but thankfully she didn't."
Nicole's father sighed in relief, willing to face danger himself rather than have Nicole in harm's way.
"They left after three days?"
"They seemed to receive an important call, and before leaving, they didn't untie us. We didn't eat anything during those three days. Although our wounds weren't deep, we hadn't bandaged them, and both of us had a fever. It took us two more days at home to recover."
Abella understood now why the neighbors mentioned that Nicole's parents had not opened the door for four or five days.
"When they left, did they leave any message?" Abella asked again.
"They just warned us, saying if we didn't want anything to happen to Nicole, we should keep quiet and not say anything we shouldn't; otherwise, the whole village would suffer."
Winston heard this and asked, "Were those people highly skilled like they had special training?"
Nicole's father nodded. "They didn't seem like ordinary people."
Initially, the couple thought these individuals were just street thugs, but as they observed them more closely, they realized they were not your average petty criminals.
"So you suspected Nicole was in danger and wanted to find her?" Abella asked.
"Yes," Nicole's father nodded. "But what we didn't expect was that it's been almost three months in Florida, and we haven't heard anything, and we've noticed some strange things."
"What things?" Abella and Winston asked simultaneously.
"When we worked as tutors to earn some money, we always felt like someone had been moving things around in our house."
Upon hearing this, Abella immediately sensed trouble. "Are you saying someone has been here?"
"It seems like more than once," Nicole's father continued, "I remember one time when I had neatly arranged all the daily items, but the next day, they were rearranged differently, with subtle differences, like the position of the tissue box and the vase."
"Stop there," Abella stood up abruptly, turned off all the lights in the house, took out a detector from her bag, and scanned the living room. She discovered six cameras and four bugs. They had likely been recorded since they entered the room a moment ago.
Abella took action, removing all the hidden cameras in the wall sockets and the micro cameras in the screw holes.
Diana was terrified, hiding in her husband's arms, watching Abella 's series of actions in disbelief.
She never imagined that seemingly inconspicuous items were actually cameras monitoring their every move.
Nicole's father suddenly realized that the two were not ordinary people. After all, they carried detection equipment with them at all times, and Abella 's calm and wise demeanor didn't resemble that of a typical high school student!
Who were they really? What kind of identity did they have?
Seeing the girl dismantle and destroy everything, Diana couldn't help but ask, "Child, are you sure these things are cameras and bugs?"
