Chapter 1059 Like Strangers
Everyone turned to see Lola.
Her eyes were brimming with tears, and she instinctively called out, "Grandpa, Grandma."
Her voice was thick with emotion.
Carl and Winslow saw her leaning against the hospital bed, her face pale, her hands and feet wrapped in bandages. A complex expression flickered in their eyes.
But there was no pity in that look.
Tears streamed down Lola's face as she looked at her parents from the past, her voice hoarse and trembling, "Dad, Mom."
Beckett and Kimberly turned away, as if they hadn't seen her, not saying a word, treating her like a stranger.
Lola's tears fell again as she looked at her brothers, feeling wronged and pitiful, she tentatively called out, "Steven."
Steven's face remained indifferent, his voice as calm as ever, "You're not part of the Medici family anymore, and I'm not your brother."
Lola felt a sharp pain in her heart, her tears falling as she looked at Ethan, calling out, "Ethan."
"Ms. Flores, it's more appropriate to call me Mr. Medici."
"Winston." Lola's tears flowed even more.
Winston coldly replied, "I only have one sister, Abella."
"De..." Lola's "Dennis" was cut off by Dennis's displeased look, and she didn't dare to call out again. She turned to Blake.
"Don't bother. We have nothing to do with each other anymore." Blake's tone was equally cold.
Her brothers' words completely shattered her. Her heart ached so much it felt like it was being torn apart, making it hard for her to breathe.
Briar, seeing Lola's injured state, couldn't bear it and quickly said, "Ms. Flores has been mysteriously vomiting blood since last night, and her heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys are all in pain. We've called many doctors, but none could help..."
"We should go check out the equipment up front," Beckett said, supporting his father Carl, as if he hadn't heard her, and started to walk away.
Kimberly also supported Winslow, and no one wanted to stay any longer.
"I'll show you the equipment," Herbert said, preparing to leave.
"Please, Ms. Medici, save Ms. Flores!" Briar suddenly knelt in front of Abella, shocking everyone.
Over time, Briar had developed feelings for Lola. She knew Henry couldn't live without Lola. Besides, Lola hadn't done anything excessive to her and Celestia.
So, she didn't want Lola to die.
"What does her life or death have to do with Abella?" Dennis said, exuding displeasure. "It's already good enough we didn't kill her."
"Do you know how much she hurt Abella in the past?" Blake couldn't understand why this servant was pleading for Lola, especially when Lola's character had been exposed online.
"Abella won't save her," Steven stated.
"Even if she agreed, we wouldn't let her," Winston added.
"She's part of the Hall family now. The Hall family's matters should be handled by themselves," Ethan said, then turned to Abella, speaking gently, "Let's go."
"Ms. Flores is going to die..." Briar suddenly cried out, "The doctors said she won't last three days at this rate. Ms. Medici, please, save her!"
Lola was stunned, not knowing this. Henry hadn't told her.
What kind of illness did she have that was so severe?
Why did she have less than three days to live?
Could it be that Abella poisoned her?
Thinking this, Lola found it possible!
Abella knew about medicine and might have poisoned her slowly, bribing someone to mix it into her food.
In the estate, she had no enemies. It was likely that Abella had someone poison her before she arrived at the estate.
Even if Abella hadn't bribed anyone, she had many subordinates to command, so Abella could have harmed her.
Realizing this possibility, Lola was furious.
She couldn't believe Abella was so vicious, wanting to kill her!
"Ms. Medici, please, have mercy, save Ms. Flores. We really have no other way!" Briar couldn't bear to watch Lola die and cried, "Please save her."
But seeing Briar kneeling and pleading, Lola suddenly realized that Abella might have poisoned her to make her kneel before the Medici family, begging like a lapdog for treatment.
Thinking this, she became even angrier!
'That damned Abella, so malicious, rotten to the core!' Lola cursed in her head.
Abella caught the flash of hatred in Lola's eyes and knew she must have misunderstood something.
But she didn't bother to explain.
"Ms. Medici, please, please save Ms. Flores."
"You're asking the wrong person," Abella said indifferently, then walked away.
The other brothers quickly followed.
Carl and Winslow didn't spare Lola a glance, and Beckett and Kimberly also walked away without hesitation.
Even Herbert wanted to leave quickly.
Lola's heart was completely broken. In her sorrow and anger, she suddenly coughed up blood.
She never expected that her former family, upon hearing about her condition, wouldn't even blink.
Not a word of concern, not a trace of pity.
Her tears fell, filled with despair.
"Ms. Flores..." Briar was terrified and quickly pressed the call button on the wall.
The Medicis' cold departure was witnessed by Henry, who stood at the door with breakfast in hand, unable to ask them to save Lola.
He knew Lola had committed unforgivable mistakes, and the Medicis would never save her.
Hearing Briar's urgent voice from the ward, Henry rushed in.
The white sheets were stained with blood.
Henry's heart ached terribly.
"I'm really sorry, I didn't know she was in our hospital," Herbert apologized. If he had known Lola was here, he wouldn't have brought the Medicis to this floor.
"Mr. Clark, you're very busy. It's normal for your staff not to report every little thing to you. It's okay, don't worry about it. Just treat her like any other patient in the hospital, no different from the others. Don't feel troubled by the Medici family's private matters," Kimberly said understandingly.
"Thank you, Mrs. Medici," Herbert said gratefully, then continued to lead them on the tour.
