Chapter 921 Come Again at Easter

The doctor gave them injections, and it took a while for them to wake up.

"Abella, Abella, she... she..." David was agitated as soon as he woke up.

Kimberly quickly reassured him, "She's fine, really. Phillipe said she wasn't hurt. She'll be home soon."

Tears streamed down David's face. He never imagined Lola could be so heartless, after everything their family had done for her.

"Dad, don't cry. I've already given Lola a good lesson. She's locked in the basement now."

"I need to see her," David insisted, trying to get up.

"Why do you want to see her? You're in no condition."

"I need to ask her myself why she did this, why she betrayed our family's love and trust." David was furious, slamming the armrest of the sofa, tears flowing uncontrollably.

Seeing David so upset at his age made Kimberly feel even more sorrowful and guilty.

"I'll go too." Vanessa, looking devastated, struggled to stand, her tears silently falling. Unlike David's angry outburst, her grief was quiet and profound.

Kimberly knew there was no point in stopping them, so she helped them to the basement door.

She didn't want to go in, didn't want to see that tear-streaked face again.

So, David and Vanessa pushed open the basement door and went inside.

Caleb stood guard outside, just in case.

Meanwhile, Abella's plane landed on the Long Island Manor helipad.

Hearing the news from the staff, Kimberly rushed out, running towards the plane.

Phillipe had wrapped Abella in a coat and scarf, holding her hand as they descended the stairs. From a distance, they saw Kimberly running towards them.

"Abella." Kimberly was running so fast, desperate to reach Abella.

The ground was wet from a recent snowfall, and she nearly slipped several times.

"Mom, slow down." Abella quickened her pace towards her, her figure tall and slender.

"Abella, you're finally back." Kimberly hugged her tightly. If it weren't for the timely rescue, they might never have seen each other again.

"Mrs. Medici, she's injured," Phillipe reminded, seeing Kimberly's tight embrace.

"Injured?" Kimberly quickly let go, examining Abella. "Where are you hurt?"

She turned to Phillipe, "Didn't you say she was fine, not hurt?"

"I told him not to say anything." Abella had specifically instructed Phillipe not to reveal her injuries to her family.

"You silly girl, not telling me you're hurt. Let's get inside, I'll have the doctor take a look."

Though she knew Abella was a skilled doctor, even doctors need help sometimes. She held Abella's arm, eager to get her inside quickly.

"Mrs. Medici..." Phillipe spoke again.

Kimberly seemed to realize something, instinctively letting go and looking at the arm she had just held. "Is it here? This spot?"

"It's nothing," Abella said calmly. "It's already bandaged."

"Did I hurt you just now? I hope the wound didn't reopen. Let's get inside, I'll have the doctor check you over..." Kimberly hurriedly led her inside.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Caleb, and Aunt Bonnie are all here?" Abella noticed two planes on the helipad, both belonging to Caleb.

'But why two? Did Uncle Caleb, Aunt Bonnie, and Grandparents come separately? Why?' Abella thought.

"Yeah, they're all here, waiting to see you..."

As Kimberly and Abella entered the main house, they ran into Bonnie, who immediately gave Abella a gentle hug.

"Glad you're back safe." She patted Abella's head and looked at Phillipe. "You made it?"

"Aunt Bonnie." Phillipe greeted her with the respect of a younger family member.

Bonnie smiled and nodded. "Stay for dinner tonight. The whole family is here, it'll be lively."

"With everything that's happened, I'm sure everyone has a lot to discuss with Abella. I'll come back for Easter dinner."

"Alright." Bonnie smiled. "But have a cup of hot tea before you go. Someone, bring tea."

A servant quickly brought two cups of hot tea, placing one in front of Phillipe and one in front of Abella.

Kimberly held Abella's hand, asking about her well-being, and soon tears of concern welled up again.

Abella hadn't told them about Lola, Jacob, and Maria's true nature before. Firstly, there wasn't enough evidence. Secondly, the situation hadn't been severe enough to make a lasting impact, not enough to make the family completely cut ties with Lola.

And thirdly, she feared her parents would be as heartbroken as they were now, after raising Lola for eighteen years.

"It's my fault..." Kimberly was about to hug Abella and cry when she remembered something. "Right, call the doctor to check on Abella, she's injured."

Several doctors approached with medical kits, and everyone gathered around Abella.

Today, she wore a loose sweater, and rolling up the sleeve revealed a white bandage on her arm.

Kimberly's earlier tight hug had likely reopened the wound, staining the bandage with blood.

Tears welled up in Kimberly's eyes again. "It's all my fault..."

Abella knew her mother had endured too many emotional blows recently, making her overly sensitive. She gently reassured her, "It's okay, it doesn't hurt at all."

Hearing her considerate words, Kimberly's tears flowed again.

Abella was so thoughtful, so lovable. Compared to her, Lola was just ungrateful.

Some people were just ungrateful, no matter how well they were treated them.

But Abella was different. She would repay kindness tenfold.

Her thoughtfulness was heart-wrenching.

The doctors carefully treated Abella's wound and re-bandaged it. Abella observed their work, feeling helpless.

After the bandaging, Kimberly and Bonnie asked Abella about the kidnapping and some past events.

Seeing they had much to discuss, Phillipe excused himself.

"I'll walk you out," Abella said.

Phillipe knew she wanted to avoid more questions about Triangle City that might upset her family.

So he said, "Alright. Mrs. Medici, Aunt Bonnie, I'll take my leave now."

"Phillipe, remember to come for Easter dinner." Kimberly warmly invited. "I'll make sure there's a place for you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Medici." Phillipe nodded to Bonnie, then picked up Abella's coat from the sofa and draped it over her, ensuring she wouldn't catch a chill outside.
