Chapter 563 Which bastard did this?

Since Phillipe wasn't around, Josie and Bella ate to their heart's content.

"This is so good. Is the outside wrapped in cheese? Smells amazing," Bella said, always sharing tasty food with Abella.

Josie also shared delicious food with Abella. "Too bad Mira isn't here. She's such a foodie."

"No worries, we'll pack some for her," Abella said.

"Abella, you're the best! But are we being tacky? Will the manager think we're cheap?"

They were eating a lot and wanted to pack some to go.

"What's wrong with sharing good food with friends?" Abella said casually. "Anything else you like? I'll have them pack it too."

"Abella, you're the best."

They ate until they were full, and the manager even had the kitchen prepare some dishes for them to take away.

A helicopter would be too flashy, so Phillipe arranged for a car to wait at the resort entrance.

Knowing Abella was taking her classmates back, Phillipe reluctantly cupped her face. "Let me know when you're done with school stuff, and I'll come get you."

"Okay," Abella replied.

"The Umbra League will probably make more moves later, so be careful," Phillipe said, looking concerned. "If there's any danger, contact me like you did today."

"Got it."

"Try not to get hurt," Phillipe said, still holding her face. "Take care of your wounds, don't let them get wet, and I'll change your bandages later."

Abella laughed at his endless nagging.

Phillipe noticed and smiled. "Am I being too naggy?"

"No."

Phillipe then kissed her gently. "Alright, you should go now."

Abella finally got into the car.

Phillipe personally closed the car door and leaned in. "Send me a message or call me when you arrive."

"Okay."

Abella knew he had to deal with the people they caught today, so she signaled him to go ahead.

"Mr. Bourbon, should I head out now?" The driver had tried to step on the gas several times but wasn't sure if Phillipe was done with his instructions.

"Make sure to get them back safely," Phillipe instructed. "Drive slowly."

"Yes, Mr. Bourbon."

Abella waved at him until he disappeared in the distance. Then Josie and Bella started teasing, "Abella, Phillipe really cares about you. It's such a short trip, and he had so many instructions. I think the driver felt the pressure too. Make sure to call him when we get back."

Half an hour later, Abella had just arrived at school when she got a call from Rodolfo. "Abella, where are you? I have a major breakthrough on Nicole's antidote."

Rodolfo's arrogant voice came through the phone. "You thought you could stump me? Not a chance!"

Abella couldn't help but laugh. "I'll be there soon."

She had just hung up when she saw Samuel, Arthur, and Joanna running towards them.

"Abella," Samuel and Arthur greeted her, out of breath as if they had rushed over.

Abella nodded.

Samuel's eyes landed on Josie's face. "What happened to your face? Who hit you?"

"I accidentally hurt myself."

"You're lying. That's clearly from a punch. Who did this?" Samuel touched Josie's wound, making her wince.

"Who did this?" Samuel looked furious, ready to stand up for Josie.

Abella saw his reaction and knew he had feelings for Josie. She said gently, "Those people have already been dealt with by my team."

"Why did they target Josie?"

"Why do you have so many questions? It's annoying." Josie stomped her foot and walked ahead.

"I—" Samuel followed her. "You got beaten up, and I can't even ask? What are you carrying? Let me take it."

Josie refused, but Samuel took it from her. "You're injured and still packing so much food. You're such a foodie."

"You're the foodie. This is for Mira."

"Did you have dinner?"

"Yes, Abella treated us to a feast!"

"Was it good? Can I have some?" Samuel wanted a taste.

"No, this is all for Mira."

They continued bickering while Joanna listened to Bella recount the kidnapping, covering her mouth in shock.

Only Arthur stayed by Abella's side. "Abella, what exactly happened?"

"Someone's been causing me trouble lately. They couldn't find me, so they kidnapped Josie and Bella. Tell Samuel to be careful. If possible, help me keep an eye on Josie and Mira, and protect them."

"Who dares to mess with you?" Arthur rolled up his sleeves. "Abella, tell me who they are, and I'll deal with them."

"They're not ordinary people," Abella said, not wanting to elaborate. "Just be careful. If anything seems off, call me."

"What about you, Abella?"

"I can take care of myself."

"Alright, Samuel and I will protect Josie and Mira. You be careful too."

"I'm heading to the lab."

Seeing the two still bickering and Bella still chatting, Abella told Arthur and headed to the lab.

Arthur didn't understand why Abella spent so much time in the lab, but he had heard she led a team to Innovation University for a competition today. Her surgical and suturing skills had impressed all the judges.

She probably learned those skills in the lab.

As soon as Abella opened the lab door, she heard Rodolfo's excited voice. "Abella, come here quickly. Look, the upgraded detox pill is reacting with the toxic blood. See, the toxin is disappearing bit by bit."

Abella approached the instrument and saw the two substances reacting, with the toxin indeed disappearing.

"This is the result of several days of research. The upgraded detox pill meets this toxin like a rainstorm meeting fire. Watch, the fire is about to be extinguished," Rodolfo said excitedly, but then his smile froze.
