Chapter 1093 Medicine Man
Abella realized she had been duped. "Where are you?"
"Already losing your cool? I'll tell you, Eastgate Heritage Manor isn't the final stop. But if you don't go, I'll start killing your bodyguards, starting with the youngest one."
"I'll be there in twenty minutes," Abella snapped, hanging up.
Lola couldn't have been more thrilled. The rush of revenge was intoxicating.
The thought of Abella running around like a headless chicken, clueless and obedient, made Lola's heart sing with joy.
Just then, her private phone buzzed with a text from her service provider. She frowned and immediately called back, her voice cautious. "Why are you only contacting me now?"
"There were a lot of people at the airport that night, all looking for me. Some even boarded the flight to Solstice, so I didn't get on. I've been laying low here, waiting for things to calm down before reaching out. Everything okay on your end?" Scorpion's voice was as cold and emotionless as ever.
"I'm fine, really good," Lola laughed. "Since you're available, come help me out. I'll send you the address."
Lola trusted Scorpion completely. Her biological father, Jacob, had left her a phone with a message saying he had three godsons: Scorpion, Night Hawk, and T-Rex. He assured her they were trustworthy and would serve her loyally until death.
After sending the address to Scorpion, he forwarded it to Abella.
The address was an abandoned church called Holy Church. Abella didn't rush over immediately. Instead, she instructed Sam to take a team and set up an ambush, then informed Phillipe before continuing towards Eastgate Heritage Manor.
Several cars followed her, but she knew they were Lola's people and didn't pay them any mind.
T-Rex received a call from his men and reported to Lola, "She's still heading towards Eastgate Heritage Manor, and she's alone."
"Are you sure she's alone?" Lola asked, wary of Abella's cunning.
"Yes, she was alone when she arrived at Peace Hospital and made the call to you. No one else was with her."
Lola laughed triumphantly, thinking, 'Abella, you're always so self-assured. But today, things are different. Today, you will pay dearly for your arrogance.'
"Release one of them," Lola ordered, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "Let my former grandparents and parents see what awaits their precious daughter and five beloved sons."
"Yes!" T-Rex quickly released one of the captives.
Carl, Winslow, Beckett, and Kimberly realized something was terribly wrong. The person who emerged wasn't human but a green-skinned, mutated creature.
"Start with the youngest bodyguard," Lola commanded lazily.
T-Rex cut the ropes binding the youngest bodyguard to the others and pushed him towards the creature. The young bodyguard, still bound and gagged, could only protest with feeble movements.
"Untie him and remove the gag. It'll be more entertaining," Lola said nonchalantly.
T-Rex cut the ropes and removed the gag.
The young bodyguard, filled with rage, ignored the creature and charged at Lola, intent on killing her and rescuing Beckett and the others.
"Kill him," Lola ordered the creature casually.
The command seemed to activate the creature, which suddenly came to life, lifting the young bodyguard and hurling him against a window. The glass shattered, and the bodyguard fell into the shards, unable to move from the pain.
Beckett and the others were stunned. The creature had immense strength, easily lifting a grown man and throwing him six feet high.
Seeing their shocked faces, Lola felt even more triumphant. Since capturing them, she had finally seen a different expression on their faces.
"Lola, Abella is following your instructions. You promised not to harm the bodyguard," Winslow pleaded, but the creature grabbed the young bodyguard and began pummeling him with rapid, powerful punches.
The bodyguard had no chance to fight back, coughing up blood with each blow.
The creature, emotionless, broke his limbs with ease. The sound of bones snapping filled the room, and the bodyguard's screams turned to silence as he passed out from the pain.
Beckett and the others were terrified. They never imagined the creature could be so powerful.
"Enough, Lola! Stop this!" Kimberly shouted angrily. "The bodyguard is innocent! Your grudge is with us."
Lola, seeing the fear and concern on their faces, was satisfied. "No, everyone in the Medici family deserves to die!"
The creature continued its assault, crushing the bodyguard's skull and breaking his neck with a final, brutal twist. Then it stood before Lola, awaiting further orders.
"Well done. You can go now," Lola said with a smile, pleased with the reactions of Beckett and the others.
They watched in horror as the bodyguard was dragged away, his limbs limp and broken. The creature's brutality was beyond anything they had imagined.
They began to worry about what would happen to Abella and her brothers when they arrived.
Winslow's eyes filled with tears, feeling guilty for dragging the young bodyguard into this mess. He had been clever and likable, and now...
"Lola, please stop," Carl pleaded. "Have you forgotten how our family treated you when you were young?"
