Chapter 1039 Do You Like the Real Appearance?
After spending some time in Phillipe's office, Elara walked out of the Bourbon Group's main entrance, her face once again displaying its usual cold and haughty demeanor.
As she stood at the entrance waiting for her driver, a luxury car pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, and a cold voice spoke, "Elara, we need to talk."
Elara's eyes were filled with icy disdain, her voice even more aloof, "What makes you think you have the right to talk to me?"
"Is this the real you? Does Phillipe know you were just putting on an act?" Molly, sitting in the car, scrutinized her coldly. "You've been hanging around Rainey too long; she's corrupted you. I used to admire your cold and proud demeanor."
Elara's eyes were as cold as ice. "Your admiration means nothing to me."
"Phillipe hates being deceived. Your poor acting didn't fool him; he just didn't embarrass you out of respect for your family ties. Do you really think you hold a special place in his heart?"
"At least I'm his cousin, and he respects me. What about you?" Elara looked down at her. "You've been kicked out by him, yet you still dare to act arrogant in front of me."
"What has Abella given you? I'll double it," Molly offered directly. "Even ten times more."
"You?" Elara's gaze fell on her with icy mockery. "Can you afford it?"
"Of course!" Molly was confident in her financial power.
"Then get out and tell me what you can offer."
As soon as Molly opened the car door and stepped out, Elara grabbed her hair and kicked her away.
Not only Molly's driver but also the security guards at the Bourbon Group's entrance and the receptionists inside were all stunned.
"I asked you to get out because you were affecting my performance in the car." Elara walked towards her step by step and kicked her again. "This is the real me. Didn't you look down on Rainey's methods? Didn't you admire my true self? How do you feel now? Do you like me even more like this?"
"Elara!"
"These days, it's rare to see a mistress so shameless and self-righteous. Trying to bribe me to get close to Phillipe? Dream on. Go home, look at yourself in the mirror, and see if you deserve to be with Phillipe."
Many receptionists and employees in the lobby had come to watch the commotion, but no one stepped forward to help.
Molly's driver wanted to intervene, but was stopped by Elara's driver. "Ms. Bourbon wants to teach someone a lesson. You'd better stay out of it. If Ms. Bourbon isn't satisfied, she might not be able to deal with others, but she can definitely deal with you. If you don't want to leave Empire Vista City with no place to bury yourself, don't meddle."
Molly's driver didn't dare to step forward and could only stand aside.
"Abella has earned my respect, something you'll never achieve!" Elara squatted down, grabbed Molly's hair, and warned her again, "Put away those thoughts you shouldn't have. Stay away from Phillipe and Abella. If you shamelessly approach them again, I'll beat you every time I see you!"
"Elara!" Molly glared at her viciously. "I'll tell your parents about this!"
"My parents adore Abella. If they find out what you've done, they'll definitely have a serious talk with your parents. And my aunt Victoria isn't someone to mess with. If she finds out about today, it won't just be a couple of kicks!"
Elara let go of her hair, stood up, and got into her car, indifferent to the crowd watching. Her driver drove away with her.
Only then did Molly's driver rush over to help her up. "Ms. McCoy, are you okay?"
"Where were you? Didn't you see me being bullied?" Molly angrily hit him and yelled at the onlookers, "What are you looking at? Get back to work!"
The crowd quickly dispersed.
Two days later, the topic #Abbott Kills Patient# trended online, and Abella was caught in a storm of criticism.
[I heard she visited a car accident victim, thought she was so skilled, and performed surgery, but ended up killing the patient!]
[How can someone her age just walk into a hospital and perform surgery? Even if she has the Medical Authority title, she can't ignore hospital rules and treat people at will, right? Are the hospital doctors not as good as her? Impossible!]
[Is her medical skill really that good? When Mr. Bourbon said she cured their illnesses, I found it hard to believe.]
[Abella's medical skills aren't as miraculous as you think. This incident shows she can't even save a life. Her Medical Authority title and reputation were bought by the Medici family!]
[Poor Lola. The Medici family found their real daughter and abandoned her, using this as an excuse to kick her out and let her take the blame. Meanwhile, they gave their daughter all these grand titles.]
[I think I wrongly blamed Lola.]
The online criticism of Abella grew, and Kimberly was furious.
Beckett tried to comfort her. "We can't expose Maria's kidnapping of Abella. If we do, people will question why Abella has so many subordinates and suspect she's involved in gangs. There will be calls for an investigation."
Beckett continued, "Secondly, why was there surveillance capturing the entire kidnapping? If people find out Abella set it up to expose Maria and Lola, they'll accuse her of being manipulative."
"Thirdly, Maria's men were armed, and the situation was too dangerous. If it gets out, the authorities will have to intervene."
"Fourthly, how did Abella escape? There will be all sorts of speculations. The explosion killed many people, and although Dennis and Phillipe handled it, bringing it up again will cause unnecessary trouble."
Kimberly, worried, asked, "What should we do? It's been days; we can't just do nothing."
"Abella said she'd handle it. Let's not read the online comments and stress ourselves out. Trust Abella; she'll resolve it."
Kimberly didn't want to ruin Abella's plan or let her be insulted in vain. After thinking it over, she decided to create a fake account to argue with the harshest commenters online.
