Chapter 896 The Mastermind Appears

After Abella knocked out everyone in the stairwell, she sprinted up to the rooftop, only to find someone had jumped off the building.

She rushed over and saw seven or eight people leaping down to the balcony of the sixth-floor suite, then to the fifth floor, where they started fighting with Theo.

On the fourth-floor balcony, Viper was slumped on the ground, his left leg bleeding profusely. Despite his desperate attempts to stand by holding onto the railing, his left leg just wouldn't cooperate.

Several people were chasing Viper. Knowing death was imminent, Viper fearfully tried to scoot backward.

One person kicked Viper's injured leg hard, another choked him viciously, and two others stabbed him with knives.

They were trying to silence him for good!

Abella quickly jumped to the sixth-floor balcony, then to the fifth floor.

In a high-end club across the street, two men were drinking to drown their heartbreak. Standing by the window, they clinked glasses and drank, still reeling from their recent breakups. Suddenly, they saw a girl gracefully jumping down floor by floor.

"Is that...?" Sean wondered if he was hallucinating from drinking too much.

Terry was stunned. He grabbed Namgong and asked, "Isn't that Phillipe's fiancée, Abella?"

"You think so too?"

"I'm almost sure it's her."

That figure, that aura—who else could it be?

Even though they couldn't see her face clearly from a distance, the familiar feeling was unmistakable.

What was she doing so late at night?

They watched as she jumped to a fourth-floor balcony, swiftly taking down two knife-wielding men, then skillfully fighting the others.

"Is she fighting?" Terry was dumbfounded. "No, she's killing..."

Someone had just been stabbed and was now lying on the balcony railing, covered in blood and still twitching...

What was going on?

Was Abella's person hurt? Or was she just trying to save someone in distress?

From their vantage point, they saw many people on the balconies across the street, all heading towards Abella.

"Oh no! Call Phillipe right now. I'll take the Midnight Oasis crew to help." Sean said, then sprinted off.

Midnight Oasis was under his name, with dozens of security guards at his disposal.

Terry, still in shock, fumbled for his phone, his hands trembling as he dialed Phillipe's number. "Phillipe, Abella is in danger. A lot of people are chasing her..."

"Is she hurt?"

"No... She's taken down a lot of people... You should see her moves..." Terry was amazed.

Wasn't Abella supposed to be timid and gentle? This didn't look like that at all.

Hearing that Abella was okay, Phillipe felt a bit relieved.

"Phillipe!!" Terry suddenly exclaimed, his voice trembling with disbelief. "Abella just jumped again! She jumped from the sixth-floor balcony to the fifth, then to the fourth, and now she's jumped all the way to the first floor..."

If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would've thought it was a scene from an action movie.

"Stop telling me." Phillipe suddenly said, "She'll think I planted spies."

"But..."

'Your fiancée is in such danger, how can you be so calm? Aren't you worried at all?' Terry thought.

"Don't interfere." Phillipe added, afraid Terry would become a burden to Abella.

"Pretend you didn't see anything." Phillipe said, then hung up.

Terry was utterly confused.

In the café, the two of them were inseparable, only having eyes for each other. But now, with Abella in danger, how could Phillipe be so calm?

The key issue was, those people looked like assassins. What if something happened to Abella?

And the man who was stabbed and covered in blood.

It seemed like Abella was involved in something serious

Thinking of this, Terry decided to go check it out.

When he rushed downstairs, he saw Sean standing there with dozens of security guards, all looking bewildered.

"Where's Abella?" Terry asked urgently.

"When I got down here, she and her crew had already driven off..." Sean replied.

To be precise, they had driven off to chase those people.

The ones who had run off scattered, leaving only a few behind. Abella and her team went after them.

Terry looked up at the fourth-floor balcony. The man who had been stabbed and covered in blood was still lying on the railing, motionless.

What was going on? How did Abella get involved in something so terrifying?

Did she have another identity they didn't know about?

"Ms. Medici, why are we chasing that car?" Theo was flooring the gas pedal but didn't understand why Abella wasn't retreating, especially since Viper had been stabbed to death.

If it weren't for those people surrounding him earlier, he would've jumped to the fourth floor to save Viper. He wouldn't have had to watch Viper get stabbed to death.

"Before he died, he had a breath left. He pointed at the man in front and said, 'Greenwood Villa.'"

"Greenwood Villa? That's an abandoned building from years ago. A big developer had plans to build a high-end community in the Gemstone District. They had agreements with the local government to plant oak trees along the street, improve the sidewalks, invest in hot springs, and so on. But the developer went bankrupt halfway through construction."

So it became an abandoned building.

Theo couldn't help but speculate, "Could it be that Viper had a change of heart before he died and wanted to tell us that their hideout is in Greenwood Villa?"

"Very likely."

That was why Abella wanted to chase them down.

"Ms. Medici..." Theo glanced at the road sign. "They're heading towards Greenwood Villa..."

"Stay close."

The white car in front was speeding away like a fugitive, racing down the night road.

Theo kept up the chase.

Until the car in front turned onto a deserted street, which ended in a dead end. On the left was the abandoned building, standing several stories high, and on the right were rows of trees.

Theo followed them into the abandoned building's parking lot, only to find the car had disappeared, and there was no sound of the engine.

Except for the headlights from Theo's car, it was pitch dark and eerie.

"Ms. Medici..." Theo was about to speak when Abella ordered, "Retreat."

Before Theo could react, he heard the roar of dozens of engines. He hadn't even had time to leave this creepy place when dozens of cars surrounded them.

The headlights were blinding.

A group of people got out, armed with weapons.

Theo was about to step on the gas when he felt something heavy hit the roof. He looked up and saw the car being lifted off the ground.

"Jump." Abella opened the door and jumped out. Theo quickly followed her.

Their car was lifted high and then dropped, crashing down.

"Ms. Medici..."

Abella quickly pulled him aside.

The car crashed down, shattering the glass with a loud noise. As the shards flew, Abella saw someone step out from the crowd.

It was Maria.
