Chapter 586 An Encounter at the Ski Resort
You could say this place was guarded like a bank vault.
"This wine cellar alone is worth as much as a small bank vault," Aimee told Abella with a smile. "The cellar keeper said a few of these bottles could buy a villa."
Abella wasn't a big wine fan, but her tutors had taught her how to spot a good one.
"These two," Abella said, pointing to two bottles. Aimee had someone take them down right away.
"Ms. Medici, can wine be an investment?" Aimee asked.
Abella nodded. "Good wine appreciates quickly."
"No wonder Mr. Harris' winery has so many members," Aimee said. "They store their wine here, each with a private rack and numbered bottles. If they need one, it's delivered to them."
"Do you like wine?" Abella asked.
"I'm allergic to alcohol, but I admire Mr. Harris' business skills. Being around him has opened my eyes," Aimee replied.
They chatted and laughed as they picked out wine. By the time they finished, Beckett, Kimberly, and James were up and had eaten breakfast.
"Abella, do you ski?" James asked excitedly.
"A little."
"Great! It's snowing. Let's go skiing." James had vehicles prepared, and they set off in high spirits.
James owned several ski resorts, the biggest and most beautiful being Horn Mountain Ski Resort.
Horn Mountain had stunning snow lines and views of snow-covered villages, making for a breathtaking experience.
The snow was perfect—large, dense, and soft, making it a favorite for the wealthy. Skiing here was smooth, and even falling didn't hurt.
When Abella arrived, the staff greeted her warmly.
"This is my niece. Treat her well and notify me when she arrives," James introduced.
"Yes, Mr. Harris!" They all greeted Abella and wished her a Merry Christmas.
Abella smiled back.
James brought out brand-new ski gear.
Since the resort catered to the rich and noble, it wasn't crowded. Each skier could have a slope to themselves.
Abella changed and hit the slopes. James watched from a distance, snapping a few photos of her.
"Abella seems good at everything," James said to Kimberly.
"She knows a lot. Beckett and I are going to ski over there. You should relax too," Kimberly replied.
James had the staff keep an eye on Abella, ready to help if needed.
Abella skied down the slope, snowflakes flying around her. She hadn't had this much fun in a long time.
On the cable car, someone stared at the imposing Phillipe, too nervous to speak.
It was freezing outside, but he was sweating. Originally, a business manager from the Bourbon Group's Sunhavenia branch was supposed to handle the negotiations.
But now, Phillipe was here himself, which was intimidating.
He couldn't figure out why Phillipe was personally involved. Was the offer too low, or was there another reason?
Not knowing why Phillipe was in Sunhavenia made him anxious.
Then he noticed Phillipe's gaze fixed on a girl skiing below.
The girl was clearly an expert, moving gracefully. Elgin suddenly had an idea. "Mr. Bourbon, I can find out about that girl for you and have her sent to your room. How about that?"
Phillipe's gentle gaze turned icy.
Elgin quickly corrected himself, "No, I mean, I can introduce you to her."
"Do I need your introduction?"
"I misspoke. With your charm, you can easily win her over."
The atmosphere turned cold again.
Elgin didn't know what to say. Since arriving at the ski resort, Phillipe had barely spoken.
He couldn't figure out what Phillipe wanted.
He could only tread carefully, thinking about the next topic.
"Mr. Bourbon, um..."
"Shut up." Phillipe just wanted to quietly watch Abella ski.
Abella skied to the bottom and suddenly felt a gaze from above. She looked up and saw Phillipe!
She took out her phone and called him. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for business negotiations. What a coincidence," Phillipe replied.
The cable car stopped, and Phillipe got off, walking towards her with Elgin cautiously following behind.
Abella glanced at Elgin, and the next second, Phillipe pulled her into his arms. "Merry Christmas."
Phillipe kissed her, and Abella realized he had come to spend the holiday with her. The business negotiations were just an excuse.
Seeing Phillipe's bold move, Elgin was shocked. 'Isn't it rumored that Phillipe doesn't like women?'
"Elgin." Hearing Phillipe call him, Elgin quickly stepped forward.
Phillipe, still holding Abella, looked at her and said, "He's the business partner."
"Hello, nice to meet you. Merry Christmas." Elgin cautiously extended his hand to shake Abella's, but Phillipe's glance made him retract it.
"Looks like you really are here for business," Abella said playfully.
"Of course," Phillipe said, looking lovingly at Abella. "Since I'm working hard even during the holidays, will you spend tonight with me?"
Perhaps worried about making her uncomfortable, Phillipe added, "Just for a little while."
Knowing she was at James' house and had to spend time with her family for their first Christmas together, Phillipe didn't want to take up too much of her time.
"Just a little while," Phillipe said, his eyes full of anticipation.
"Okay." Abella agreed, seeing that he had come all the way from Libertya. "I'll let you know in advance."
Phillipe, overjoyed, gave her another kiss.
