Chapter 1095 Too Late

"Let them go first," Abella's voice was as icy as ever.

Lola's smile vanished, replaced by a sinister glare and a furious demeanor. "You still dare to negotiate with me? Open your eyes and take a good look. Tied up here are your grandparents, your parents! Soon, your five brothers will join them in death."

Thinking about this, Lola laughed again, her smile twisted. "You still have time to beg me."

Abella smirked, unimpressed. "Beg you? To make my death less painful?"

"Not necessarily," Lola's laughter grew more joyous. "But if I'm in a good mood, I might make their deaths less painful."

Abella glanced at her grandparents. Only two guards were watching over them—one was Scorpion, the other was unfamiliar but seemed average in skill.

"Don't try anything," Lola seemed to read her thoughts and laughed. "I dared to leave just two guards because I'm certain none of you will escape today!"

"You seem pretty confident," Abella replied nonchalantly. "So, what do you want to talk about?"

Abella didn't rush to save anyone. She stood there casually, looking at Lola on the platform.

Lola added, "Did you keep me in the Medici family to outshine me, or to put on a show for your family, making them think you're kind and considerate?"

Normally, Abella wouldn't bother answering such foolish questions, but today she patiently replied, "I just didn't want my family to be sad. They've been with you for eighteen years; they must have deep feelings for you."

If she had returned home and immediately pushed to kick Lola out, her parents might not say anything outwardly, but they would feel sad and disappointed.

"So, just because of that, you agreed to let me stay in this family? To be on equal footing with you as a daughter of the Medici family?" Lola clearly didn't believe her.

"What else?" Abella looked her in the eye. "Not everyone is as petty as you, obsessed with trivial matters. Whether you're in this family, wearing expensive clothes or jewelry, it doesn't affect me. As long as my parents are happy, I just consider it as having one more sister."

"You're still lying?" Lola didn't believe her at all. "Do you dare to swear on your family's lives that everything you said is true?"

"Why wouldn't I?" Abella's words were sincere.

Lola was half-convinced. "If you really think that way, why have you always opposed me?"

"Who has been opposing whom? From the day I returned home, have you ever shown me any kindness?"

Abella's words displeased Lola. "Are you saying I haven't been sincere? When you were in school, didn't I realize my mistakes and regret them, often visiting you at the Medical University to build a good relationship? You were the one who gave me the cold shoulder, who rejected my sincerity. If it weren't for you, how could our family's relationship have deteriorated to this point?"

"I've said before, you don't need to try to please me. Just stay in this family peacefully, and you can stay as long as you want. Whatever material or emotional investment the family makes in you, I don't care." This was Abella's true feelings.

As long as Lola didn't cause trouble behind the scenes, she could stay in this family as long as she wanted.

Abella didn't mind.

"You chose to believe malicious words, wavering between normal and crazy."

"You dare say my mom's words were malicious?" Lola exploded as if stepping on a landmine. "You have no idea how much I regret not listening to her."

"Not listening to her—while the family still cared for you, using the Medici family as a stepping stone to jump to another wealthy family?" Abella sneered.

Lola's eyes showed a hint of shock. How did Abella know what her biological mother had said?

"While the family still loved and trusted you, taking advantage of them to boost your own status, or finding a chance to kill me and continue your previously pampered, glamorous life?"

Abella's words left Lola speechless. Yes, Maria had taught her exactly that.

But she had always been indecisive, so...

"I truly regret letting her raise you," Kimberly, tied to the pillar, suddenly spoke with deep sorrow. "If it weren't for her, maybe you could have some conscience."

Back then, Lola was innocent and kind, like a blank slate, unaware of the world.

It was Maria who repeatedly whispered in her ear, stirring trouble, combined with Lola's own changing mindset, that led her step by step into the abyss.

If they, as parents, had noticed in time, perhaps everything would have been different.

They didn't want to lose Lola as a daughter; they just felt that a kind person had gone astray, and the cost was too high.

"Can you guarantee that everything you just said is true?" Lola looked at Abella, her emotions fluctuating.

Abella's expression remained calm. "I swore already. If you don't believe me, what else can I say?"

Lola believed her a little but could only smile bitterly. "There's no going back. Everything is too late."

Now she was in a wheelchair, her life completely changed.

"Don't worry, tonight's fire will be your grand funeral." Lola glanced at her subordinate, who immediately understood and released the eight drugged men.

Only then did Abella realize why Lola was so confident today—it was because of these drugged men.

Jacob was a minor leader in one of the Umbra League's branches, so it was normal for him to have access to drugged men.

But how did he manage to control them?

Even after his death, they still obeyed Lola?

How did he do it?

"Good luck," Lola said, then ordered the eight drugged men, "Kill the people tied to the pillars."

She wanted to see who Abella would save!

The eight drugged men seemed to understand her words and immediately walked towards the people tied to the pillars.

Abella kicked the leading drugged man, who blocked her attack with his arms.

Abella then realized that the man's arms were unusually hard. After kicking him, he only took a step back.

Normally, anyone she kicked would stagger back several steps, clutching their stomach.

Abella then delivered a powerful spinning kick, causing the drugged man to finally take two steps back, but he continued walking towards the people tied to the pillars as if nothing had happened.
