Chapter 740 Why Is Everything So Good-Looking
"Hey, you should probably head back now." Abella knew Phillipe still had some stuff to deal with in Verdania. He'd been with her all day and hadn't caught a break.
"Get some shut-eye and keep in touch." Phillipe's eyes were full of reluctance. He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss before saying, "I'll text you when I get there."
"Alright, drive safe and take it easy." Abella's eyes lingered on him as she reminded, "Stay safe."
"Oh, now you care about me." Phillipe's eyes lit up with satisfaction. He hadn't expected his long-time crush to finally show some love back.
As soon as he left, a bunch of servants swarmed around Abella, blocking her path. "Ms. Medici, what's it like dating the famous Mr. Bourbon?"
"How'd you win his heart? Spill the tea!"
"How'd you make Mr. Bourbon fall for you so hard?"
They probably didn't expect Phillipe to come back, and the servants quickly bowed their heads and stepped back.
Phillipe didn't expect these servants to be so close to Abella, nor did he expect to see a hint of warmth in her eyes when surrounded by them.
He remembered when he first met Abella, she was always so cold and distant.
Had Abella changed, or had he just not known her well enough before?
"I just remembered, I got something for you." Phillipe pulled out a small box from his coat pocket.
The servants sneaked a peek. It was a square box, about the size of a palm.
'Is Phillipe proposing?' They all grinned, wondering if Abella would say yes right away.
When Abella opened it, she found a chocolate shaped like the SkySteel Spire, with "I love you" engraved on it.
The servants crowded around to see. It wasn't a ring, but the message on the chocolate made them smile even more.
They hadn't expected Phillipe to be so romantic.
"When did you get this?" Abella was a bit surprised. It seemed like he had magic, always pulling gifts out of nowhere.
"I had it custom-made. This chocolate isn't bitter; you'll like it," Phillipe said, then affectionately patted her head. "I'll head back now."
"Okay." Abella watched him leave.
"Mr. Bourbon won't come back suddenly now, will he?"
"Ms. Medici, are there other words engraved on the other sides of this chocolate? I saw one side covered in writing. Could it be a love letter?"
Abella's gaze fell on her. "You looked pretty closely."
"Just the angle, I didn't mean to peek! I just happened to see it."
The servants wanted to ask more questions when Abella asked, "Is there an empty vase?"
She was holding a branch of Hellebore in her other hand, with several pure white flowers blooming at the top, looking particularly fresh and elegant.
"Yes! Mrs. Harris loves flowers, and there are all kinds of vases at home." A servant ran to get one for her.
Abella took the vase back to her room, filled it with water, and placed the Hellebore in it, her eyes softening.
Early the next morning, Lola was the first to get up. She saw a servant tidying up the room and found out that Vanessa was coming.
Apparently, Abella got the news last night but didn't bother to tell her!
Lola was fuming inside. 'Damn it! Is she trying to score points with Grandma? She didn't even tell me the news. She must be scared of getting overshadowed!'
Thinking this, Lola was livid. She checked the opening hours of another fancy shopping street nearby, Montoguria Boulevard, which opened at ten in the morning. She had breakfast, grabbed the card Henry gave her, and rushed over.
Montoguria Boulevard was a newer luxury shopping spot. It wasn't as famous as Riviera Avenue, but it had all the high-end brands you could think of.
By the time Lola got there, it was already half-past ten. The first store she saw was QY Clothing Store, a three-story building with a stunning exterior, showcasing the brand's high-end vibe.
Lola felt a pang of discomfort. How could a clothing brand started by a teenage girl stand on this street, alongside top international brands?
Seeing the dazzling array of products inside the QY Clothing Store, Lola strutted in, her high heels clicking.
"Hello! Welcome to QY Clothing Store. How can I help you? I'm your sales associate, Summer."
Summer was super polite, slightly bowing and keeping a smile on her face.
Other sales associates, hearing a customer had arrived, also slightly bowed in her direction, creating a great overall vibe.
Lola asked arrogantly, "Where's your most expensive section?"
Hearing this, several customers around her looked up.
Summer smiled, "This way, please. Our priciest section is inside. There are three areas: the left is for women, the right is for men, and the middle is for household items."
Lola arrived at the most expensive women's section. The beautiful dresses, stunning high heels, and unique purses all amazed her. She asked in disbelief, "Are all these designed by your brand's designer?"
"Every item here is designed by our brand's founder, Lady Margaret. No other designer's work is included."
"QY's products are known for being unique, with only one piece of each design. Can your founder handle all that designing?" Lola's tone was skeptical, even a bit disrespectful.
Summer smiled politely. "Our founder is incredibly talented and full of ideas. This is not an issue."
"Are they really all designed by her?" Lola was still doubtful. Not only was Abella Anika, but she was also Abbott, who held the title of Medical Authority. She composed music, saved lives, studied, and still had time to appear in front of her.
Where did Abella find the time?
"Yes," Summer answered politely, "These designs are all by our founder, without exception."
Lola couldn't hide her shock and jealousy. Her fingers brushed over each dress, each one designed so beautifully that she wanted to buy them all immediately.
But then she thought, 'If Abella sees me wearing these, she'll probably scoff.'
So, she withdrew her hand, forcing herself not to look or buy.
But she couldn't move her feet, unable to leave the women's section.
So she continued browsing, but after a few steps, she regretted it. 'Damn it, why does everything have to look so good?'
