Chapter 883 Bargaining Too Hard
Last night, Theo had only left his phone number, so when Louie reached out, he was a bit surprised. Could Abella have been right? Had they really come looking for them?
After the call ended, he quickly called Abella. "Hey, Ms. Medici, they want to meet us at Evergreen Hospital at 10 AM today."
Evergreen Hospital was a top-tier private hospital in Britonia, where every minute cost a fortune.
"Tell them I want that island for fifty million dollars," Abella replied.
"Fifty million dollars..." Theo was stunned by how hard Abella was bargaining. They had originally agreed on four hundred million dollars, and now she was slashing it by three hundred and fifty million. Wouldn't he get killed for relaying this?
"Don't be scared, just say it," Abella added.
Theo found it hard not to be scared. After all, they were dealing with Dennis, who was famous in Britonia.
In the end, he conveyed the message, and the other party only asked them to come to the hospital to discuss.
On the way to the hospital, Theo was still worried. "Ms. Medici, do you think they might set a trap, capture me as a hostage, and then threaten you to buy the island for seven or eight hundred million to save me?"
After all, even without considering Dennis, no one would sell an island for a mere fifty million dollars.
"Scared?" Abella teased, seeing his frightened expression.
"I'm not scared," Theo said, lacking confidence as he drove. "My life isn't worth much anyway. Your medicine can save many lives. Ms. Medici, if it comes to it, don't worry about me. Even if they put a knife to my throat, you mustn't back down. You have to get that island."
"Okay."
Abella's straightforward agreement left Theo a bit stunned. Did he hear wrong? Was Abella really planning to abandon him?
Then he saw Abella's smirk and realized she was just messing with him again.
Abella had changed, becoming more playful.
"Don't worry, his life is in my hands. They won't dare do anything to you before the surgery is done."
Theo knew Abella was reliable. "What about after the surgery?"
"I'll get you out."
Once again, Theo was moved by Abella. With someone like her, if anything unexpected happened, he would protect Abella at all costs, even if it meant his life.
They arrived at the hospital.
Dennis was already waiting in the VIP ward.
When Theo followed Abella into the ward, he saw Louie and a dozen bodyguards, all on high alert, watching them warily.
"You really are something, daring to play tricks in front of me." Dennis, sitting on the hospital bed, didn't look like a patient at all. Despite his pale lips, his nonchalant demeanor commanded respect.
Abella remained calm as always. "Mr. Medici, you are naturally suspicious. I had no choice but to put the drug in my own glass."
"You were sure I'd switch glasses with you?"
"Yes."
Louie, standing nearby, was shocked. He hadn't expected Abella to drug with the wine.
Last night, with so many eyes on her, Abella's actions of opening and pouring the wine were seamless. Even in hindsight, Louie couldn't figure out when she had drugged the wine.
This girl was truly unfathomable.
Dennis smiled wickedly, intrigued. "Weren't you afraid you'd drink the drugged wine?"
"I have the antidote."
Dennis chuckled again, impressed by her audacity.
"So, you want to buy the island for fifty million dollars now?" Dennis's gaze fixed on her.
They had initially agreed on four hundred million.
"Isn't your life worth three hundred and fifty million dollars?"
Louie couldn't believe Abella dared to bargain so hard. He had never seen anyone like her, except for Dennis.
"When I recover, you won't escape." Dennis's words were a warning, but his smile never faded.
"Mr. Medici, catch me if you can," Abella said nonchalantly. "Can we proceed with the surgery?"
Perhaps not expecting Abella to be so bold, everyone in the room was shocked and awed.
Who was she? Daring to be so brazen in front of Dennis.
Louie glanced at Dennis, and seeing no objection, he warned Abella softly, "If you try anything, not just you, but everyone around you will die."
"Mr. Potts, don't worry. I said I'd save him, and I will."
"How confident are you?"
"I said, one hundred percent."
Louie sneered inwardly. Even world-renowned doctors wouldn't guarantee a hundred percent success. This Abella, who knew where she came from, was unbelievably arrogant.
"I don't trust your skills. We'll have a few of our doctors assist you."
"Fine, I need two assistants anyway."
"You..."
She dared to treat world-renowned doctors as assistants. Wasn't she too arrogant?
At that moment, a few doctors knocked and entered.
"Mr. Medici..." They all bowed. One of the doctors, seeing Abella, was visibly shocked and delighted. "Dr. Wilson! You're here?"
The title surprised not only Dennis but also Louie.
"Dr. Wilson? It's really you. Mr. Medici invited you for the surgery. This means the surgery is in good hands."
Abella didn't know who they were, only saying, "I need two assistants."
"Can I? I've always admired your skills. Can I observe and learn?" Bianca eagerly volunteered, showing great respect for Abella. "And this is Echo, a renowned surgeon as well."
"You two will do. Get him to the operating room and take me to change into sterile clothes."
"Echo, I'll take Dr. Wilson. You get Mr. Medici to the OR." Bianca, now a fan of Abella, quickly led her to change.
Perhaps not expecting Abella to be Abbott, everyone was stunned.
Theo, feeling proud, said, "Now you know who Ms. Medici is, right? I told you, many important people want her to operate on them, but she's too busy. Mr. Medici is lucky to have her."
"You..." Louie was about to get angry.
"Don't forget, Mr. Medici's life is in Ms. Medici's hands. Be nice to me! I haven't even had breakfast to bring Ms. Medici here."
Louie, though annoyed, had to send someone to get Theo breakfast, considering the upcoming surgery.
Theo grinned. "Ms. Medici works hard. Get her something too."
Louie, holding back his anger, signaled his men to comply.
Dennis, lying on the bed, thought about Abella being Abbott. Remembering the usually stern Bianca acting like a fan in front of her.
This Abella, skilled in combat, an expert driver, and now Abbott.
