Chapter 734 Full of Anger
"We ain't gonna have any regrets between us," Abella said.
Phillipe's eyes lit up, like someone just flipped a switch and turned on the stars in them.
"You've set everything up so perfectly," Abella said with a grin, "Every time I'm out with you, I'm on cloud nine, especially today."
Phillipe got all emotional and leaned in to plant a kiss on Abella's lips.
The sweet sound of the violin was wrapping up, and the night sky exploded with fireworks.
Tourists were gobsmacked; this was a rare sight, and they all whipped out their phones to snap pics.
"What's the occasion today?"
"Is it another surprise from that dude for his girl?"
"That chick is so lucky to have such a doting boyfriend."
"She must be the happiest person on the planet, right?"
Abella gazed up at the fireworks lighting up the night. It had to be Phillipe's doing again.
"I never realized how beautiful everything around me could be," Abella said, eyes on the fireworks. "Since being with you, I've found that this slower pace of life is pretty sweet. The flowers, the grass, the trees, everything in this world is just so delightful."
"It's all about the company," Phillipe said, looking at her with love. "Being with you makes everything better, so everything looks beautiful, everything tastes amazing, and everything feels joyful."
"Yeah, I guess that's true," Abella said, smiling as she snuggled into his arms.
Ten minutes later, Abella dozed off in his arms.
"Abella, seeing that someone is taking care of you, I can rest easy."
Abella heard a voice and woke up, only to find Vilma standing in front of her.
"Grandma Vilma." Tears welled up in Abella's eyes instantly. She grabbed Vilma's hand, the touch so real that her tears flowed as she choked up. "You're finally back?"
She hugged Vilma tight and cried. "It was my fault last time; I couldn't save you."
"Abella, why are you crying?" Vilma lovingly wiped away her tears and smiled kindly. "It was my fate, it had nothing to do with you. I know you've been haunted by that surgery, always living in guilt and pain. How can I be at peace in heaven if you're like this?"
Hearing "in heaven," Abella looked at Vilma in disbelief. She couldn't tell if Vilma was alive or dead.
"The past is the past. People need to look forward. I'm doing well now. But you, I used to worry that no one would take care of you. Now that you have Phillipe, he's a good boy. You'll be very happy with him."
Abella's tears flowed again.
"I can leave in peace now. You must take care of yourself."
"No, don't go." Abella instinctively reached out to touch Vilma's hand, but it had no warmth. She was completely stunned. Was this all just a dream?
Was Vilma visiting her in her dream?
The entire Senova River turned into a white mist, the boat swayed in the fog, and Vilma gradually disappeared.
"Stop blaming yourself."
"Grandma Vilma."
"Be happy."
"No, don't go." Abella reached out to grab, but caught nothing.
"Having a granddaughter like you makes me very proud."
The human figure turned into white mist and gradually dissipated into the air.
Abella couldn't catch anything and cried her heart out on the spot.
"Abella, Abella," Phillipe saw her tear-streaked face and couldn't help but call out softly, "Can you hear me?"
Abella opened her tearful eyes and found herself still lying in Phillipe's arms. The boat was still slowly moving on the Senova River, and the SkySteel Spire, buildings, and other boats were all still there.
The only thing missing was Vilma.
Everything just now was really a dream!
"What did you dream about?" Phillipe asked, wiping away her tears with concern. "You kept saying 'don't go.' Who was leaving?"
Abella was still deep in her sadness. She buried her face in Phillipe's chest to calm down silently.
Seeing her so upset, Phillipe immediately guessed. "Was it Mr. Walker or Mrs. Wilson?"
Only these two people could break her down emotionally and make her act like a girl her age.
"It was Grandma Vilma."
"She came to see you?" Phillipe gently stroked her hair and said softly, "You must be haunted by that surgery. She understands you, so she came to comfort you personally."
Abella's nose tingled, and her eyes welled up with tears again.
"You did your best. It wasn't your fault. The entire medical history has no better solution for such a condition. You've done great."
Abella's eyes reddened again.
"Don't cry anymore. Don't make Mrs. Wilson worry." Phillipe tenderly wiped away her tears.
After a while, Abella said, "Grandma Vilma came to praise you."
"Praise me?"
"She said you're great and that I'll be very happy with you."
Phillipe was a bit surprised, and his eyes warmed up. "I will take good care of you and never let Mrs. Wilson worry. I will make you the happiest person."
Abella reached out to gently stroke his face.
This was the first time she had touched him so closely.
Phillipe covered her hand with his, letting her touch as much as she wanted, his eyes full of affection.
After who knew how long, the boat approached the shore.
Lola stormed off the boat, and Henry hurriedly chased after her. "Lola, I'll take you somewhere else to eat."
Lola was so angry that she had no appetite for food!
Henry had just heard many people on the boat praising Phillipe and envying Abella.
Lola had heard enough and didn't want to eat a single bite. She just wanted to leave this place quickly!
As they were about to get in the car, a group of bodyguards suddenly surrounded Phillipe and Abella, walking towards them.
Their car was also parked nearby. Lola saw that Phillipe was driving a globally limited edition sports car, which had been reported in the news before, costing over ten million dollars.
Looking at Henry's car, which was just an ordinary luxury car worth a few hundred thousand dollars, it was nothing compared to Phillipe's.
Phillipe didn't notice anyone else in the parking lot. He opened the passenger door for Abella, fastened her seatbelt, and they started kissing again after saying something.
Lola's heart ached. She couldn't understand why Phillipe liked Abella so much! To this extent!
Seeing him kiss Abella for a while before letting go and getting into the driver's seat, the multi-million-dollar sports car sped away, followed by a fleet of bodyguard cars.
Lola's mood was at its worst, and she got into the car with a dark face.
