Chapter 812 Apology
Lola was a bit angry that her mother had blocked all her escape routes.
"Can you secretly help me get those skincare products later?" Lola asked Abbie. "Those two servants are so stupid, they didn't even bring me any toner this afternoon! I need to do my skincare routine before bed."
"Mrs. Medici said that Ms. Abella Medici didn't use any, so you don't need to either."
Lola's face stiffened. "What do you mean?"
"It means that since Ms. Abella Medici didn't use so many skincare products, you don't need them either."
Lola couldn't believe it; even her skincare products were taken away!
"What about my change of clothes? There are only two sets upstairs. Is my mom really only letting you bring me two sets?" Lola asked unwillingly.
"Yes, Mrs. Medici said you are here to reflect, not to enjoy life. Two days' worth of clothes is enough, the rest are in the main house, and she didn't let us bring them over."
Lola was furious. So, in this guest house, she had to live like a guest.
'Is that what Mom meant? This is too much!' She thought.
"Ms. Lola Medici, do you need anything else? I only have ten minutes left," Abbie said, looking at the time anxiously. "If I go over an hour, I get docked twenty dollars for every extra minute."
Lola couldn't believe her mother was so ruthless, even setting time limits to prevent the servants from talking to her.
"Ms. Lola Medici, don't be sad. Maybe one day Mrs. Medici will remember your good qualities or see that you are remorseful and let you out early."
Lola sneered coldly at this. Her mother had already been heartless enough to throw her here, almost leaving her to fend for herself. Expecting her mother to remember her good qualities? Who knew how long that would take?
"In about ten days, it's Easter. I heard that all the elders from both families will come. Your grandparents and uncles love you the most, and your brothers too. Someone will speak up for you, and Mrs. Medici will naturally let you join the reunion."
Since Maria left, only Abbie had been kind to Lola.
Lola thought it made sense; Easter was a time for family reunions.
But there were still ten days until Easter.
Thinking about it, she didn't know how she would get through these ten days.
Especially with three meals a day being ordinary dishes, no one to talk to, and not being able to leave this building.
"What if my mom only lets me join for the reunion dinner and then sends me back here afterward?" Lola worried. That would mean she didn't know how long she would be stuck here.
"Actually, what Mrs. Medici is most angry and concerned about is that Ms. Lola Medici doesn't respect Ms. Abella Medici. As long as Ms. Lola Medici corrects this, considering the eighteen years of affection, Mrs. Medici will show some leniency. She can't possibly keep you here after Easter and when school starts, right?"
Lola thought it made sense.
She didn't expect Abbie to be so smart, but waiting until school started was still a long time.
"Oh, by the way, Mr. Hall came looking for you, but no one told him you were confined to the next building. He prepared this ointment for you, saying it would prevent scarring from the scratches on your face and included other ointments for quick pain relief and wound healing. He labeled the usage instructions on them. Ms. Lola Medici, Mr. Hall is really good to you." Abbie placed the ointments on the table.
Lola looked at the packages, each with a sticky note written by Henry.
She didn't expect that the only person who cared about her injuries while she was confined here was Henry.
"Do my parents know he sent me these ointments?" Lola asked.
"They know. I pleaded with Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici, saying these ointments were Mr. Hall's kind gesture. Even if they were angry with you, they shouldn't take it out on Mr. Hall, considering future relations with the Hall family. I begged for a long time, and Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici didn't say anything and just left. They didn't say yes or no, so I took the risk and brought the ointments."
Abbie checked the time. "Ms. Lola Medici, I really have to go now."
Lola nodded, and Abbie picked up the food box and left hurriedly, afraid of exceeding the time limit.
The large house became quiet once again.
Meanwhile, Abella had just returned home when she heard someone call her.
"Abella, you're back?" Kimberly quickly got up from the sofa. Seeing Abella holding a stack of documents, she couldn't help but feel concerned. "You're still busy this late?"
"What time is it? Have you eaten?" Beckett checked the time; it was almost 10 PM. "If you haven't eaten, I'll go to the kitchen and make you something."
"I've eaten." Abella changed into slippers and entered the house. Seeing her parents standing in front of her, she asked, puzzled, "Dad, Mom, why aren't you asleep yet?"
Kimberly pulled her to the sofa and said, "We only found out from Lauren tonight that you've been suffering so much in this house. Even Celeste and Linda dared to bully you."
"That's too much," Beckett said, sitting on the other side of Abella. "Lauren said what she told us was just the tip of the iceberg. We don't know how much you've suffered from them behind our backs."
"These servants have no sense! Especially that Maria! Taking our salary but acting like the owner. I already had them beaten and blacklisted in the industry. They won't find any work in the future. These people can't be left to harm others."
Abella didn't expect her parents to secretly stand up for her. She smiled and said, "Thank you, Dad, Mom. It's okay, it's all in the past."
After all, the incident with Celeste and Linda happened a long time ago.
"Abella, you went through so much and didn't tell us," Kimberly suddenly hugged Abella, her nose tingling, her voice hoarse. "It's all my fault. I trusted them too much and didn't pay attention, causing you to suffer so much in private."
"I share the blame. I habitually left household matters to the servants. They were always respectful and polite, so I didn't notice their other behaviors behind our backs." Beckett said.
After all, the Medici family had over twenty servants, each with their own duties.
They had never heard of any servant being so disrespectful.
It really shattered their worldview.
