Chapter 995 Distorting Right and Wrong

"Grandpa, Grandma, please don't be upset. What's done is done. Now, we need to focus on making it up to Abella for all the harm she's suffered. I'm fine, really. The most important thing right now is how Abella feels."

Abella hadn't expected that after Lola left, Elsa would show up. She'd heard Elsa had a sister who was sick and couldn't come today.

Hopefully, she was not just another troublemaker.

"Why did Lola have someone hit you?" Blake suddenly asked. "Did you two have a fight?"

Carl and Winslow's eyes turned back to Elsa.

"Lola has bullied me more than once. At Mr. Wodehouse's birthday party, she threw champagne in my face when no one was looking, and she even spat in it first."

Hearing that, Everyone was disgusted. They couldn't believe Lola would do something so vile behind their backs. It was just so low.

"There must be some bad blood between you two," Blake said bluntly. "With her personality, even if she didn't like you, she'd at most say something to annoy you. She wouldn't resort to violence unless you really pushed her over the edge."

Elsa was shocked that Blake was defending that Lola. And it seemed like Margaret wasn't planning to help her either!

Margaret must think she was being reckless.

But if she didn't speak up about Lola's bullying now, when would she?

"Elsa, what's really going on? Just tell us everything you know so we can judge for ourselves," Carl said, sensing that things weren't as simple as Elsa made them out to be. Blake was probably right; there was more to the story.

"Speaking of that night," Margaret suddenly smiled gracefully, smoothly changing the subject, "Elsa and I went to Mr. Wodehouse's birthday party. We wouldn't have known otherwise, but Abella is both the Go King KnightStrategist and the violin master Stringless."

Everyone except Beckett and Kimberly was stunned.

"Abella is KnightStrategist? And Stringless?" Her brothers looked shocked.

Abella was incredibly talented!

And she had two such impressive identities?

"Mom, Dad, why don't you seem surprised? Did you know about this?"

"And you didn't tell us?"

Kimberly nodded. "I only found out after Mr. Wodehouse's birthday. I heard that Lola even pretended to be KnightStrategist's student at the party. She told her friends that Abella ruined her engagement with Phillipe. That's why your dad and I decided to send her to the other house to reflect. We had no idea..."

The brothers knew Lola was sent to the other house for bullying Abella, but they didn't know she had also pretended to be KnightStrategist's student.

"I can't believeAbella is so amazing," Carl and Winslow praised Abella.

Margaret saw the topic naturally shift and softened her gaze. She had just taken a sip of water when Dennis spoke up, "What does this have to do with Elsa getting hit?"

Everyone snapped back to the original topic and looked at Elsa.

The conversation returned to the beginning.

Margaret kept a calm face, but she knew exactly what had happened that night.

Elsa had lost a violin competition to Abella, and Lola had rubbed it in her face. Elsa got so mad that she hit Lola, pulling her hair, and then Lola threw champagne at her.

But after getting doused with champagne, Elsa had smeared cake on Lola's face, pushed her off a swing, stomped on her, and poured red wine on her.

In truth, Elsa had started the fight and had been quite vicious about it.

"That night, Lola mocked my violin skills compared to Abella's. She said no matter how good Abella was, she couldn't beat her eighteen years of being part of this family."

"She also said that even though Abella had the Medici family blood, she grew up in an ordinary family, just like me, George's daughter, and couldn't measure up. I got so mad I argued with her, and she threw champagne at me."

"She said Uncle Beckett and Aunt Kimberly were known for spoiling their daughter. If she cried to them, they'd believe her no matter what lies she told, and I'd get severely punished by my parents. I wouldn't be able to explain myself no matter what."

"That's why I never mentioned it until now."

Elsa's eyes glistened with tears.

Everyone was shocked that Lola had said such horrible things in private!

Abella, feeling a bit drowsy, listened with half-closed eyes.

She hadn't seen what happened that night, but she could tell Elsa was lying.

But Elsa had hit the Medici family's sore spot.

"How dare she say Abella grew up in an ordinary family, and that even with Medici blood, she couldn't compare to an adopted daughter of eighteen years?" Carl was furious.

"Beckett and George are both my sons. I treat them equally. How could Elsa not measure up? This Lola! She's clearly trying to sow discord." Winslow was also angry, feeling like he'd misjudged Lola all these years.

Elsa, seeing her plan succeed, pretended to console them. "Grandpa, Grandma, don't be mad. It's Christmas, don't get upset. Tomorrow, Abella's identity will be revealed. Just think about that and be happy. Can you tell me about the plans for tomorrow?"

Talking about Abella's return party lifted everyone's spirits a bit.

In the end, George sighed, "I used to think Jacob was honest and Maria was warm and cheerful. Not just you, I also considered them family. I never expected them to be so bad. If they'd told us Lola was their biological daughter earlier, we wouldn't have waited so long to find Abella, and she wouldn't have suffered for eighteen years."

"Exactly," Winslow sighed.

Margaret added, "We can't let them off easily. We need to make them pay for what they did to Abella."

"Too bad Maria's dead, brought it on herself. Otherwise, I wouldn't let her off so easily!" Kimberly said angrily.

"What do you mean?" Margaret's eyes showed surprise. "Are you saying Maria is dead?"

Kimberly then recounted how Maria had kidnapped Abella.
