Chapter 1091 You're Crazy

"If I catch you calling for help again, they'll all die a horrible death!" Lola spat out the words and slammed the phone down.

Abella knew her parents were usually accompanied by their head bodyguard, Jace, and four other bodyguards.

Now that Jace had been captured, it was clear the four bodyguards were also in Lola's hands.

But Lola was still in a wheelchair; there was no way she could have kidnapped so many people on her own, let alone hurt Jace.

Jace was a retired special forces soldier, highly skilled and not easily harmed by ordinary people.

Could it be that besides Scorpion, Jacob had left other powerful allies for Lola?

Were there others working for Lola?

With this in mind, Abella called Scorpion to ask if this was the case.

"Jacob did have more than one godson, but I don't know how many or who they are. We've never met; we each carry out our own missions and lead our own teams."

Abella finally understood. "Okay, I get it."

Meanwhile, Lola saw that Kimberly and Abella's chat background on WhatsApp was a photo of the mother and daughter together. Furious, she changed it to a plain white background.

She exited WhatsApp and saw that Kimberly's phone wallpaper was a family photo, everyone dressed in matching outfits and smiling brightly.

Jealousy burned in her eyes as she changed the wallpaper to a default starry sky image. Opening the photo album, the happy family moments stabbed at her heart.

Since she left, they could still smile so happily.

There were many things she hadn't seen on Stories, seeing how happy and harmonious they were in private.

Driven mad with jealousy, Lola deleted all the photos in the album and then permanently erased them. Only then did she feel a bit of satisfaction. She waved the phone in front of Kimberly.

"I deleted the photos," She said, her tone laced with a hint of pride and glee.

Kimberly was still a bit dazed, suspecting she had been drugged. She was kneeling on the ground, her hands and feet bound behind her, her mind foggy.

Hearing that her photo album had been wiped clean, she remembered many photos with Abella that hadn't been backed up. Anger and heartache surged within her as her consciousness slowly returned. She couldn't help but grit her teeth and say, "Lola, are you even human?"

Using such childish methods to get back at her?

"You're angry already? When I was still your daughter, you never took so many photos of me. Once, you accidentally deleted all the photos in the camera, and you didn't feel as heartbroken as you do now!"

Kimberly closed her eyes, holding back for a long time before saying, "I really regret it."

"Regret what? Letting me be the Medici family's daughter for eighteen years? Or regret spending time and money on me? Or is it that you regret keeping me in this house after Abella came back? Is that what you regret? You hit me, scolded me, and locked me in the basement without a word, without food or water. Have I regretted calling you 'Mom' for eighteen years?"

Their argument woke Beckett. Enduring a headache, he took a while to see the situation clearly. He roughly guessed what was happening—they had been kidnapped by Lola!

He remembered they were on their way to Wilhelmina's birthday party when they were intercepted. The car crashed, his head hit the window, and he felt dizzy. Then someone dragged him out of the car, and before he could see what was happening, a handkerchief was pressed over his nose and mouth.

Thinking back, the mastermind had to be Lola!

"Lola, how could you do this?" Beckett said, his voice filled with pain and condemnation. "We raised you for eighteen years, gave you everything you could want, and treated you like our own. Even after Abella came back, we still treated you as our daughter."

"Daughter? You dare say that? Do you think I'm blind? If you hadn't been so obviously biased, would we be in this situation today?"

Beckett, heartbroken, asked, "Have you ever thought that maybe you were the problem? You cried and said you were wrong before—was that all just an act?"

"You should be glad I was willing to put on an act," Lola screamed, her voice raw. "That meant I cared about you! But now, I don't care anymore."

She had nothing left.

She had lost her only support, Henry.

Rather than living miserably, she might as well avenge her biological parents and drag these people down with her.

She lived in a swamp of misery, utterly unhappy and in pain.

If she was suffering, Abella shouldn't be happy either!

She lost her family, and she wanted Abella to feel that loss too!

"I was wrong," Lola laughed bitterly. "I was wrong to believe you, to think you would be fair! I was wrong to be so self-righteous, not seeing my own status! I was wrong to keep holding on to this pathetic sense of family, when you never cared about me."

Her biological mother, Maria, was right. After Abella returned, she should have either given up on family and used the Medici family as a stepping stone to another wealthy family, or killed Abella to continue her previous life!

But she had been indecisive, missing countless opportunities. In the end, her biological mother died, her biological father was gone, and she ended up in this miserable state.

It was all her fault for not listening to her mother.

"Eighteen years of bonding, countless days and nights of building a foundation of feelings, all easily shaken by a bit of blood relation. Is that blood relation really so important to you?" Lola screamed, her voice breaking.

Kimberly closed her eyes, taking a long time before saying, "You're crazy."

Even now, she stubbornly believed it was all because of blood relations.

She never saw her own faults.

Or rather, she thought her faults were minor, and everyone else was to blame.

Beckett, heartbroken, still tried to awaken her conscience. "If we cared so much about blood relations, we would have kicked you out before Abella came back. We kept you because of the bond we built over eighteen years. We couldn't bear to let you go. We only kicked you out because you kept hurting Abella and never showed any remorse."

"So it's all my fault, and you did nothing wrong? If you hadn't been so obviously biased, would I have been jealous of her, hated her, and wished she were dead?"
