Chapter 447 A Pile of Gifts
After Celeste left, Winston said to Abella, "You don't have to pay attention to her. If you don't want to see her, I'll fire her."
Maria, who was standing aside, was completely stunned. She didn't expect Winston to defend his own sister as soon as he got home. He had no idea what Lola was thinking!
Lola was also a bit confused. When Celeste praised her just now, she didn't expect that kind of praise would hurt Abella. But Winston's actions left her feeling empty inside, as if Abella's feelings were the only ones that mattered.
Abella looked at Winston in front of her, never expecting that the carefree Winston would be able to see through Celeste's thoughts and point them out so directly.
It seems that Winston is quite attentive to details.
"Listen to me, all of you."
With just one sentence from Winston, the servants standing around immediately perked up, looking as if they were eagerly listening.
"Both young ladies of this household are to be treated equally. Anyone who dares to intentionally create division behind their backs, to elevate or belittle one over the other, or to deliberately sow discord between the two sisters, will find that leaving this household is not as simple as it seems. Understood?"
"We understand, Mr. Medici." All the servants bowed in unison, not daring to defy him.
"You may all leave." After they departed, Winston turned to Abella beside him and said, "Now that it's quiet, come, have some more food. You both should eat."
He pushed the dishes towards Abella and also gave a portion to Lola. "You did well just now. When I criticized Celeste, it wasn't directed at you."
Lola had been feeling a bit down, but upon hearing Winston's words, she felt a hint of warmth and appreciation.
Winston's words showed that he cared about her feelings.
It seems that Lola still holds a place in Winston's heart.
"We are family. Let's not become pawns in someone else's game. Let's eat."
Mr. and Mrs. Medici glanced at each other, suddenly realizing that their son had grown up and started thinking comprehensively. After finishing their meal, Winston took Abella's hand and said, "Come, I have a gift for you."
Mrs. Medici had been curious for a while about what kind of gift a traditional young man like Winston would give. "Why don't you also bring it down from the car? Why leave it in the car?"
It wasn't until Winston opened the trunk of the extended luxury car that a bunch of pink balloons floated out. "I personally blew up each of these balloons. Aren't they beautiful?"
He had seen someone do this online, so he quietly took note of it, wanting to surprise his sister.
"How romantic," Mr. Medici exclaimed. He hadn't expected Winston to have such a romantic side. And the way the balloons filled the car trunk, it was truly a sight to behold.
Lola looked on with envy at the balloons floating up into the sky. She suddenly felt happy for Abella, as Winston had never prepared such a surprise for her before.
Abella looked at each balloon, each one bearing the words "Welcome Home." Needless to say, these somewhat clumsy words were Winston's handiwork.
"All the past hardships and unhappiness are behind us now. From now on, let's make this home a happy one." Winston patted Abella's head. "We are one big family, and we will all take good care of you."
After all the balloons had flown out of the trunk, the star lights inside continued to twinkle, emitting a dreamy glow. There was also a string of words that read "Welcome home, little sister."
Beneath this sentence, there was a mountain of gifts. Winston took one and handed it to Lola. "This is for you."
"Thank you, Winston."
"The rest are for Abella." Winston picked up a dozen or so gifts. "Don't be jealous. I've given you plenty in the past."
Lola couldn't help but laugh at his words. "Winston, you make me sound so petty."
"What pettiness? Both of my sisters are generous!" Winston said, then turned to Abella with a pile of gifts in his arms. "I'll take these to your room."
"Abella, you've prepared too much," Abella said, seeing the mountain of gifts in his hands that were almost up to his nose.
"You're eighteen now, so there are exactly eighteen gifts here. I'll give you more on your birthday," Winston said with a smile. "Come, lead the way. If there's anything you like or have your eye on, just let me know, and I'll buy it for you anytime."
"Thank you, Winston."
"Silly girl, don't thank me. Take your time to open them in your room. If you don't like something, just throw it away. Don't force yourself. I give you gifts to make you happy, and your happiness is mine too."
Mrs. Medici couldn't stop her smile at her son's thoughtfulness. No wonder he left his sister's gifts in the car. It was indeed inconvenient to carry so many things up and down.
After the children left, Mr. Medici couldn't help but ask, "Darling, do you think the welcome home gift we prepared for Abella was too ordinary, lacking in surprises and romance?"
"How can we compare to the younger generation? They have so many ideas and creativity. We can only wait for Abella's birthday and prepare a big surprise for her then."
"We should plan it well when the time comes." Mr. Medici felt that his son's surprise today had outdone him, and he needed to think carefully about what to give next time.
Winston carried the gifts to Abella's door and asked, "Can I come in?"
"Of course," Abella replied generously.
"Is it okay if I put them here? That way, you can sit and open the gifts." After getting his sister's approval, Winston placed the gifts on her coffee table, then took out a bank card and handed it to her. "This is your pocket money. Use it to buy whatever you like."
Abella was thinking that none of her brothers would give her a bank card, so she wasn't expecting it.
"Winston, I don't need it. You can take it back."
"Keep it. It's just a little something from me." Winston stuffed the card into her hand. "I'm not sure what girls like, so if I buy the wrong thing, you can buy what you like or tell me, and I'll get it for you. Feel free to spend it on anything you fancy, and if there's not enough money in it, I'll top it up."
"No need, Winston."
"I'm giving it to you, so you must take it. No refusal, understood?" Winston insisted that she accept it, and when no one was around, he asked, "Who taught you your hacking skills?"
Abella briefly explained the story of Grandpa Medici and the others, which surprised Winston. "Someone guided you, and you reached this level. That's impressive and talented."
At least she had more talent than him.
"You're self-taught, which makes you even more impressive."
Enough said, he still didn't know how to bypass a firewall.
In front of his sister, he felt completely outmatched...
"Well, as long as..." Abella tiptoed and whispered something in Winston's ear.
Winston suddenly realized. So, that's how it is. Forced attacks won't work; he'll have to find a loophole.
He didn't expect his sister to tell him the way. But it also showed that her hacking skills were better than his.
