Chapter 741 Where Did the Gold Card Come From?
Not only were the clothes and shoes drop-dead gorgeous, but even the bling and watches were off-the-charts stunning.
If it wasn't for the fact that Abella designed these, she would've already maxed out her card on them!
"Your priciest stuff is just meh," Lola scoffed, turning her nose up. "Looks like your founder's got nothing on the big-name designers."
"Our brand's already hit the big leagues. Being on Montoguria Boulevard and snagging the prime spot is all thanks to our brand's muscle," Summer said smoothly. "Plus, our founder's got mad skills that even top international designers envy. It's been all over the news."
Since QY hit the scene, more than one designer has sung praises about its founder, Lady Margaret, to the media, even wanting to be her apprentice, though they've never met her in person.
"I've been rocking top-tier brands since forever, and this design ain't all that," Lola said, full of herself. "Take this coat, for instance—if a Chanel designer made it, it'd be a tweed suit, perfect for showing off a young lady's classy vibe."
"If every designer just copied Chanel, we'd have a world full of Chanels. No new brands, no fresh styles. QY's all about standing out. Our founder's designs are versatile and fit for all ages."
"So QY's real fans are people like you? Only folks from the lower rungs would dig it." Lola sneered. "You don't get what the real upper crust wants. Whatever, everyone has their own taste."
She was about to bounce when she heard a voice. "Hold up."
Lola turned and saw a rich-looking woman, Whitney Dickson, calling her out. The woman looked like she was in her forties, decked out in top-tier brands, but Lola didn't recognize her.
"You can dislike any brand you want, but don't diss people. There's no high or low among folks. You should apologize to this sales associate," Whitney said.
Lola couldn't place who this lady was and shot back coldly, "She's not your problem, so why are you butting in?"
Whitney seemed shocked to run into someone so bratty, especially a young one. She could only think this chick was super uncultured!
"And I'm not your problem either, so why are you in my business?" Lola rolled her eyes and turned to leave. Before stepping out, she threw in, "This store's got lame products and lame customers!"
Summer, the sales associate, couldn't help but say, "You..."
She'd never seen such a stuck-up and rude young lady!
Dissing her was one thing, but trashing the whole QY brand and other customers? If it wasn't for the store manager's advice to keep cool and always think of the brand's image, she would've clapped back ages ago.
"What kind of manners does that girl have? Seriously, there are all kinds of people out there!" Whitney huffed, clearly ticked off. "Look at her, all decked out in brand names, yet her manners are trash."
"Mrs. Hall, thanks a ton for sticking up for me!" Summer said, trying to keep it cool. "Sorry it messed with your vibe and caused you any hassle. How about I grab you a coffee to chill things out?"
Lola had no clue who she just ticked off and kept on browsing another high-end store.
This place was all about middle-aged and older folks, with styles tailored just for them. Upper-class ladies loved shopping here.
Lola quickly spotted a brooch that screamed Vanessa's vibe and status.
The kicker? Buying the brooch came with a free bracelet. Lola planned to gift the bracelet to Aimee, James' maid.
Just as she was heading to the cashier, she spotted a familiar face—it was that rich lady from earlier!
She was shopping here too!
Lola took another look and realized the priciest thing on her wasn't her clothes or accessories, but her Hermès purse, worth a cool $140,000. Clearly, her family was loaded, but Lola couldn't get why she liked to meddle.
Seeing Whitney eyeing a watch, Lola whispered to the sales associate, "I want what she's holding."
The sales associate followed her gaze and looked uneasy. "That watch is one of our bestsellers, and it's the last one we have."
"Then what are you waiting for? Wrap it up for me!" Lola snapped.
The sales associate looked even more troubled. "But she picked it first."
"Did she say she's buying it? She's just looking. Whether she buys it or not is still up in the air," Lola said, full of herself. "If you don't want the commission, get me another sales associate."
With such a big commission on the line, which sales associate wouldn't want it? One sale could be worth a month's pay!
"I'll go talk to her right away." Soon, the sales associate brought the watch over.
Lola, feeling smug, shot Whitney a triumphant look.
Whitney didn't expect this girl to come from a well-off family. The watch cost $600,000, and the girl bought it without blinking.
But the watch was decked out with jade and jewels, totally not fitting the girl's age or style.
Was this girl seriously competing with her? Just because of what happened earlier?
From then on, no matter what Whitney liked, Lola would snatch it up.
At first, Whitney thought the girl was just rich and could buy whatever she wanted.
But later, she saw Lola pull out a familiar gold card.
That gold card was issued by East Banner Bank to her son to encourage him to deposit a ton of cash in their private bank. It was a supreme gold card, and there was only one in all of Verdania!
'Why is the gold card in this girl's hands? Could she be my son's girlfriend? My son has a girlfriend? When did this happen, and why don't I know?' Whitney was stunned, unable to believe it.
Lola snatched quite a few items and, before leaving, mockingly said to Whitney, "If you can't afford it, don't shop around. Picking and choosing like you're at a flea market."
