Chapter 601 Who Persuaded You?

Maria: "Ms. Lola Medici, we found the gift! There were so many deliveries that day, and no one was home. The servants put them in the storage room. There are several boxes with your name on them."

"Open them and send me a picture. I want to see what they sent," Lola told Maria over the phone. "If I hadn't impulsively chased after Sunhavenia, I could've seen the fireworks my parents set up for me. My rashness made me miss their gesture."

Maria suddenly remembered the grand fireworks display from last night, with many servants taking pictures.

She had wondered who was extravagant enough to set off such a grand display. The entire villa area, along with passing vehicles and pedestrians, saw it.

The fireworks spelled out "Peace and Joy," and many people took pictures and videos, posting them online. It caused quite a stir.

Kimberly got the idea from Blake. She heard Blake was planning a fireworks show for Abella and thought of Lola being alone, so she decided to set off a grand display for her too.

Lola asked, "Maria, did you see the fireworks last night?"

Maria mumbled, "I heard them but didn't go out to see."

"I wonder if any of the servants recorded a video. I'll ask around later," Lola said, eager to see the fireworks her parents had prepared.

She felt touched, realizing her parents hadn't forgotten her and still treated her as their daughter.

Maria didn't want to take pictures, but several heirs, including James, had already told Lola they had Christmas gifts for her.

Soon, Lola received photos from Maria.

Her uncle, parents, and brothers had sent her valuable gifts, including limited edition purses, dresses, high heels, and expensive jewelry she wanted but couldn't buy.

Her brothers even wrote her handwritten cards, treating her with the same affection as before.

Blake mentioned the concert tickets again in his card, explaining that his manager had taken most of them to build relationships, leaving only two. Since Abella and Phillipe had never seen his concert, and Lola had given away many tickets before, he gave the tickets to Abella and Phillipe first. By the time she called, he had no tickets left.

The sincere tone in the cards made Lola feel a bit ashamed. She had lashed out at Blake at dinner, blaming him for giving the tickets to Abella first. It turned out she had misunderstood; Blake had given the tickets away first and then said he had none left. He didn't intentionally deceive her.

"Ms. Lola Medici, what gifts did they give Ms. Abella Medici?" Maria suddenly asked.

"Does it matter?" Lola replied.

Maria added, "Of course, it matters! They can't give her a villa and only give you a necklace. That would be too much of a difference!"

"Maria, over the past eighteen years, the total value of the gifts I've received is not insignificant."

"Ms. Lola Medici, have you been swayed again? Don't listen to their nonsense. You're just an adopted daughter now, basically an outsider to the Medici family. Of course, they want to spend the least on you."

Lola had her own opinion. "I don't think Uncle James sees it that way."

"Is it your uncle who convinced you?" Maria knew Lola was too naive and easily trusted others.

"Maria, I think Uncle James is right. Abella had a tough life with the Wilson family for eighteen years. Now that she's back with her real parents, it's normal for everyone to treat her well and make up for lost time."

"How can you sympathize with her?" Maria was exasperated, not expecting James to change Lola's mind so easily.

"She's part of this family. When she came back, she didn't kick me out but let me stay and enjoy the wealth and family that originally belonged to her. It's like she's sharing her wealth and family with me."

"Lola, this isn't sharing. You've been with the family for eighteen years, and they value that relationship. The gifts and care they give you have nothing to do with Abella. It's the eighteen years of feelings that drive them."

"But Maria, she was switched at birth. The family feels guilty towards her. If she asks and uses this guilt to kick me out, the family might agree."

"Lola, even if they let you leave, they'll still care about you. For eighteen years, they treated you as their own daughter. This bond can't be severed just because Abella asks."

Lola lowered her head and said after a while, "But Maria, I still think Uncle James makes sense."

Her parents still treated her as their daughter and created a fireworks show for her. Her brothers still treated her as their sister and gave her things she liked. And her uncle didn't show favoritism; the value of his gifts was the same as in previous years.

Lola put herself in Abella's shoes. "If it were me, I couldn't be as generous as her, letting her stay in this family and share my status, wealth, and family. She's already very good."

Maria sighed heavily, "You'll know I'm right when Abella bullies you next time."

"Maria, she even gave me a gift."

"What?" Maria was surprised.

"She gave me a Christmas gift too, a piece of calligraphy," Lola said.

When Maria heard what Abella wrote, she sneered. "She's warning you not to be too greedy. Pretending to give you a gift to gain favor, but actually implying something."

Lola said, "But she is Magnolia, and each of her words is worth a fortune. What I gave her before was just a cheap bracelet."

Normally, Lola wouldn't even look at such a bracelet, but Abella didn't mind and gave her a valuable return gift. If they could become real sisters, it wouldn't be so bad.

"Ms. Lola Medici, you can't still be dreaming about becoming good sisters with her, can you? Have you forgotten how many times you humbled yourself before, and her attitude and reaction?"

"I'm just thinking about it." Lola knew that Abella wouldn't be friends with anyone. In her eyes, it seemed like there was only her career.
