Chapter 604 Showing Off

Lola thought, "Is it because Abella made a good impression on her grandmother the first time they met, saved her three times, and her brothers keep praising her? Is that why Vanessa likes her so much?"

Even though she knew Vanessa should treat Abella well, Lola still felt a bit empty and lost. She'd been standing by the bed for a while, and ever since Abella showed up, Vanessa's attention was all on her.

Vanessa was fussing over Abella and didn't even glance at Lola.

Vanessa finally finished her medicine and smiled, "I didn't expect Abella's medicine to not be bitter at all. She's way better than other doctors. I could tell her skills are excellent as soon as I drank it." She even gave a thumbs up, praising Abella endlessly. Everyone saw her furrowed brows and started to laugh.

"Grandma, I'm really happy to see you awake, but I have to head back to the country," Winston said gently, holding Vanessa's hand. "I'll come see you another day."

"Winston, what are you busy with again? We hardly see you all year," Kimberly started, but Steven interrupted. "Grandma, take care. I also have urgent matters back home. Listen to Abella about what you can and can't eat."

"Steven, you have to go back too?" Kimberly was annoyed. "It's Christmas, and none of you are staying with Abella. What are you all busy with? If you don't explain, no one's leaving today!"

It was hard to gather everyone, and now they were about to leave in less than half a day.

"Uh, Mom, Grandma, I also have some matters and will take Steven's plane back," Ethan said, making everyone turn to look at him.

Kimberly was even more furious.

"Mom," Abella said with a smile, "Steven, Ethan, and Winston already celebrated Christmas with me in advance. I got surprises and gifts, and I was very touched and happy. This is the first time in eighteen years that so many people have celebrated with me and given me so many surprises. I'm already very satisfied."

Everyone felt a pang of sympathy. They had given such surprises and companionship to Lola for eighteen years, but Abella only had this half-day.

"They must have delayed other work to be here. Let them go," Abella added.

Abella's understanding made Kimberly even more dissatisfied with her three sons. "Look at your sister, how sensible and considerate she is, always speaking up for you. And you."

"Mom, calm down," Blake said, putting his arm around her shoulders with a cheeky smile. "I'm here, aren't I? Those three blockheads don't know how to make Abella happy. The three of them together aren't as good as me!"

His three brothers shot him warning looks, but Blake ignored them. "With them gone, we have more time to spend with Abella and Grandma. Isn't that better? When they're done with their work, they'll have more time to spend with Abella without any distractions. How great is that? I'm telling you all now..."

Blake thought, "I'm sticking up for you guys, why the scary looks?"

He gathered his courage. "Anyway, everyone needs to clear their schedules for Easter. No one can be missing! We'll all celebrate together!"

"Alright!" Vanessa, lying in bed, was the first to agree.

James nodded too.

Steven quickly added, "No problem."

Ethan and Winston also supported the idea. They had already planned a big surprise for Abella for Easter.

After they left, Kimberly was still a bit upset. Beckett comforted her, and Vanessa chatted with Abella until she got tired. Only then did she notice Lola standing quietly.

Kimberly had already told her about Lola staying in the house.

Vanessa said kindly, "Lola, now that Abella is back, you two should get along well."

Lola nodded gracefully, "Don't worry, Grandma. I really like Abella. She even gave me a gift tonight."

"Oh, really?" Vanessa smiled. "That's good. I'm a bit tired now, I'll sleep first."

She held Abella's hand. "Let's chat more tomorrow."

"Okay." Abella helped her to bed, turned off the lights, and left Vanessa's room.

Before leaving, she reminded the caregivers and servants to take good care of Vanessa.

Although Lola felt a bit lost, she went back to her room, thought for a while, and posted a story.

Lola: [I didn't expect my parents to prepare such a grand surprise for me. Unfortunately, I went abroad to surprise them and missed the beautiful fireworks in person. I got the video from the servants. For eighteen years, I've been grateful for all the love my family has given me. Love you all.]

She added a heart emoji at the end.

She posted a video of the fireworks she got from the servants. The fireworks were brilliant and beautiful.

At the end of the video, she added a few pictures of the gifts her family had given her, labeling each gift with the family member's name.

Within two minutes, the likes quickly surpassed a hundred.

Comments started pouring in, and the number kept rising.

[Oh my god, what a wonderful family! Fireworks and gifts... and all limited editions!]

[I passed by the Manor last night and took a video. I was wondering which rich person was preparing a surprise for their girlfriend. I didn't expect such a romantic idea to come from your parents. So stylish.]

[So jealous of Lola, growing up in such a happy environment and living such a wonderful life every day.]

[Lola is so lucky to have so many loving family members and friends who love her.]

Lola felt better as she read everyone's envy and compliments.

Meanwhile, Abella left Vanessa's room and saw Aimee sitting between the living room and the garden, looking at her phone and talking to herself. As Abella approached, she heard her say, "How could this happen!"

The voice wasn't loud, but it sounded a bit complaining.

Abella smiled and asked, "Not sleeping yet?"

"Ms. Abella Medici?" Aimee turned around, surprised. "You haven't rested yet?"
