Chapter 885 Tricked

"Just a few of you? You think you can keep me here?" Abella mocked.

"You got it all wrong. You guys asked us to grab some food to keep you entertained. Please, head to the VIP ward and relax."

Terry, standing nearby, was taken aback. The famous Abbott turned out to be such a beautiful and elegant young woman. His heart started racing.

She was incredibly captivating.

Abella entered the VIP ward and saw Theo lounging on the bed, munching on chips with his legs crossed.

"Ms. Medici, you're here?" Seeing Abella, Theo's cheeks puffed with excitement as he shared, "These chips are amazing. You gotta try them."

The bodyguards in the ward looked at Abella with respect. After all, she was Dennis's savior.

"Is the surgery done? Mr. Medici is still alive, right?"

"What do you think?"

"If you did it, he must be alive!" Theo shoved a chip into Abella's mouth. "They said we have to wait until Mr. Medici wakes up before we can leave. Come sit here. I saved some snacks just for you."

Abella remained silent.

Theo tore open another bag of chips and tossed the wrapper aside. The bodyguards, holding disposable bowls, rushed forward. Abella could tell from their sweaty foreheads that Theo had been keeping them busy, even in the cold winter.

Time passed, one of the bodyguards received a call, whispered a few words, and then drew his weapon, pointing it at Abella and Theo.

Theo, who had been acting all high and mighty just a moment ago, was stunned to see seven or eight people surrounding him and Abella. "What's going on? How dare you point guns at Mr. Medici's savior?"

The lead bodyguard respectfully said, "Mr. Medici has woken up. He requests your presence."

Theo couldn't believe Dennis would turn on them after waking up. He quickly shoved another chip into Abella's mouth, ate one himself, and followed them to the adjacent VIP ward.

On the bed, Dennis was half-lying down, his aura of nobility and danger undiminished, still as intimidating as ever.

He didn't look like someone who had just undergone surgery but rather someone who had just woken up from a nap, looking calm and composed.

He smirked, looking at the two of them.

All the bodyguards had their guns trained on them.

"Can we talk now?" Dennis asked playfully, looking at Abella. "Why are you investigating Cruz? And why do you want that island?"

"You... you... You broke your promise..." Theo couldn't believe Dennis was going back on his word. Abella had performed surgery on him, and not only did he not sell them the island as promised, but he was also now making things difficult for them.

"All's fair in war," Dennis said with a wicked smile, as if teaching Theo a lesson.

Abella also smiled, intrigued. "I forgot to mention, the medicine list I gave your men had seventeen ingredients. I only wrote down sixteen."

Dennis's smile froze.

Louie and the other bodyguards were stunned. They hadn't expected Abella to hold something back.

"As for when I'll tell you the seventeenth ingredient, that will be after we leave safely."

Dennis chuckled. "How do I know you're telling the truth?"

"You have no choice but to trust me now, don't you?"

She had performed the surgery. Without her for follow-up treatment, how long would it take to recover and to what extent? It was all up to her.

"All's fair in war," Abella repeated his words with a smile.

Dennis's smile grew more wicked. Perhaps he hadn't expected Abella to have a trick up her sleeve. He waved his hand, and his men immediately put away their weapons.

"Mr. Medici, you have promised to sell me the island." Abella pulled out an agreement from her bag and placed it on the bedside table. "I've already drafted the agreement."

Of course, to keep her identity hidden, she had signed it with Theo's name.

"Now, it just needs your signature."

Abella then placed a check on the table. "Here's fifty million dollars."

The payment date and amount were written on it.

"Mr. Medici, you just need to write his name on the payee line, and you can cash it at the bank."

Perhaps Dennis hadn't expected Abella to be so prepared. He smiled playfully. "What if I don't sign?"

"Then your follow-up treatment won't be guaranteed. If I forget the seventeenth ingredient, or if you have post-surgery complications, or if you need another surgery to remove blood clots from your heart."

After all, no doctor could guarantee a hundred percent success in treating him.

Louie couldn't believe Abella dared to threaten Dennis. The key was, they really couldn't do anything to her.

"Hand me the pen." Dennis smiled nonchalantly, not looking threatened but rather like a tiger toying with a cat.

He found Abella increasingly interesting.

Louie reluctantly removed the pen cap and handed the pen to Dennis. Seeing Dennis sign his name, Abella immediately took the agreement.

"Pleasure doing business." Abella was about to leave.

Dennis signaled his men to open the door for her. In the end, they all watched as Abella and her men swaggered out, not daring to stop them.

"Ms. Medici, you're amazing." Theo looked at Abella with even more admiration. "No wonder you said you had a way to get us out after the surgery..."

In the ward, "Mr. Medici, once she gives us the seventeenth ingredient, I'll make sure to bring her back," Louie promised, fearing Dennis's anger.

"It's been a while since I met someone this interesting." Dennis's lips curled up. "She looks about the same age as Lola, but she's much more interesting."

"She can't compare to Ms. Lola Medici," Louie quickly defended.

"No, she's much more fun than Lola."

After a while, Louie received a call, his expression turning awkward. Only after the call ended did he look at Dennis, his expression complicated. "Mr. Medici, they called to say there is no seventeenth ingredient. The entire medicine list only had sixteen."

In other words, they had been played by Abella!

Dennis's smile widened. Abella really didn't play by the rules.

Though she wasn't his type, Dennis suddenly had an idea. It might be fun to bring her in as a sister. At least life would be much more interesting.

"Mr. Medici, should I take some men and bring her back..."

"No need." Dennis didn't want to capture her. Instead, he was looking forward to their next meeting, wondering what surprises Abella would bring him then.
