Chapter 796 She is Stringless
The birthday song kicked in right then.
Someone was pushing this massive six-tier cake their way.
Lola was dying to see who it was, and as it got closer, her jaw dropped. That stunning face—wasn't it Abella?
"Abella is Stringless? No way!" she thought.
"Didn't Mr. Edward just say Stringless would deliver the cake to Mr. Wodehouse? Could it be that KnightStrategist is Stringless? That's wild."
"Maybe Stringless had to hit the restroom, so Abella's just helping out?"
"Or maybe Stringless is too old to walk, so Abella's doing the heavy lifting. I mean, a six-tier cake is no joke."
"Honestly, I can't believe she's Stringless. How old is she, anyway?"
"Yeah, how could she be both KnightStrategist and Stringless?"
With everyone staring in shock and whispering, Abella slowly rolled the cake up to Clarence.
Clarence was stunned. This wasn't the cake he ordered. Abella must've planned this surprise.
The cake had six tiers, symbolizing sixty years. Each tier was decked out, and the bottom five showed scenes from their past, like them playing Go, all in a cute cartoon style. There were even little trophies they'd won over the years, each one recreated by Abella and stuck on the cake.
Each tier had words of blessing written on it.
The biggest letters were on the bottom tier: [Happy Birthday.]
The top tier had a little girl sitting with eight old men, all smiling.
Clarence's eyes got misty. The cartoon figures were so lifelike.
Besides himself, there were Rodolfo, Kenneth, Clifford, and Ian.
Owen had passed away, following his beloved to another world, but Abella still included his cartoon figure, smiling warmly.
Even though Donny Sherman, Terrence Cunningham, and Wilfred Warner couldn't make it, Abella included them too.
Their group was called: [Eight Teachers and One Student.]
Originally, there were eight teachers looking out for Abella.
But Owen passed away first. His WhatsApp profile pic was still in the group, and sometimes the other teachers would chat with him, even though they knew he'd never reply.
Thinking about this, Clarence's eyes got even mistier.
"I haven't even arrived, and you guys already brought out the cake." It was Ian, rushing over to Clarence. "I'm telling you, Stringless' hands are for playing the violin, not pushing cake carts."
"Yeah, Clarence," Kenneth, right behind him, caught his breath and laughed. "You're wasting talent here. Stringless' hands are gold, and you had her push a cake cart."
Seeing these two respected elders finally show up, everyone was shocked by their words.
"Abella's just too sweet and offered to help. Plus, I'm sixty now. How many more birthdays do I have left? And you guys have the nerve to give me grief. The party was supposed to start at 7 PM. Look at the time now!" Clarence playfully argued with them.
"We realized we forgot the birthday gift after leaving, so we went back to get it," Ian said, handing over a gift box with a grin. "Happy birthday."
"Not my fault. I was riding with Ian. When he went back for the gift, I had to tag along." Kenneth laughed, handing over his gift. "This one's from me. Happy birthday."
Clarence laughed heartily. "Since everyone's here, before we cut the cake, I gotta say, Stringless did an amazing job with this cake. It's creative and meaningful, and I love it. Abella, thanks for secretly planning this surprise. This cake must've taken you forever, right?"
As he spoke, he patted Abella's shoulder affectionately, like she was his granddaughter.
His words seemed to announce to everyone present, leaving them all in shock.
"She really is Stringless."
"When she played 'Worldly' earlier, I had a hunch she might be Stringless, but she's so young and also KnightStrategist. How could she really be Stringless? So I brushed it off. Never thought she really is Stringless."
"Oh my, she's incredible."
"I always thought Stringless was some old dude. Never imagined she was so young and beautiful."
"That's rare, truly rare."
Elsa had just grabbed a spare dress from the car and cleaned herself up. As she walked to the garden, planning to get back at Lola, she heard Clarence say that Abella was Stringless.
She froze, completely unable to believe that Abella had so many impressive identities.
She was the top scorer in the SATs, held the title of Medical Authority as Abbott, cured her grandparents' illnesses, and was also Anika. Tonight, Clarence had personally announced that she was KnightStrategist and Stringless.
She was shocked and couldn't believe that this true heiress, who had been living outside, possessed so many incredible skills.
Margaret had already noticed Abella's violin skills were at least master level when she heard her play earlier, but she never expected such a prestigious identity as Stringless.
Stringless, along with Clifford and Pagnani, were the three legends in the international violin world, representing the pinnacle of 21st-century violin artistry.
Such a mysterious master-level figure turned out to be Abella, Kimberly's daughter.
Both had daughters, but her daughter Elsa couldn't even compare to Abella at all!
With the same violin and the same piece, Abella's performance was clearly superior to Elsa's.
She was Stringless.
She really was Stringless.
Violin master Allyson in the crowd finally realized why Abella hadn't agreed to be her student earlier.
It turned out Abella was Stringless, far surpassing her in skill. Stringless could be her teacher, not the other way around.
It was truly embarrassing.
But then she thought, when she had offered to take Abella as a student, Abella hadn't revealed she was Stringless, hadn't looked down on her, and had been extremely polite all evening.
Her heart softened, finding Abella endearing. If only she could take her as a granddaughter.
