Chapter 867 Give a Beating
"Hey, Mr. Medici..." Louie couldn't help but speak up again.
Maybe he was worried Dennis would get impatient, so he asked quickly, "We lost, and according to the bet, Sterling has to crawl from the starting line to the finish line while calling himself a loser..."
Should he intervene in this?
If Dennis wanted him to step in, the Boeing team definitely wouldn't dare make Sterling crawl on the ground.
But Dennis didn't even turn his head. He kept walking forward and said coldly, "Let him crawl and then get out of the team."
He had no intention of keeping him.
Since founding the drift racing team, Dennis had never led the team in any race; it was always Sterling who took the lead.
Maybe because of this, Sterling had become increasingly arrogant, thinking Dennis valued him highly. He started to act like he was important, messing around with women, drinking, and causing trouble more than once. Because the drift team had a big name, even when he caused big problems, no one dared to hold him accountable.
Now he had gone too far, making a bet with someone and losing, which meant he had to crawl from the starting line to the finish line. This was his own doing.
He had just lost to Abella, and his furious reaction had embarrassed the drift team.
There was no way Dennis would let him stay in the team to continue making a fool of himself and acting like a tyrant.
If he wanted to dig his own grave, Dennis would let him.
Sterling realized Dennis had left and had no intention of helping him out of this mess.
Even though Dennis had lost the race and was understandably upset, crawling from the starting line to the finish line was something Sterling simply couldn't do.
Seeing Sterling trying to leave, Clea and her crew blocked his way. "A bet's a bet."
"Get out of my way," Sterling snapped, clearly in a bad mood. "I already gave you the track, what more do you want?"
"What do you mean by that? We won it fair and square! If you have the guts, win it back."
The drift team stayed silent.
"A bet's a bet. The drift team isn't going to lose its credibility over this, right?" Clea crossed her arms, insisting he keep his word.
"Everyone heard it. You, Sterling, said if you lost, you'd crawl from the starting line to the finish line, calling yourself a loser."
Who told him to be so cocky, always touching women's chins.
If Abella hadn't shown up in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Clea knew Abella had made the bet to stand up for her. Grateful, she stood her ground, saying, "Today, you have to crawl from the starting line to the finish line, or none of us will let you off!"
The crowd started chanting, "Crawl! Crawl! Crawl!"
"I'm not crawling. What are you going to do about it?" Sterling stubbornly refused, his neck stiff with defiance.
Hearing that Dennis had abandoned him, the drift team members started to back away, no longer supporting him.
The Boeing team began to surround Sterling. "Are you going to crawl or not?"
Sterling hadn't expected that the people who had been behind him moments ago were now nowhere to be seen.
He started to feel a bit nervous.
Some spectators who disliked him began to gather around, condemning him. "Are you a man or not? Keep your word."
"If you have any guts, crawl from the starting line to the finish line. I'd respect you for owning up to it."
"You're a disgrace to men."
Meanwhile, Sean had been waiting for Abella to return, but she hadn't. He found out she had left via another route.
Though a bit disappointed, he was glad to know she was part of the Boeing team.
He pushed open a small gate in the iron fence and saw a crowd surrounding Sterling, demanding he keep his promise.
At the back of the crowd was someone from the Boeing team, probably named Della.
Sean approached, "Hey, are you Della?"
Before he could ask about the girl who had driven, Della snapped, "Can't you see we're busy?"
Sean was speechless.
Sterling remained defiant, refusing to crawl.
Some people couldn't stand it anymore and started beating him up. Della joined in, kicking him a few times.
Seeing everyone busy, Sean asked his people to find out the girl's name.
"And keep an eye on the Boeing team's upcoming race schedule." He guessed the girl would show up again!
He had to be there to support her!
Meanwhile, Lola woke up to find herself in a guest room in the next building, with several types of medicine on the nightstand.
At first, she thought her parents had sent someone to bring her back and prepared the medicine for her. But a look at her phone revealed it was Jacob who had prepared the medicine and brought her back.
There was only a message from Jacob, telling her to take care of herself.
When Lola saw that her parents were really going to kick her out of the Medici Villa and even told Abbie to stop bringing her food, leaving her to fend for herself, her heart sank, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She couldn't believe what was happening to her.
Although the race had ended a while ago, Sean couldn't get Abella's beautiful face out of his mind.
He called Phillipe, "Phillipe, you know what? She won! She won the race tonight! She was amazing!"
Phillipe had been about to call Abella, but Sean's call came first. If he'd known it was about that girl again, he wouldn't have answered. His ears were tired of hearing about her.
"Phillipe, you know what? She's a racer! She loves racing just like I do. She's perfect for me!"
Phillipe coldly retorted, "Are you dreaming already?"
"Phillipe! You haven't seen her race. She's so cool!"
Phillipe remembered Abella's driving when she was rushing to the hospital. She had driven very fast.
"No one is better than my fiancée," Phillipe acknowledged.
"Can your fiancée race? Is she a professional racer?" Sean was clearly a bit competitive.
"Not professional, but better than professional. You're getting cocky. Do you want me to have my people beat you up to wake you up?"
'Dare to question Abella? She is the best in the world! No doubt about it!' Phillipe thought.
"You don't know. She's tall, slim, beautiful, and elegant. She even looks younger than I. I don't know if she's of age yet. Anyway, if you saw her, you'd think she's the most beautiful girl in the world. I'm not lying."
Phillipe was unimpressed. He had never seen anyone more elegant and beautiful than Abella. "If you have nothing else, I'm hanging up."
Before Sean could say more, Phillipe hung up and called Abella.
