Chapter 1060 There Are Two People Who Won't Be Saved

In the long corridor, a few doctors and nurses heard the alarm and rushed towards Lola's ICU room.

No one from the Medici family cared about her condition; they didn't even glance back.

Henry and Briar waited outside the room.

After a while, Henry's phone rang.

He walked out to the large terrace on that floor and demanded, "Is this all your doing?"

"You can't put it that way," The mysterious voice on the other end, altered by a voice changer, remained cold and mechanical. "You knew her condition back then. The bacterial infection had caused systemic failure, and even God couldn't help her. I happened to have an experimental drug, but it hadn't been fully tested."

"I thought it was some miracle cure, but it was just an experimental drug," Henry gripped his phone tightly, seething with anger.

"If you could go back in time, you'd still choose it, because you had no other option, right?"

The mysterious voice only fueled Henry's rage.

"Experimental drugs can have minor issues. Don't worry, I have the antidote."

"How do I know your antidote is safe?" Henry asked through gritted teeth.

"Once she takes the antidote, all symptoms will disappear, and she can be discharged safely." The voice remained emotionless.

"But the antidote only works temporarily. We're working on a final cure, which should be ready in a month. This isn't just for you; we have other uses for it. If you cooperate, I'll save a dose for you."

"So, if Lola doesn't take the final cure, she won't fully recover?" Henry asked.

"Correct."

Henry, filled with anger, suppressed his emotions and asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"The daughter of the Medici family..." The mysterious voice paused. "Her existence is a problem."

Henry understood. "I promised the Medici family I wouldn't harm any of them."

The voice scoffed, "Do you still have a choice?"

"If I hadn't made that promise, I wouldn't have been able to get Lola out that night."

"That's your problem, not mine," The voice remained cold and ruthless. "She won't last three days. Do what you need to."

With that, the call ended abruptly.

Henry clenched his phone, closed his eyes, and made a decision.

After showing the Medicis around the hospital, Herbert conducted full check-ups on Carl and Winslow.

At his enthusiastic invitation, Beckett and Kimberly also had check-ups.

"You're all in good health," Herbert said, smiling as he looked at the reports.

"That's thanks to Abella. I used to have neck and shoulder pain and fatigue. My wife had insomnia and would get short of breath after a short walk. After taking Abella's pills, those symptoms disappeared," Beckett said, smiling.

"Abella has really helped us," Kimberly added. "We won't take up more of your time, Mr. Clark. Thanks for showing us around and personally overseeing our check-ups."

"I should be thanking you," Herbert said, walking them to the parking lot. "These medical devices will help so many patients. Your visit also encourages others to prioritize their health."

As the Medici family's car arrived, Herbert opened the door for Carl and Winslow.

"Come by for coffee sometime," Carl invited with a smile.

"I will," Herbert nodded, smiling, and then opened the door for Beckett and Kimberly to get into another car.

"Abella, ride with me," Steven called, opening his car door.

"Ride with me. I plan to take you and Camila to the amusement park," Ethan said, opening his door.

"Ride with me. It's been a while since we spent time together," Winston and Dennis chimed in.

"Abella, hurry up. I don't want to be recognized," Blake, wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a mask, urged.

"I drove myself. You all go ahead. My car is over there."

Just then, someone called out to her. "Abella!"

She turned to see Henry running towards her.

"I need to talk to you."Henry seemed urgent, but Dennis stepped forward and pushed him back. "Enough is enough."

"I really need to talk to Abella."

"Get lost," Dennis warned. "Come near my sister again, and you'll regret it."

"Someone wants to harm you," Henry said desperately, looking at Abella. "When I took Lola from the Medici family, she was barely alive. A mysterious person gave me a drug, but I had to do three things for him..."

Henry explained everything. "He didn't say what the tasks were. Lola improved after taking the drug, but recently she relapsed, and no doctor could find the cause. He called and said the drug was experimental. To get the antidote, I have to eliminate you. I don't want to be your enemy or the Medici family's. Can you save Lola?"

Beckett and Kimberly, still in the car, were shocked to hear someone had sent Henry to kill their precious daughter.

"Who is he?" Kimberly asked.

"I don't know," Henry admitted. "His voice was altered. I tried to investigate but found nothing."

Kimberly's heart sank. Could it be that someone feared Abella's intelligence and wanted to silence her?

Abella looked at him calmly. "There are two people I won't save in this life: Isla and Lola."

The Wilsons had caused Vilma's death, so she would never help them.

Lola had tried to kill her multiple times. Even in the ICU, Lola suspected Abella had poisoned her. Such a person wasn't worth saving.
