Chapter 881 Hit the Mark
Dennis chuckled, surprised that Abella was not only brave and resourceful but also quite impressive. "I know my own body well."
Even though he had been hit on his wound last night, the symptoms shouldn't be this severe. Since Abella had described the timing and symptoms so clearly, he wanted to see if everything would happen as she said tonight.
"Excuse me." Abella left openly with Theo.
"Mr. Medici..." Louie was about to ask Dennis if he was really letting them go, but seeing Dennis smile.
Did Dennis actually believe what Abella said?
"Mr. Medici, did you cough up blood last night?" Louie asked with concern.
"It's nothing." Dennis sent the little tiger to play elsewhere and stood up, walking step by step upstairs.
His response shocked Louie, who realized that Abella had guessed right that Dennis really coughed up blood.
Was Abella really that capable?
How did she know so clearly?
Thinking carefully, those two seemed to be the only ones who could appear here unharmed and leave unharmed.
As Theo followed Abella out of the main house, the originally playful hunting dogs all sat down, tongues out, watching them leave.
They looked as obedient as could be.
Theo found it hard to believe. Even as they left the villa's front yard, he still found it hard to believe and looked back several times.
The little guys were still sitting obediently, showing no signs of chasing them.
"Ms. Medici, those dogs didn't chase us, and no one followed. You're amazing." Theo admired her even more.
They left Dennis's place unscathed, and made those hunting dogs so obedient.
"By the way, Ms. Medici, how did you know Mr. Medici coughed up blood last night?"
"I hit him. How could I not know?" Abella had struck hard last night. In that situation, combined with Dennis's existing injury, coughing up blood was normal.
"Forget about them. I think you're amazing." Theo glanced back again and whispered, "Ms. Medici, will those symptoms you mentioned really happen tonight?"
"They will."
Abella's firm answer left Theo even more puzzled, "Is Mr. Medici really that badly injured? It sounds terrible..."
"It's quite serious, but not to the point where he needs surgery in the next two days."
Even if it were delayed by a month or two, it would be fine.
"But you convinced him to have surgery in the next two days and sell the island to you..." Theo thought Abella was extraordinary.
"I spiked the wine earlier, so tonight, at the times I mentioned, the effects will kick in."
He would experience the symptoms she described: shortness of breath, suffocation, coughing up blood.
"What did you say?" Theo's eyes widened. He quickly looked back to make sure no one was following them, then whispered, "Ms. Medici, you spiked the wine right in front of them? You're incredible. But if the doctors find out tonight."
"So what? There's no antidote; they'll have to come to us for the cure."
Her drug wasn't toxic and wouldn't be life-threatening, just causing some suffering.
Without doing this, neither of them would leave unharmed tonight.
She could tell Louie had wanted to catch her more than once.
"But Mr. Medici isn't easy to deal with. If he finds out we tricked him, even after the surgery, we won't be able to escape."
"I've got a plan for that."
Theo was taken aback by Abella's foresight and admired her even more.
"His injury is something only a handful of people in the world can treat," Abella said.
If it were easily treatable, he wouldn't have lasted this long.
By performing the surgery a day early, she would save him a day of suffering, which was a big help.
Theo let Abella board the speedboat first, then drove it away. After docking, he drove Abella back to the hotel.
In the presidential suite, Abella first reported her safety to Phillipe, then handled some work, took a shower, and went to bed.
At midnight, Dennis felt a tightness in his chest. While reading documents, he suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
"Mr. Medici..." Louie checked the time. Abella was right; it was midnight, and Dennis really coughed up blood.
"It's nothing." Dennis didn't take it seriously, thinking it was just a coincidence. He wiped his lips and continued reading the documents.
A servant immediately came forward to clean the floor.
After a few minutes, Dennis tossed the documents to Louie, "What kind of garbage plan is this? Have him redo it."
"Yes."
Louie was about to suggest calling a doctor when Dennis said, "You can leave now."
Although Louie was worried, seeing Dennis heading to take a shower, he bowed and said, "I'll take my leave then."
As he reached the front yard, the hunting dogs barked at him incessantly.
"You little things bark at me every time you see me. When those two came, you didn't bark. What, only Mr. Medici and those two are your masters?"
Indeed, it was Louie who fed them and gave them water regularly.
A few hunting dogs still barked at him, making Louie a bit angry, "Ungrateful dogs..."
How did those two manage to make the dogs obey them on their first encounter?
"Still barking?" Louie pretended to hit them.
Finally, they quieted down.
Louie looked up at Dennis's room light, worrying that Abella was right.
She had already been right several times. So it was better safe than sorry.
Thinking this, he took out his phone and secretly called a few doctors, asking them to be ready.
He then went to his exclusive guest room, keeping an eye on the master bedroom.
In every one of Dennis's houses, there was an exclusive guest room for Louie. Initially, he was deeply moved, but later realized it was to better serve Dennis.
But he was willing!
Having followed Dennis for years, although Dennis appeared arrogant, he was actually a good person.
At 1:59 AM, Louie fought off sleepiness, staring at the clock. At 2:00 AM, there was still no movement from Dennis's room.
If Dennis was asleep, knocking on the door now would be asking for trouble. So he held his breath, waiting from 2:00 to 2:06 AM.
The master bedroom light didn't come on, and there was no sound.
Louie finally relaxed, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
In the master bedroom, Dennis felt short of breath. He sat up but still couldn't catch his breath...
He checked his watch; it was indeed 2:00 AM.
Abella was right again?
He took some regular medication from the bedside table, swallowed two pills, and lay back down to rest.
