Chapter 22

"Starting price of 30 thousand."

Hearing the electronic voice, Clare sighed in amazement, "Even the scraps are worth 30 thousand."

In front of the glass wall, there were three buttons labeled '15 thousand', '75 thousand', and '150 thousand' respectively.

This meant that the minimum markup was 15 thousand once.

Looking out, Lola saw blue numbers appearing on the glass walls of other private rooms. After several rounds of bidding, the price had risen to 180 thousand.

"Lola, that looks good. You can buy it and make soup for Sir Bourbon. It's good for his health. Besides, if you let him know you can cook, he'll definitely appreciate you."

Lola also wanted to get her hands on this treasure. But unfortunately, others were too competitive. She pressed 15 thousand several times but failed to win it over. In the end, she made up her mind and directly pressed 150 thousand!

Then, the whole space fell silent.

"375 thousand going once!"

"375 thousand going twice!"

"375 thousand going thrice! Sold!"

Clare didn't expect that even by-products could be sold at such high prices. "Abella, if you get any by-products in the future, give them to me, please?"

Abella looked at her with interest. "You? Can you handle them?"

Clare chuckled, "Well. You can help me!"

Lola was excited after finally getting hold of this treasure and hugged Sophia tightly.

The next few items were all porcelain which Lola wasn't interested in, so she left early.

Two hours later, the final item came out.

"Mr. Bourbon, it's the Weed of Heart," Gabriel said.

Six fresh green plants rose from the stage floor. Nourished by some special potion, they looked very delicate.

"Starting price, 150 thousand dollars," the system announced.

Gabriel knew that Phillipe was determined to get those things, so he directly pressed the "150 thousand" button.

Everyone else was shocked by the large blue number from room 1. They thought, '150 thousand! They obviously wanna buy those weeds of heart!'

The guests in other private rooms also followed suit.

"375 thousand."

"450 thousand."

"525 thousand."

"600 thousand."

Seeing this, Clare asked Abella, "How much should we bid?"

"Add another 150 thousand," Abella said lightly.

Clare pressed the button, and the total amount immediately rose to 750 thousand!

The whole scene was in an uproar now.

750 thousand was the price of one Weed of Heart, not six!

Six of them meant a total of 4.5 million!

This time, others didn't dare to follow. Just as Clare and Abella thought they had won, a big blue number appeared on Room No. 1's glass wall: 900 thousand.

Seeing that number, everyone was even more shocked!

Abella and Clare didn't expect Room No. 1 to raise the bidding price by such a huge margin.

Room No. 3 refused to back down. "1.05 million."

Room No. 1 calmly followed up. "1.2 million."

Room No. 3 furiously shouted out, "1.35 million."

Room No. 1 remained calm. "1.5 million."

Others fell silent, watching these two bidders compete against each other.

In between them, a man in Room No. 2 felt inferior, complaining to himself, 'Why do I have to be sandwiched between them? It's too embarrassing!'

"Abella, we can't keep up. One Weed of Heart can only make one pill, which sells for 1.5 million also!" said Clare, looking nervously at Room No. 1. "Looks like we met someone today. We should stop."

"The Weed of Heart can save my grandma's life." Refusing to give up, Abella raised the price by another 150 thousand. "I must take it down today."

"Abella!"

"1.65 million dollars in Room No. 3," the system reported to all.

The whole audience gasped in disbelief. 'That stuff can be sold for 1.65 million each! Who's in Room No. 3? So rich!' they yelled inwardly.

"Mr. Bourbon." Gabriel didn't expect their competitor to bid so fiercely. He asked, "Do we still need to continue? It has exceeded the value of the plant itself."

"Press the button." Phillipe's eyes were cold, and his voice was chilly. "Bid more."

"Yes!"

Gabriel pressed the '150 thousand' button three times.

"2.1 million dollars in Room No. 1," the system reported to all.

Hearing this, Clare got really angry, "Seriously? This is ridiculous! Just a few herbs! Do they really have to do that? Who's in that room? They're so rich!"

One herb cost 2.1 million dollars, which made six of them 12.6 million dollars.

That wasn't something ordinary people could afford!

"We got 2.25 million dollars in Room No. 3."

The system's voice sounded as Abella pressed the bidding button again.

Clare looked at Abella in shock. "Abella, what are you doing?"

This time, the total price had reached 13.5 million.

Even if six pills were made and sold out to break even at 9 million dollars, there would still be a loss of 4.5 million dollars!

Just then, Phillipe's phone rang.

It was from Ryan's nurse.

"Mr. Bourbon, something is wrong! Sir Bourbon had a fever after drinking Miss Lola's soup. Doctors said Sir Bourbon's condition worsened again, and he's now in the emergency room. Please come over!"

Phillipe's eyes narrowed, and he asked in a cold tone, "What's in that soup?"

"She said it was a kind of tonic. It's good for the heart," the nurse answered with fear.

"You just let it go?" Phillipe asked, suppressing his rage.

"I had no choice. Sir Bourbon was thrilled when he saw Miss Lola. He didn't listen to me and insisted on drinking it all." the nurse replied.

Immediately, Phillipe stood up and left the room.

"Mr. Bourbon, we quit?" After asking so, Gabriel sensed Phillipe's unhappy aura. "Something happened to Sir Bourbon?"

"He drank Lola's soup and is now in the emergency room," Phillipe replied with his icy tone.

Gabriel followed Phillipe closely, asking, "Should we ask Abella for help?"

Hearing this, Phillipe stopped in his tracks. Abella's figure suddenly popped up in his mind. He still remembered her confident figure with a surgical knife in her hand.

"Last time, Abella saved Sir Bourbon from death! Don't you have Abella's phone number? Call her!" Gabriel suggested.

Phillipe glanced at him before taking out his phone.

Meanwhile, the auction continued.

"2.25 million dollars!"

Clare held her breath and clasped her hands together, praying non-stop. "Let it stop there, please..."

"2.25 million dollars twice!"

Abella looked at Room No. 1, noticing that they temporarily had no intention of raising the price.

"Last chance! Sold!"

"Yeah!" Clare hugged Abella excitedly. "We got it! We got it!"

She felt lucky that Room No. 1 couldn't keep up and dared not continue!

"Congratulations to Room No. 3 for winning six weeds of heart!" the system announced.

"Abella, we finally won!" Clare was thrilled beyond words.

Just then, Abella's phone suddenly vibrated.

She looked down and saw that it was an unknown number calling.

After she picked up, a voice sounded, "It's me, Phillipe."
