Chapter 932 He Doesn't Deserve You

After Dennis finished his warning, he turned back to Abella with a look full of affection. "Come on, let's head upstairs and grab some fruit."

Abella nodded and followed Dennis.

The basement door was locked, and Lola lay in the icy water, clenching her fists in shame as tears streamed down her face.

In the living room, Dennis carefully peeled the grapes, but despite his efforts, the surface of the grapes was still uneven and far from smooth.

Growing up, he had never peeled fruit for himself. He found it too troublesome, and usually, the servants would peel and cut the fruit before serving it to him.

"What a mess," Dennis muttered, dissatisfied with the peeled grape, and tossed it into the trash before starting on another one.

Peeling grapes was harder than dealing with people.

At the speed he was peeling, he could have taken down several people.

"Abella getting a grape peeled by you is no easy task," Kimberly, who was also peeling grapes for Abella, said. Her movements were quick, and soon she had peeled seven or eight grapes, placing them in Abella's glass fruit bowl, each one smooth and perfect.

"When I'm not home, you must peel a lot for Abella. Now that I'm back, can you give me a chance to show off? If you peel them all, what am I supposed to do?"

Dennis turned to Beckett, "Dad, after dinner, why don't you two take a walk in the garden? Enjoy the scenery and strengthen your relationship?"

"I'm just worried Abella will have to wait too long..." Before Kimberly could finish, Beckett chimed in with a smile, "Dennis is right. We haven't gone out for a walk in days. Since everyone is here, let's take a walk after dinner and get some fresh air."

"And walking a few extra laps will help keep you in shape," Dennis added. "Abella's wedding is coming up, and you don't want to be out of shape for that. It would be a lifelong regret."

Beckett and Kimberly agreed. They needed to stay in shape, not just for the distant wedding, but also for the big Easter homecoming party they planned for Abella. They couldn't afford to have any belly fat!

"Then peel quickly for Abella, don't keep her waiting," Kimberly instructed before getting up.

"I'll get you a coat; it's cold outside," Beckett said as he went to prepare.

The living room was left with Dennis, Abella, and Louie.

Louie felt out of place and checked the time nervously. "Mr. Medici, if there's nothing else, I'll be going?"

"What? Waiting for me to peel grapes for you?"

Dennis's familiar sarcasm made Louie swallow hard. He turned to Abella, "Ms. Medici, I'll be leaving now..."

"Take care."

After Louie left, only Dennis and Abella remained.

Dennis had mentioned the wedding earlier, which was like rubbing salt in Abella's wound. He glanced at her instinctively.

Sean had just broken up with Abella.

Though she seemed unaffected, eating grapes, her heart must have been aching.

"Abella, there's no one else here. If you're feeling down, you can cry on my shoulder."

Abella looked puzzled.

"I know your boyfriend." Dennis started, but then changed his mind. "He's not good enough for you."

Abella's expression grew more confused. Phillipe wasn't good enough for her? Then who was?

"I think he's quite suitable." Abella's casual remark made Dennis pause. What had Sean done to win Abella's heart so thoroughly that even after the breakup, she still thought highly of him?

He had to find a way to make Abella forget him completely.

"Trust me, I'll find someone better for you," Dennis said, finally peeling a decent grape and placing it in Abella's fruit bowl. He was about to introduce Phillipe.

Abella's confusion deepened. "No need to trouble yourself."

She was fine with Phillipe and wasn't interested in anyone else.

"Compared to you, he's far inferior."

Dennis's words puzzled Abella even more. "Do you know him? Do you have a grudge against him?"

"It's not about grudges. I just think he's not good enough for you."

Abella replied, "Dennis, you just got home and are already meddling in my personal affairs."

"It's not meddling. I'm just worried you'll be deceived. You're still young..."

"Dennis, I have no plans to break up with him right now, so you don't need to persuade me."

Dennis felt a sharp pang in his heart. He hadn't expected Abella to be so strong-willed and determined to reconcile.

Was Sean really that good?

If she lowered herself and reconciled, she'd be controlled by Sean after marriage!

Abella was so smart and capable, yet so blind in love.

"What exactly is so good about him?" Dennis couldn't understand.

"He's good in every way," Abella said bluntly. "I like everything about him."

Dennis couldn't believe he was hearing this from Abella.

"Don't worry, Dennis. He won't mistreat me." Abella finished the grapes in her bowl. "Alright, I'm going to take a shower. You don't need to peel anymore."

"Abella..." Dennis thought she was angry and sent messages to several people.

Dennis: [Do you know Abella has a boyfriend? What do you think of him? Is he good?]

Soon, his phone vibrated with replies.

Steven: [Respect Abella's choice.]

Ethan: [As long as Abella likes him.]

Winston: [I think her boyfriend is pretty good. I quite like him.]

Dennis felt speechless after reading the replies.

He couldn't just sit back and do nothing.

Tomorrow, he would find Phillipe and make sure he pursued Abella properly!

After Abella finished her shower, she heard a knock on the door.

It was Dennis.

Dennis was worried Abella might be upset by his earlier words, so he had come to see her. "Abella, how about we play a game?"

Abella was puzzled. It was so late, what game could they play?
