Chapter 608 I Have Something to Tell You

Lola sent a happy emoji.

Henry saw her joy and softened his gaze, even smiling a bit.

Henry: [Wanna come out and play? I'm just outside.]

Lola: [No.]

Lola wanted to stay home and try to get close to Vanessa.

Henry: [Alright, rest up. Let me know if you change your mind, and I'll come get you.]

Lola: [Okay.]

After replying, Lola ignored him and took out her phone to capture the beautiful scene, planning to save it for her Stories later.

It was too soon to announce Henry as her boyfriend. She'd wait until his value increased and then decide.

In the garden, Vanessa had something to say to Abella, but as she gathered her thoughts, she saw the sky filled with smiley face balloons, looking stunning against the snowy landscape.

"Who set this up?" Vanessa admired with a smile. "It's really pretty."

"Do you like it, Grandma?" Abella smiled. "Let me take a picture of you."

"Why don't we take one together?" Vanessa called a servant over to help take a few photos.

With the snowy backdrop and pink balloons, Abella squatted to be level with Vanessa's wheelchair, and both smiled at the camera.

The happy face balloons made the photos look especially joyful and beautiful.

The servant took several photos, then suddenly exclaimed, "It's snowing, Mrs. Harris, Ms. Abella Medici, wait a moment, let me take a few more pictures for you?"

The falling snowflakes made the scene even more magical.

From a distance, Lola saw Vanessa and Abella using her balloons as a photo backdrop!

Henry had gone to great lengths to prepare this surprise for her, but it ended up being someone else's backdrop!

She was a bit upset, and soon her parents, uncle, and Blake ran to the garden, all wanting pictures too.

The scene was very lively.

Lola felt she couldn't be left out, so she hurried to the garden.

"Great, very good, this pose is nice, hold it." The servant clicked a few more shots, seeing everyone smiling brightly. "Shall we change poses?"

"It's my turn!" Blake grabbed Abella's arm and wouldn't let go. "You've all had your turn standing next to Abella, now it's my turn!"

"Blake, how can you be so inconsiderate?" Kimberly was annoyed and quietly scolded him. "You don't even let your uncle have a turn, and now you're not letting me! Do you remember who went through all the pain to give birth to you?"

"Mom, who was it that wanted a daughter and not a son? Who cried out of anger when I was born?" Blake clung tightly to Abella's arm. "Anyway, I want to take a few pictures with Abella. You can talk to Grandma about it."

"Mom, look at your grandson, he's so infuriating!" Kimberly was a bit helpless and looked at Vanessa with pleading eyes.

"Blake is being very inconsiderate. You won't be like him, will you? You and Beckett and James stand at the back!" Vanessa said.

Kimberly was left speechless.

The snow was getting heavier, and after finally taking the last photo, the butler hurried over with people to hold umbrellas for them.

"It's too cold, Grandma, let me push you back inside." Abella was worried that Vanessa might catch a cold in the freezing weather.

"Alright, alright." Vanessa was so happy today she couldn't stop smiling.

A servant ran over with scarves and woolen hats, and Abella quickly helped Vanessa put them on.

Vanessa looked at her considerate granddaughter and felt even warmer inside.

When Lola arrived, Abella was pushing Vanessa, and the family was walking back, chatting and laughing, as if they had finished taking photos.

Lola's steps awkwardly halted, and seeing them in the snowy landscape, she suddenly felt like a complete outsider.

"Lola, what are you doing here? Come inside, it's cold out," Beckett called out, noticing her standing at the door.

"I, I came to get Grandma," Lola tried to hide her emotions and smiled. "Abella, let me push her. You've been taking care of Grandma for a long time."

"I'm tired and need to rest," Vanessa said, meaning she didn't want to chat anymore. But then she remembered she had something to say to Abella earlier, so she added, "Abella, take me back to my room. I have something to tell you."

Lola was stunned and felt very awkward. She didn't understand why Vanessa was so close to Abella after waking up. Even if there was some blood relation, it shouldn't be to the point of being inseparable.

Even if Vanessa liked Abella, it shouldn't be to the extent of ignoring her and making her feel so awkward.

"Lola, you should go rest too," James noticed her disappointment and awkwardness and tried to smooth things over.

Lola felt very humiliated. She didn't believe Vanessa had so much to say to Abella. It was just an excuse to get rid of her, the granddaughter without blood relation.

Lola thought, 'All the talk of being tired and weary is just an excuse! Grandma just wants to talk to Abella alone, that's all!'

Lola looked at Abella with a bit of resentment.

She wondered what Abella had done to make everyone revolve around her.

Abella sensed her displeasure and jealousy and started pushing Vanessa back to the room.

Meanwhile, Kimberly was still looking at the photos, and Beckett told her to take a nap, so they both went upstairs.

"Lola," James saw Lola's emotions and wanted to comfort her.

Lola said calmly, "It's okay, Uncle James, I'll go take a nap first."

She forced a smile.

"Don't take it to heart."

"I know, don't worry, Uncle James."

In the bedroom, Abella and a servant helped Vanessa lie down and then covered her with a blanket.

"Abella, I have something to tell you," Vanessa held Abella's hand and, after a moment of thought, said, "It's like this, I don't know if your mother has told you about your grandfather's condition. Your medical skills are so advanced, you even managed to handle my difficult situation. I want to ask you to take a look at him, so we don't have to be separated."

Abella understood. So that was it.

She only knew her grandfather wasn't in good health but didn't know the specifics.

Vanessa explained, "It's like this, I have a daughter and two sons. My eldest son is Caleb, and my younger son is James. Caleb is with your grandfather in another country seeking medical treatment, and James is with me in Sunhavenia."

Although today was Christmas, making such a request might not be appropriate.

But there probably wasn't a doctor in the world more skilled than Abella.
