Chapter 577 Not a Big Problem
Abella followed James through the fancy living room to the master bedroom on the first floor.
Inside, they saw huge windows overlooking a garden that looked like a fairy tale.
The room was set up as a cozy coffee room, with a walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and finally the bedroom.
On the luxurious bed lay an elderly woman, surrounded by medical equipment showing her vital signs.
A caregiver and a servant stood by, bowing as they entered.
"This is the famous doctor we invited, Abella," James introduced her. "Tell her about Mrs. Harris' condition."
"Yes," the servants replied respectfully, then turned to Abella and said, "Ms. Medici."
"Just call me Abella," she said, sitting down to check Vanessa's pulse.
Mark held his breath, waiting for Abella's diagnosis.
James watched her, feeling a bit nervous.
He never thought he could actually get Abella, the renowned medical expert.
People said it was nearly impossible to find her and even harder to get her to see a patient.
Abella stayed calm. After a careful check, she said, "It's not a big problem."
James and Mark sighed in relief, their faces lighting up.
The servants were surprised. Many experts had been stumped by Vanessa's condition. Even Mark, a top medical authority, couldn't find a solution.
Abella was the first to say it wasn't a big deal.
She looked young, maybe in her teens. If not for her confident demeanor and cool elegance, one might think she was a fraud.
But if she were a fraud, she wouldn't dare deceive James.
It meant Abella was very capable.
"She needs multiple medications," Abella said, asking for paper and pen, and wrote down three prescriptions. "These are for the first three days. I've noted the order, method, and frequency. Just follow these."
The servant quickly took the prescriptions and handed them to James.
James looked at the elegant handwriting, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.
He didn't expect Abella's handwriting to be as impressive as she was.
"Follow these," James said, handing the prescriptions to his subordinates, fully trusting Abella.
Mark looked at the prescriptions and couldn't help but praise them.
"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I didn't think of combining these medications," Mark said, impressed. "Ms. Medici's prescriptions maximize efficacy and are gentle on the patient, unlike mine, which had side effects."
He knew Vanessa experienced chest tightness, a bitter taste, and fatigue from his medications, but he had no better options.
With James' consent, he had used those medications to keep Vanessa alive.
After a bus accident, Abella pointed out the side effects, and he stopped using them.
But he couldn't find better alternatives.
Luckily, they found Abella, and she had time to come over.
Seeing Abella's prescriptions, Mark realized he wasn't as skilled as he thought. He had a lot to learn.
"These are just for the first three days. I'll adjust the meds based on Mrs. Harris' condition," Abella said.
You can't prescribe everything at once; it depends on how Vanessa responds.
James was immensely grateful, shaking her hand again. "Thank you so much. You've lifted a huge weight off my shoulders."
He had taken Vanessa everywhere for help, but nothing worked. Now, he felt hopeful again, all thanks to Abella.
Mark asked, "Ms. Medici, if Mrs. Harris improves and the meds work, how long until she recovers?"
"One to three months, depending on her response," Abella replied.
Without surgery, recovery would take longer. Surgery would be quicker, but it depended on her condition.
James felt there was still a long road ahead, but with Abella around, he felt confident.
"Thank you, Ms. Medici," Mark said, feeling reassured. "Do you have any other plans? If you have time, we can arrange for you to stay here."
"Yes, stay here," James added.
"I have matters to attend to in Libertya," Abella said.
Nicole's condition was more severe than Vanessa's. If a cure wasn't found soon, her body wouldn't hold up.
"What about Mrs. Harris' follow-up treatment?" Mark asked.
"Three days later, update me on her condition, and I'll guide you on the next steps," Abella said, standing up. "I have to go now."
She had promised to meet Kimberly today and wondered why Kimberly wanted to see her.
"In such a hurry? I wanted to treat you to a meal to thank you," James said, reluctant to see her leave.
Abella glanced at the clock and said, "Next time."
Her phone vibrated. It was a call from Sam.
"Ms. Medici, our people have taken over the Group Mr. Walker left for you. Everything is under control. Mr. Walker's subordinates respect your leadership. The directors and shareholders support you. Should we schedule a time for you to visit the Group? You haven't shown up since taking over."
Thinking of that hot summer after her SATs, when Owen Walker died before her eyes, made her heart ache.
"I'll find a time to go," she said calmly.
"Alright, I'll inform the directors and shareholders. When are you coming back?" Sam asked.
"Maybe tonight or tomorrow."
"Okay, everything is normal here. Our people are monitoring Long Island Manor and Riverside Villa, and no suspicious individuals have appeared."
"Got it, thanks." After hanging up, Abella noticed James and Mark were still waiting.
From her conversation, it was clear she was always busy.
What other roles did Abella have? She didn't seem like an ordinary person at all.
