Chapter 588 Uncle Protected His Niece
The restaurant was cozy, with waiters serving coffee and snacks. After a short break, James walked in.
"Where's Abella?" he asked, not seeing her.
"She should still be playing, right?"
The snowy scenery outside was stunning, and Abella probably wasn't done having fun. Young people have so much energy.
James texted the staff.
They quickly replied: [Ms. Medici wanted to play alone for a bit, so we didn't follow her.]
Maybe worried about getting blamed, they added: [She said she'd call if she needed anything. We also reminded her she has a whistle in her pocket.]
James: [Go find her and bring her back to rest and eat something.]
Staff: [Yes, Mr. Harris.]
They checked the surveillance and saw Abella had skied to the farthest trail and hadn't come back.
A group was quickly gathered to search for her. From a distance, they saw three figures tangled together.
Actually, two figures were attacking Abella with ski gear.
Abella was dodging, but they kept chasing and hitting her.
"Stop!" Several staff members blew their whistles and ran towards them, trying to stop the attack.
But the distance was too great, and the wind and snow muffled their voices.
Running on foot, they still had a long way to go.
A team leader called James. "Two people are attacking Ms. Medici!"
"What?" James stood up, his face icy cold.
Abella saw the staff coming from a distance. She dodged Angela and Darlene's attacks with ski poles and helmets, looking like she was watching a show.
She dodged lazily, as if they were too weak to bother with.
Angela and Darlene were furious. They couldn't believe they hadn't even touched Abella!
Seeing them exhausted and frustrated, Abella picked up her ski pole, gave them a disdainful smile, and skied towards a farther trail.
Angela and Darlene chased after her, unwilling to let her go.
The three figures disappeared from the staff's sight again.
After shaking off the staff, Abella stopped in a secluded spot and gave them a good beating.
She targeted areas covered by clothing.
Soon, Angela and Darlene were curled up on the ground, holding their heads and begging for mercy.
When the staff arrived with James on a snowmobile, they saw Abella standing unharmed, while the two attackers lay at her feet, looking badly injured.
James quickly got off and walked towards Abella, asking softly, "Are you okay? Not hurt?"
Abella shook her head and said, "No."
James had seen Abella's skills on the cruise ship and knew ordinary people were no match for her, so he was relieved.
"You've got some nerve, messing with Mr. Harris' family!" James' bodyguard team arrived and immediately grabbed their arms.
"Ah, it hurts, Mr. Harris, it's me, Angela!"
"Tell your people to let go, I'm Darlene."
James quickly pieced it together. Abella must've tried to avoid hurting them, but they pushed too far and got what they deserved.
"Mr. Harris, she bullied us! I'm in so much pain," Angela cried, pointing at Abella. If the injuries weren't on her chest, stomach, and thighs, she would've shown James.
"Mr. Harris, you can't let her get away with this. I'm covered in injuries," Darlene added, glaring at Abella.
James' demeanor turned icy, his presence making everyone shiver.
He coldly asked the staff, "Explain what happened."
"Mr. Harris, all our staff can testify that from a distance, we saw these two ladies attack first. Ms. Abella Medici was just dodging."
'So her name is Abella!' Angela and Darlene exchanged a glance, silently agreeing to find out more about her later and show her who's boss.
"Ms. Medici had no choice but to ski away, but they kept chasing her. Later, because of the speed, they disappeared from our sight."
"We're telling the truth, Mr. Harris. You can check."
"It was indeed these two who attacked first. Ms. Medici is the victim."
Angela immediately denied, "That's not true. She attacked first. Darlene and I were defending ourselves."
Darlene nodded. "She provoked us multiple times and hit us. We had no choice but to fight back. We didn't even touch her, but she seriously injured us!"
James' icy gaze fell on them, silencing them.
There was no surveillance here. They thought James couldn't do anything to them. They were already beaten up, and if their parents retaliated, James would have to give them some face. They figured this would end with Abella apologizing.
Thinking this, Angela and Darlene's eyes flashed with smugness.
"Abella, tell me what happened," James asked, his tone and gaze much gentler.
Angela and Darlene were displeased. There was definitely something going on between them.
Abella replied, "They said I could only play at the ski resort because Uncle James liked me and that my body had been used countless times."
James' anger flared up.
They dared to use such vicious words against Abella?
Abella added, "They also said that Uncle James had told them on the cruise ship to be mindful of the occasion when causing trouble. They said today was a good occasion and started attacking."
Abella's obedient demeanor made James both angry and heartbroken.
How dare they say such things about Abella and even attack her at his ski resort!
The bodyguards knew these two were done for. They could feel James' barely contained anger.
The staff looked at them with sympathy. Insulting James' niece and attacking her on his turf was a grave mistake.
