Chapter 547 Embarrassment
"I'm fine."
Lola tried to keep it together and quickly texted Maria.
Lola: [Maria, are you sure? Did Blake really give the concert tickets to Abella?]
Maria: [I was right there when Mrs. Medici called. Blake not only gave Abella the tickets, but he also gave her the best seats!]
Maria, feeling Lola's pain, couldn't help but be upset for her.
Maria: [Blake is too much. He told you there were no tickets, then gave them to Abella without a second thought!]
That hit Lola hard.
She couldn't believe Blake, who had been so sweet on the phone, was lying to her.
Maria: [You mentioned the charity gala next week, and Steven already has someone in mind. It's not Abella, is it?]
Lola was shocked. 'No way.'
Maria: [Lola, have you noticed Abella's becoming more important to them, while you're being sidelined?]
Lola couldn't hold back her emotions and told her friends, "Sorry, I need to go to the restroom."
As she left, everyone started whispering.
"Is Lola on her period?"
"Maybe. She looks so pale. Let's wait for her here."
"Honestly, Abella from Medical University is amazing at the violin!"
"Yeah, her playing blew me away. She's better than my violin teacher."
"Shh, keep it down. Do you want Lola to hear? We still need her to get close to her brothers!"
They quieted down but kept chatting softly.
"If you become her sister-in-law and I become her other sister-in-law, we can hang out all the time!"
"Hey, look, Elsa went to the restroom. Think she's going to mess with Lola?"
"Should we help Lola?"
A curly-haired girl wanted to help but was stopped by the others.
"Don't go! Remember last time Lola said Elsa beat her up at the hospital? We're no match for her, and what if our faces get messed up? How will we face people then?"
"Yeah, what if we have dinner with Steven later and our faces are bruised?"
"I still need to go to Blake's concert. I can't go with a bruised face."
Even though they knew Elsa might give Lola a hard time, the girls didn't dare to go in. They even wandered a bit farther away, pretending not to notice.
As soon as Elsa entered the restroom, she heard Lola on the phone, sounding anxious and almost tearful.
"How did it come to this, why..." Lola was nearly crying, but when she looked up, she saw Elsa in the mirror!
Lola instinctively gripped her phone tightly, unsure how long Elsa had been eavesdropping. She told the person on the phone, "I'll call you back."
Elsa crossed her arms, looking at her with a smirk. "Calling Maria for advice, huh?"
Elsa sneered, pulling out a lipstick and touching up her lips in the mirror. "What good advice can a dumb servant give?"
"Who do you think you are? Didn't you lose to Abella too? What are you showing off for?" Lola shot back, clearly unimpressed.
Elsa smiled coldly. "Abella's violin and Go skills are better than mine. I admit defeat. But you, after all these years, still play like that."
Lola clenched her fists, noticing Elsa's latest limited-edition LV lipstick, VW diamond necklace, and designer dress and heels. Where did she get all this money?
Lola suddenly remembered Elsa and her family always wore expensive things. Even her parents didn't live as extravagantly.
Seeing Lola staring at the lipstick, Elsa sneered. "An adopted child is just an adopted child. Your outfits are getting shabbier. What, the Medici family can't afford nice clothes for you anymore?"
Furious, Lola grabbed her bag and swung the chain strap at Elsa's back.
Elsa dodged and pressed Lola's head into the sink. The faucet turned on, soaking Lola's hair and face. She struggled, but Elsa held her down.
"Let me wash your hair, to strengthen our relationship."
Lola stomped back hard, her high heel digging into Elsa's foot. Elsa let go in pain, and Lola splashed water from the sink onto her.
"Bitch, I'm going to fight you!"
Lola swung her bag at Elsa again. Elsa, in pain, picked up a trash can and dumped its contents on Lola. Although Lola tried to dodge, the dirty stuff still stained her dress.
Lola almost threw up in disgust. Seeing how dirty she was, Elsa quickly kept her distance.
"Look at you now. Consider this a preview of your future. Once you leave the Medici family, I'll make sure to visit you often."
Elsa turned to leave. Lola, furious and gagging from the smell, looked at her disheveled self in the mirror and swore she'd make Elsa pay.
She took out her phone and called a friend. "Bring me a dress, any dress, right now!"
She was angry because Elsa's entrance was so obvious, her so-called friends couldn't have missed it!
