Chapter 479 How Did You Find This Place
After boarding the plane, people served them coffee, snacks, and fruit in the luxurious and beautiful living room inside.
"Winston, have something to eat first and then rest in the bedroom for a while."
There were four separate rooms on the plane; the main bedroom was hers, and there were three guest rooms, one of which had been used by the injured Sam before, while the other two had never been occupied. However, they were regularly cleaned, and the inside was neat.
"I am not tired. It's you who stayed up so late last night, woke up early today, and did experiments for so long."
Winston felt guilty, but at the same time, he realized that Abella was really different from other wealthy young ladies; she worked diligently every day.
Other wealthy young ladies focused on dressing up, attending various events, and shopping everywhere. In comparison, Abella's life was more fulfilling and meaningful.
"Oh, I just remembered something," Sitting on the single sofa, Abella, after drinking half a cup of coffee, spoke softly, "I didn't find anything related to you in Nicole's room."
Winston's expression darkened instantly upon hearing this.
Abella noticed his thoughts and explained, "Those people called her a traitor. I was thinking maybe she didn't want to involve you, so she erased everything related to you. If that's the case, then she really cares about you."
Winston's eyes lit up at the thought of this possibility, his heart suddenly restless.
"She's protecting you in her way," Abella added.
Since Nicole left, Winston had been disheartened for a year. Suddenly, being informed of this possibility made his heart feel alive again.
"We still have over ten hours until we reach our destination. Let's rest for a while." Abella got up and walked towards the main bedroom.
Guided by one of the crew members, Winston went to the guest room. He couldn't tell if it was because of the news Abella brought, but his mood was good, and he fell asleep soon.
After tricking him into sleeping, Abella busied herself with her affairs in the main bedroom until the plane landed over ten hours later.
Winston had a long sleep and woke up feeling energized. It was only 10 a.m. here, and there was a twelve-hour time difference between the two locations.
As soon as Abella got off the plane, one of Phillipe's men came to pick them up.
"Are you Miss Abella? Phillipe sent me. I'm Joe, responsible for transporting you and Winston."
"Hello."
Abella was about to get into the car when Joe stepped forward and opened the door for her before Winston. Quite considerate.
They arrived at the place where Nicole's parents were renting. It was on the ground floor of a small apartment with a small courtyard where clothes were hung out to dry.
Abella rang the doorbell, and a woman came out to open the door.
It was Nicole's mother, Diana Burne. Seeing the unfamiliar young girl in front of her, she was puzzled. But when she saw Winston standing beside her, she instantly understood that they were together.
"How did you find this place?" Diana's impression of Winston was deep. Since her daughter left the family, this young man had been coming to their door frequently.
"Auntie Diana, I didn't mean to disturb you..." Winston was afraid that Nicole's mother would have a bad impression of him.
"We've said we have no information about Nicole." Diana was about to close the door.
Abella spoke softly, "Nicole might be in danger. We came here to help her."
Diana paused, casting a glance back at the charming young girl. How could she assist her?
"No, thank you," Diana said curtly, preparing to shut the door.
"Auntie Diana," Abella interjected, extending her hand to stop the door from closing, speaking gently, "There's already a group of people searching everywhere for Nicole's whereabouts. We must outpace them; otherwise, Nicole could truly be in danger."
Abella then pulled out her phone and displayed Diana a bottle of vitamin C.
"This substance..." Diana recalled. The small bottle had always been kept in Nicole's room. How did this girl have a photo of it on her phone? Could it be that they had been to Nicole's home and entered her room?
"You all..."
"The substance Nicole has been consuming is highly likely not vitamin C but a potent poison." Abella revealed.
Diana was about to get angry, but at the mention of a deadly poison, she found it hard to believe. "How could that be..."
That substance had been in her daughter's room for a long time. She had even witnessed her daughter consuming it with her own eyes. Before Nicole found her biological parents, she had been taking this substance! It all happened more than a year ago...
"Is What she's been ingesting in powder form?" Abella inquired, "Vitamin C usually comes in pills."
Diana's expression turned completely shocked. Yes, how had she overlooked this detail? Medications in bottles like these are typically in pill form or capsules, but Nicole's ingestion was in powder form...
If this young woman hadn't pointed it out, she wouldn't have thought much about it...
She had once seen her daughter pouring powder into the water by chance. She had even asked her daughter what it was for, and her daughter claimed it was for iron supplements and skin caring.
A few days later, when she was cleaning the rooms, she glanced at the bottle labeled vitamin C but didn't pay much attention to it.
Thinking back now, something had been off with her daughter more than a year ago!
"Why would she consume something like this... Do you have evidence to claim it's a deadly poison?" Diana could hardly remain composed, her voice trembling, asking in disbelief.
"Because people are hunting her down, calling her a traitor..." Abella could only share what she knew, trying to gain her trust as much as possible.
Upon hearing this, Diana shook her head frantically. "No, my daughter couldn't possibly be a traitor... You're speaking nonsense..."
"We don't have all the details yet; we've only found this much. We're here to dig up more clues. Winston's head over heels for Nicole, and we'd never do anything to hurt you guys. ."
Diana hesitated, then let them in. Abella's sincere eyes moved her.
Winston didn't expect Abella's explanation to persuade Diana . He looked at Abella gratefully.
Diana was still thinking about what Abella had just said, feeling a bit absent-minded.
At that moment, a man came out of the house. "Diana, who rang the doorbell? Why did you take so long?"
Diana looked up and saw her husband coming out, about to explain.
Nicole's father asked, "Why is it you again? How did you find this place, and why did you bring a girl?"
"Let them in first!" Diana was afraid of eavesdroppers and pulled his sleeve, whispering, "They are here to help Nicole."
Nicole's father was skeptical; since Nicole left, they had encountered too many unreliable people.
