Chapter 1035 Public Opinion Against Abella
"And also, there's some buzz online saying the Medici family didn't visit the injured at the hospital right away. This is probably gonna get back to your parents soon."
Abella smirked. "They just want me to go to the hospital and check on the injured, don't they?"
"You mean, there are a ton of reporters camped outside the Medici Manor and the hospital, just waiting for you to show up so they can grill you. The mastermind's goal is to make you face tough questions, embarrass you, and stir up trouble for the Medici family, tarnishing their glamorous image."
"No," Abella's expression remained calm. "Those are secondary issues. The main problem is that Abbott's identity being exposed has brought a lot of unnecessary trouble. I'll call Steven and go to the hospital on behalf of the Medici family."
Clare hurried to catch up with her. "But it sounds like this isn't a simple matter."
"If Abbott goes to the hospital and sees the injuries are severe, will she try to save them?"
"Of course! You're a doctor with a compassionate heart. If a patient is in front of you, you'll definitely try to save them!"
"But what if I try to save them and they die?"
"They just had a car accident. These minor injuries should be no problem for you."
Clare suddenly realized. "You mean the mastermind might use this opportunity to smear you. For example, if you save the injured but the mastermind secretly sabotages it and the patient dies, people online who don't know the truth will say your medical skills are poor and you caused a death. They'll question why someone so young can perform surgeries, and no matter what you do, it'll be wrong. You might even end up with a murder case and get investigated by the cops ."
Abella nodded and called Steven, explaining the situation.
After she finished the call, Clare couldn't help but ask, "Who is this mastermind? Why are they so malicious?"
The whole country was watching this. If Abella performed surgery and the patient died, the police would be under pressure and would have to bring her in for questioning.
The mastermind's goal was to ruin Abella's reputation, even to the point of life for a life.
Why were they so ruthless?
"I investigated the truth behind the fire, making it impossible for them to live peacefully like before. They just want me to visit the injured at the hospital, so I'll go."
"But what if..." Clare was worried, but suddenly understood. "You plan to turn the tables? But can you trust the injured?"
"I'll have a backup plan."
"Then I'll go with you!"
"It's best if you don't come with me now. Don't involve the Fischer family, or the mastermind will find ways to smear them too." Abella patted her shoulder and headed to the garage.
Clare watched her back, admiring her. No wonder Phillipe liked her; even Clare found herself liking this girl.
Well, there was one more trending topic she hadn't mentioned to Abella.
Clare thought about catching up but decided not to add to her troubles.
Alongside this issue, another trending topic was #Elsa Hits Someone#.
Someone had posted a surveillance video online showing Elsa and her friends shopping. In the elevator lobby, they ran into Lola. Elsa mocked her and threw money from her wallet at Lola's face, a totally insulting move.
Lola looked upset and tried to leave, but Elsa kicked her wheelchair back into place twice.
Throughout the video, Lola didn't fight back. Instead, Elsa and her friends bullied her.
Seeing Elsa's actions, people online couldn't help but criticize her.
[I didn't expect Elsa to be so mean. I thought she was just a spoiled rich girl, but her behavior is so crude.]
[Everyone used to criticize Lola. Now I wonder if we were wrong. Maybe Abella and Elsa are the real villains, using their wealth and power to manipulate public opinion.]
[That's very possible. How else could a freshman have so many impressive identities?]
[I think Lola might have been wronged!]
[And I saw a video of Abella fighting with some thugs. She fought pretty fiercely. Before the Medici family found her, she was probably involved in underground activities. With skills like that, there's no way she hasn't trained!]
[Abella likes to fight, and Elsa likes to fight. Maybe this is the true nature of the Medicis. All the praise and admiration online... probably bought with money.]
In the surveillance video, Elsa's friends held Lola's hands, opened the fire escape door, and pushed Lola's wheelchair into the stairwell.
What happened inside wasn't captured, but twenty minutes later, an ambulance carried Lola out, covered in blood and barely conscious.
[Have we been misled by the Medici family all along? Maybe Lola is the real victim.]
[Is it possible the Medici family found their biological daughter and didn't want the adopted one anymore, so they smeared Lola's reputation for the sake of their image?]
[Lola hasn't spoken publicly since she was kicked out. Could there be more to the story?]
At Long Island Manor, Kimberly saw these comments and was almost faint with anger.
"Someone must have paid to spread these messages. These comments are all written by hired people."
Beckett watched the surveillance video on the trending list and murmured, "It really looks like Elsa was in the wrong. She started the fight."
"We didn't want to reveal Abella's identity before. First, we were worried about the elderly's hearts. Second, we wanted more time to bond with Abella. Third, we didn't want these rumors to disrupt her life." Kimberly was furious.
Originally, after Abella came home, there weren't so many malicious doubts. She could go wherever she wanted and handle things easily.
Now she was trending again.
The trending topic read: #Abella Appears#
As soon as her car appeared outside the hospital, it was surrounded by media reporters.
Online, people questioned why she visited patients in a luxury car. Kimberly was livid. "Abella specifically chose the most inconspicuous car, but she's still being accused of flaunting wealth! Do they expect her to buy a cheap car just to visit patients? What are these people thinking?"
She was extremely angry. This car was the cheapest one in their garage!
Abella had thought of this, but she was still criticized.
