Chapter 465 One of the Boss's Strongholds
"Yes, Miss Abella does have the blood of the Medici family but don't celebrate too soon. For the past 18 years, the one truly cherished by Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici has been Miss Lola. She's the one loved to the core by her five brothers. The depth of their bond needs no explanation; you all know it in your hearts!" Maria's words, spoken while supporting Lola carried a sense of pain and sorrow. "It's because of this profound bond that Miss Lola has more than enough reason to expel you all! If anyone dares to scheme against her or set traps, don't expect to stay in this house."
"Whether we stay in this house or not is not for you to decide alone," Lauren retorted, glaring at Lola. "Miss Lola, I've watched you grow over the years. I know you're not inherently bad. Now that you're 18, you need to learn to distinguish right from wrong and not let yourself be led astray by someone with a malicious heart."
After speaking, Lauren knelt to pick up the flowers on the ground.
These flowers, bought for $300, had now been disrespected and trampled upon, making it impossible for her to give them to Miss Abella.
It was a pity that these two individuals had ruined these beautiful flowers, which could have brought joy to Miss Abella.
"Clean up the mess," Lauren instructed the maids behind her as she left, not forgetting to remind them.
Unexpectedly, this action triggered Maria.
"You've learned to command the servants. You're just a servant yourself. You'd think you were something special because of Miss Abella, putting on airs in front of us!"
Lauren didn't want to waste time arguing with Maria, as it was futile to reason with someone so unreasonable.
She could only hope that Lola would understand. "Miss Lola, it was Miss Abella who agreed to let you stay in this house. If she had any ill intentions towards you, she could have easily used the family's debt to her as an excuse to make you leave, but she didn't."
Lauren said with sincerity, "When the master, the mistress, and her brothers treated you well, Miss Abella didn't interfere, didn't cause trouble, and never said anything negative about you in front of them."
Lauren continued, "Miss Abella has been busy outside all day; perhaps she encountered something difficult that required Winston's help. They are all in the medical field, after all. If it's a matter of life and death, it's understandable that Winston would put aside his shopping and go to help. Miss Abella is straightforward; she says anything directly."
Lola remained silent for a while, and Lauren felt that she had taken some of her words to heart, so she added, "Think about it for yourself."
After Lauren left, the maids lowered their heads and silently cleaned up the scene.
"Why are you all moving so slowly? She asked you to do some unnecessary work, wasting your time and energy," Maria couldn't help but reprimand, "In the eyes of the master and mistress, Miss Lola is the most important one. If you all have such narrow minds, you'll have a hard time in the future."
One of the maids couldn't help but speak up, "Maria, all of us were watching Lauren arrange flowers just now. She really didn't have her phone and didn't contact Miss Abella. You misunderstood her."
"You're still speaking up for her? I think you all really want to leave this..."
The maids were so frightened that they quickly finished cleaning up the mess and left.
"These fools! I'll teach them a lesson; otherwise, they won't know who's in charge of this house!" Maria huffed.
Maria angrily led Lola upstairs, cursing as they walked, "That Lauren, trying to mislead you, blackening my name in front of you, making you see clearly what's right and wrong, isn't she clearly saying that I'm the bad one! She's the one who told Miss Abella, and she still wants to be seen as a good person!"
Lola patted Maria's hand. "Don't worry, I can see clearly; I just don't know if Winston and Miss Abella have something urgent. If it's really, as Lauren said, a matter of life and death, then I misunderstood Winston and Miss Abella."
"Miss Lola? How were you bewildered by her? At this point, what urgent matter could there be that Winston had to go out? Okay, even if it's a matter of life and death, Winston could have explained it to you, but he didn't care about your feelings; he just left you and followed Miss Abella. Isn't this unreasonable?
"Winston said he would accompany me shopping another day, and he also said to let me find a friend to accompany me first, buy more things I like, and then find him for reimbursement."
After hearing this, Maria coldly smiled. "Winston is really biased. He gave Miss Abella his unlimited black card, let her buy whatever she wanted, and you can only buy things and then find him for reimbursement. If you buy too much, how can you have the face to find him for reimbursement?"
Lola's eyes dimmed. Yes, she was indeed unhappy when she heard Winston say this.
She used to think Winston was the fairest, but recently, she has always felt that Winston was biased. Just like Steven and Ethan, Winston seemed to only care about Miss Abella.
"Miss Lola, I'll go shopping with you! Since Winston said that, let's buy more and have some things on hand. It's always better than being penniless in the future," Maria urged. "Wait for me; I'll go change my clothes."
"But Maria, it's already 8:30 p.m. The mall closes at 10:30," Lola said.
"Let's buy as much as we can; pick the expensive ones, regardless of whether you like them or not!" Maria said.
Under Maria's arrangement, Lola's already unbalanced heart was completely shaken. In the end, she took Maria to the mall for a shopping spree, and both of them let go of their inhibitions, not caring about the prices.
On the other side, Abella parked the car at the entrance of Valleydale. The subordinates outside the gate, holding weapons, were a little confused when they saw their boss getting out of the vehicle, accompanied by a handsome man.
"Boss, who is this?" one of the subordinates asked.
Sam noticed the commotion and immediately came over, patting the back of his head. "Don't ask? This is the boss's brother, Winston! Put away your weapons."
The subordinates at the gate immediately put away their guns and exclaimed in surprise, "Winston..."
Winston looked at the magnificent villa in front of him. The lawn alone at the entrance was thousands of square meters. The key was that many people were patrolling with weapons, and the brightly lit villa seemed to have a mysterious aura, as if it were a sacred palace that did not allow outsiders to enter.
Winston didn't know why Sam knew his identity and called Abella "boss." No wonder Abella said on the phone that she would take him to a place, but she didn't want anyone to know, so he shouldn't make a fuss. With so many people carrying weapons, it really couldn't be made public.
"Abella, where is this?" Winston looked at the girl beside him.
Sam answered, "This is one of our boss's main bases. There are many laboratories inside, with the most advanced equipment and instruments from both domestic and international sources. Many of the world-renowned medical experiments were completed inside, just like the antidote to the SIR virus that was popular, which was researched by our boss inside."
