Chapter 303 This is Just the Beginning
Reluctantly, Mrs. Wilson contemplated the extent of Abella’s determination and capabilities. She bit her lip and said, "I was wrong. I never intended to harm her. Who knew she would be so fragile!"
These were not the words Abella wanted to hear.
The kowtowing continued, and Mrs. Wilson cried out in anguish, "I truly didn't mean to harm her. I gain nothing if she dies! My intention was for her to sell her shares. Her stake is worth $300 million. After selling it, she could keep $100 million for herself and give us the remaining $200 million for emergencies!"
Mrs. Wilson was forced down, her forehead repeatedly hitting the ground with a dull thud.
"I'm not saying I won't repay her! In five years, we will give her the money back. By then, the Wilson family's worth will have soared, and she can use the money to buy shares, which will also increase in value! It's a win-win situation, a brilliant plan! But she refuses to agree!"
The more Mrs. Wilson spoke, the more she felt misunderstood. "Jeff said yesterday that we could write her a guarantee. Otherwise, if the company fails, her 30% stake would be worthless! It's her stubborn personality!"
"Mom, Mom!" Isla sensed that Mrs. Wilson was veering of course and potentially angering Abella. She urgently whispered, "Apologize! Don't say anything else!"
Realizing she had gone too far, Mrs. Wilson lamented, "I never wanted to harm her. Her sudden death was not what I expected!"
Abella glanced at the time displayed on the big screen. After kowtowing for a full ten minutes, she raised her hand to stop the waitstaff.
All six waitstaff simultaneously stopped their actions. Mrs. Wilson breathed a sigh of relief. Those words must have touched that stubborn girl!
She really knows how to manipulate people. She believes anything you tell her.
Abella calculated the timing and knew it was the right moment. The hall’s doors suddenly swung open, and seven or eight police officers entered.
"What is happening here?" the leading officer asked sternly as soon as they entered.
Mrs. Wilson felt like she had encountered a savior and exclaimed excitedly, "Officer, you came just in time. This wicked girl forced me to kowtow. Look at my bleeding forehead. She kicked and stepped on me, causing injuries to my back! She even poured scalding tea on me and my daughter! Look, all three of us are kneeling here. It was all her doing!"
The seven or eight officers approached and stood before Mrs. Wilson upon hearing her. They saw the three of them on their knees, and the girl sitting casually on a chair, legs crossed, appearing indifferent.
The leading officer asked Mrs. Wilson coldly, "Do you have any evidence?"
"All six hundred pairs of eyes in the room saw it!"
Mrs. Wilson spoke, scanning the room, hoping for someone to step forward as a witness. Despite the lead policeman's inquiries of all the guests, not a single person dared to speak up. The entire hall fell into an uneasy silence.
Growing desperate, Mrs. Wilson exclaimed, “You—you all... That girl was so audacious just now, and you all saw it! You were witnesses, so why are you afraid of her power? Even with influence, one cannot act recklessly before the law. As humans, we cannot cross those boundaries of the law!'
Still, no one stepped forward to speak. The lead policeman urged once more, but still, no one said a word.
“Madam, if you continue to spread malicious rumors, Abella can sue you for defamation.”
Upon hearing the lead policeman's words, Mrs. Wilson became agitated. “It was clearly that wretched girl...” She paused, realizing that these policemen had just arrived, and yet they knew Abella’s name. Did they know her? With these thoughts, Mrs. Wilson suddenly had a bad premonition.
“Perfect timing,” Abella, sitting with her legs crossed confidently, exuded an air of importance.” I am making an official report. Someone here has killed my grandmother, and everyone here witnessed the evidence.”
The lead officer turned his gaze to the other guests, and immediately, many of them stood up to speak.
“Yes, we saw it. It was this woman. She hit and scolded the elderly lady, and Grandma couldn't be saved in time, leading to her death!” One said.
“I also saw it. Grandma's room had surveillance. Everyone here watched the footage!” Another one spoke up.
“I can also testify. Grandma was killed by this woman!” Someone shouted.
“It was her! She is the mastermind!”
Mrs. Wilson was truly amazed. Just moments ago, she needed someone to testify for her, but no one stepped forward. Yet now, with just one statement from Abella, they were coming forward without hesitation? She had never seen anything like it.
“I have sent the evidence to your official email. Furthermore, I’m filing a report against the Wilson couple, accusing them of causing their daughter, Miss Thomas, to fall into depression, leading to her untimely death due to heart failure, and that they also coerced and threatened Wang Lan, an employee at America's Will Registry, who has now become mentally unstable.”
Upon hearing this, the lead officer raised his hand and ordered, “Take the two of them into custody. Open a case and investigate!”
“No need for an investigation. I’ve already sent the evidence of their persecution of these individuals and their involvement in kidnapping and threats to other victims. I have already sent it to your official email half an hour ago!”
“Take them away!” With lead officers command, a few subordinates immediately approached and handcuffed the Wilson couple.
“You are a good citizen. If the evidence is conclusive, you can be commended for protecting the people,” the lead policeman commended Abella.
“Don't take my parents away,” Isla saw her parents being handcuffed and her world came crashing down. She rushed over pleading, 'Dad, Mom, what must I do? How can I save you?”
"Good girl, go find your uncle..." Mrs. Wilson's words were cut off.
"No need." Abella interrupted indifferently, "They are a whole family involved in tax evasion and other illegal activities. I have already reported everything to the police. By now, they are probably being questioned at the station."
"Fine, fine, you win Abella!" Mrs. Wilson was truly angered, feeling that Abella was intentionally ruining them, leaving them with nothing!
"Oh, by the way, I will also report her for breaking into my grandmother's villa without her permission and moving in with her entourage."
When all the guests heard Abella's words, they couldn't believe it. Mrs. Wilson could actually do such a shameless thing?
The leading police officer nodded and told his subordinates, "Take note and investigate this as well."
"Mr. Officer, this is all a misunderstanding. The villa was lent to us with Grandma's consent before she passed away!" Mrs. Wilson pleaded her case as she was being taken away from the stage, "Don't listen to this girl's nonsense. How could we possibly break open Grandma's door lock. We couldn't do something like this without her consent!"
"Your servants have already confessed, and the evidence is conclusive." Abella reached this point, stood up with a chilly demeanor, walked to Mrs. Wilson's side, and coldly curled her lips, "This is just the beginning."
