Chapter 120 I Don't Mind Sharing With Her

When Adeline emerged from the visiting room, Jasper was still leaning back in his chair, scrolling through documents on his phone.

He stood up when she approached. "All done?"

Adeline chuckled softly, "Yes."

Smiling, she teased, "Is Mr. Foster planning to have a word with his ex-fiancée?"

The term "ex-fiancée" knitted Jasper's brows ever so slightly.

After a brief moment, he replied with a faint smile, "Of course."

He glanced out the window at the sunlight and said, "Wait for me in the car. I won't be long."

Adeline shrugged and turned to leave.

She didn't care what Jasper and Molly talked about or how long their conversation would take.

Adeline gently held the brand-new digital recorder and slipped her hand into her pocket.

She had already gotten what she came for from Molly.

Before coming here, she had thought about drawing out more admissions from Molly, which, along with the evidence Bennett had compiled over the past few days, would be handed over to the police.

The charge of attempted murder was something Molly wouldn't be able to escape.

But now...

Seeing Molly shackled in chains, living in a hospital room, a ghost of her former self, Adeline felt it was unnecessary.

She had always thought that Molly, having been loved by Jasper, wouldn't face the same cold indifference from him that she did.

But Jasper's heart was more complicated than she had imagined.

Since Molly was already confined here like a criminal, there was no need to make an extra effort to send her to jail.

With these thoughts in mind, she exhaled deeply, stepped out of the hospital, opened the car door, and got in.

Inside, Ryan was sitting in the passenger seat, absorbed in his phone.
Hearing the car door, he instinctively turned his head for a glance before slumping back to his usual laid-back stance. "How long before the boss comes out?"

Adeline was busy texting Helen on her phone; she didn’t look up. "No idea."

"You sure are relaxed about it."

Ryan shifted to a more comfortable position in the driver's seat. "The boss and Miss Collins used to be an item. Aren't you worried about leaving them alone together? Old flames die hard, you know."

Her fingers never ceased dancing over her phone screen. "I don’t care."

"You don't care?"

"Should I?"

Ryan furrowed his brows, taking a severe look at Adeline. "Somehow, I always feel like you've got a thing for the boss."

"It's that kind of quiet affection," he added.

Adeline's texting paused briefly.

After a short laugh, she replied, "You're overthinking it."

Even if she had feelings for Jasper, that was six years ago.

Now, she could barely muster indifference towards him, let alone affection...

Right after she finished speaking, her phone buzzed with a new message.

It was Helen's reply.

"See you at your place tonight."

Adeline frowned slightly. "Alright."

She and Bennett had moved their luggage to Blue Bay today.

Meeting at her old home with Helen was an intelligent choice.

At least she could use the excuse of going back for some belongings as a reason to meet Helen.

It was a solid excuse than going out shopping, something Jasper couldn't suspect.

...

In the psychiatric hospital's ward

Molly, with her hair unkempt, sat on a chair, staring coldly at the man in front of her.

She had loved this man for many, many years.

If it wasn't for Adeline, she would have been his lady by now!

Adeline swooped in and took her rightful place as his madam back then.

And now, using Lauren, she had stolen her spot by his side again.

That woman, Adeline, was trouble through and through!
"I had someone look into something," the man said, his gaze fixed on Molly's face. "Not long after Adeline passed, you had a surgery in the hospital's gynecology department."

"The specific details of the operation are lost to time." He stared at her intently. "I want to know, what kind of surgery did you have at the hospital?"

Molly's eyes narrowed slightly.

There was no doubt in her mind—Jasper's sudden prying into her past procedure had been tipped by Adeline.
A smirk tinged with coldness curled the corners of Molly's lips.

It was clear that Adeline was still under the guise of someone she wasn't.

Otherwise, Jasper's demeanor wouldn't be what it was now.

With that thought, Molly's lips curved ever so slightly. "Joseph, do you want the truth?"

Jasper narrowed his eyes subtly but remained silent.

The woman laughed arrogantly. "I did indeed have a procedure at the hospital. It was a hymenoplasty."

Jasper's gaze on her turned icy. "Really?"

"Of course," she said.

Molly chuckled softly, her mouth twisted with sarcasm. "If you don't believe me, why don't you test it out?"

Her tone, a mix of mockery and provocation, caused Jasper's brows to furrow deeply.

"Didn't you go for an abortion?"

"How could I have an abortion when I've never been pregnant?"

Molly tidied her messy hair. "Before Adeline's accident, I had a few boyfriends. I lost my virginity a long time ago. But after Adeline died, you said you'd honor her will and be my fiancé in name only. So, I had that surgery. I thought you'd want to be with me sooner or later."

She made a self-deprecating laugh. "But who would have thought that I would remain untouched and unnoticed for six years?"

Her words made a vein on Jasper's forehead throb.

He had always seen Molly as a sister.

She was Adeline's closest sibling and, by extension, his.

His intentions toward her were purely to offer care and protection.

But he had never imagined that Molly had been scheming to sleep with him for the last five years!

His brow furrowed deeply. His eyes were filled with anger as he confronted her, "But I've also said I'm your brother-in-law! There'll be nothing between us!"

"Well, who knows about that?"

Molly's lips curved in a faint smile, her gaze indifferent. "When you married Adeline, you also said you'd never fall in love with her, but you did.

"When Adeline died, you vowed you'd never love again.

"Aren't you smitten with the beautiful and glamorous Adeline now?"

Her smirk took on a mocking curve. "If you could deny your feelings for her, why can’t you do it for me?"

"Is it because my breasts aren't big enough or my legs are not long enough?"

She lifted her eyes to look at Jasper, madness flickering in them. "I've been with you all these years. Why can't you see me?
"You keep saying Adeline is the one in your heart, but your eyes—they've already betrayed you. You've fallen for her, haven't you? Why can't you fall for me if you could fall for her?"

"I don't mind sharing you with her."
