Chapter 268 The Children Move Back to Blue Bay
Stella slammed the table, pointing at Adeline. "Don't think you've won! I'm Jasper's wife!"
Adeline leaned back, arms crossed. "Stella, with that attitude, you won't get far."
"It was just a few harsh words. Compared to you trying to ruin my career, it's nothing."
"I haven't even made you face the consequences yet, and you're already this worked up?"
Stella glared, trembling with anger. Finally, she snorted, "Good thing I'm not your sister. Sharing blood with you would make me sick!"
Adeline smirked, "Likewise."
Stella clenched her teeth, about to say something when someone from afar recognized her.
"Isn't that hysterical woman, Mrs. Foster?"
"Yeah, Jasper Foster's wife. Her photos were all over those missing person notices."
"Why is she so angry, with no grace at all?" The murmurs in the coffee shop continued. Stella's face turned ugly.
In the end, she shot Adeline a fierce glare and left, clearly embarrassed.
Watching her retreat, Adeline narrowed her eyes. Seeing Stella leave, Violet couldn't help but laugh. "The illustrious Mrs. Foster left so dejectedly. I thought she was better than that."
Adeline took a sip of her coffee. "What do you think?"
"Stella's right; she probably isn't your sister." Violet got serious. "Based on my years of plastic surgery experience, Stella's face is artificial."
Adeline furrowed her brow. "Are you sure?"
Violet nodded. "Quite sure. I've only seen her from a distance before, never up close like today."
"Thanks to you, I have the chance to observe this legendary Mrs. Foster up close."
"Her face is definitely altered. And the range of alterations is quite extensive."
With that, Violet put down her cup, took out paper and a pen from her bag, and began sketching for Adeline. "She must be from a wealthy family. The plastic surgery is so perfect that it's undetectable to non-professionals."
As Violet spoke, she sketched on the paper. After a while, Violet handed the finished drawing to Adeline. "These are the areas I've identified where she's had work done."
"Just from what I've seen, there are over a dozen."
"There are probably many more areas on her face that I haven't noticed have been altered."
Finally, Violet concluded, "These surgeries can essentially change a person's face into someone else's."
"Based on the extent of her surgeries and recovery, I think she must have started undergoing procedures at least four or five years ago."
Violet shuddered. "This Stella has been trying to impersonate you since five or six years ago."
"Terrifying." Adeline held the paper that Violet handed her. Although she had suspected this before, hearing Violet's analysis still shocked her.
Stella had been planning to impersonate her since five or six years ago, aiming to be with Jasper.
It's no wonder Stella seemed caught off guard by Lauren and Bennett's presence when she arrived at the Foster family.
After all, four or five years ago, everyone knew that Adeline Collins had died, but few knew that she was pregnant.
"Adeline." Violet noticed her staring blankly at the paper. "That incident happened six years ago, right?"
"Yeah," Adeline replied, still lost in thought.
"It's likely that Stella began considering plastic surgery not long after that,"Violet continued. "Giving up her identity to be with a man, completely transforming into someone else—that kind of obsession is scary."
Violet glanced at Adeline. "Did you have such a paranoid woman around you when you were with Jasper?"
Adeline paused, a name flashing through her mind—Evelyn. When she married Jasper, Evelyn had vowed never to marry and even plotted to kill her. Moreover, during their time in Neon City...
The deceased Evelyn was likely just a puppet. Thinking about this, Adeline quickly took out her phone. After searching for a while, she found the photo Violet had sent her before, which was Evelyn, who had secretly undergone plastic surgery in Radiance Springs three years ago.
"Take a look." Adeline placed the photo in front of Violet. "Could a woman who looked like this three years ago transform into someone like Stella now?"
"It's very possible!" Violet clapped her thigh. "No wonder I found this photo of Evelyn familiar before!"
Adeline let out a sigh of relief. If Stella were indeed Evelyn, everything would fall into place., including why Evelyn from Neon City listened to Stella so obediently, why Morris and the entire Quinn family targeted Adeline, and why Stella had targeted her and her children so fiercely upon returning to Radiance Springs, even trying to get Daniel imprisoned.
Maybe Evelyn was just angry because Morris had been imprisoned and wanted Daniel to suffer the same fate.
Thinking about this, Adeline glanced at Violet. "Are you sure?"
Violet furrowed her brow. "Not entirely. Although it's entirely possible for the person in this photo to become the Stella we see now because many of the areas where surgery was done overlap. "However, relying solely on a photo and my observations, we can only speculate, not confirm."
After saying that, Violet returned the photo to Adeline. "If Stella really is Evelyn, you might need to be careful."
Adeline closed her eyes, silently nodding.
Throughout the afternoon, Adeline and Violet analyzed the similarities between Stella and Evelyn in the coffee shop. The more they analyzed, the more chaotic Adeline's heart became. She had always felt a conflict with Stella, but it had never seemed irreconcilable. As long as she had Jasper's child, she could secretly take the child and leave. Whatever happened between Jasper and Stella wouldn't concern her.
However, if Stella were indeed Evelyn, it would be a whole different story. Combined with the downfall of the Quinn family in Neon City, Stella might have transferred all her hatred onto her and her children.
Adeline didn't mind. But what about Bennett and Lauren? As smart as they were, they were only six-year-old children. Moreover, Stella was their nominal mother. If Stella really stopped working at the Foster Group, how would Adeline protect them?
Just as Adeline's mind was in turmoil, Jasper called. "Stella and I agreed that with the recent events, Bennett and Lauren should spend more time with you. But since things have settled now, tonight is the last night. Starting tomorrow, the kids will move back to Blue Bay."
