Chapter 671 Final Flicker Before the End
Bennett's sudden words stunned both Adeline and Jasper.
After a moment, Adeline walked over, crouched down, and looked at Bennett, who was sitting in a small wheelchair, his legs still not fully recovered. "Are you sure you want to help find her?"
Adeline knew that Bennett, having spent so much time with Molly, was familiar with all of her hiding spots.
However, the doctor who had been treating Bennett's mental health had mentioned that Bennett had endured a lot of psychological abuse from Molly.
To help him recover quickly, it was best to keep him away from anything related to Molly.
Only by avoiding contact with anything related to Molly could he gradually forget those painful memories.
Forgetting those memories would allow him to maintain a good mood and eventually regain his lost memories.
So, Adeline had been avoiding any contact between Bennett and anything related to Molly.
But now, he was stepping up on his own.
"I'm sure." Bennett looked at Adeline seriously and nodded firmly. "Even though I don't remember much from before, Blake and Lauren said that Great-grandmother was very good to me. They love Great-grandmother so much, so I don't want them to be sad."
With great effort, Bennett managed to squeeze out a bright smile on his pale face. "I used to cause trouble for the family because of Molly. This time, it's my turn to step up and do something to help everyone. Mom, please let me go."
Bennett's words warmed Adeline's heart as she sighed, stood up, and let Jasper take him away.
It was no easy task to find Molly's previous hideouts, and neither she nor Jasper felt comfortable letting Bennett go alone with the bodyguards.
Adeline recently injured, wasn't in the best physical condition.
After discussion, they decided that Jasper would take Bennett to find the antidote.
Adeline would stay behind with Blake and Lauren to keep Lily company.
With their roles clearly defined, Jasper took Bennett and Ryan and left.
Outside the hospital room, Tim and Tom stood guard.
After hearing that Jasper had taken Bennett to find the antidote, Lily sighed and said, "I was ready to die at any moment, so why go through all this trouble? A few more days of life won't make a difference to me. It's been so many years... I should go see them."
Her husband, daughter, and her favorite daughter-in-law, Patricia.
Lauren held on Lily's hand, "But I want Great-grandmother to stay with me a little longer."
Lily raised her hand to gently rub Lauren's head. "Sweetie, why don't you and Blake go outside with Tim and Tom to get Great-grandmother some ice cream?"
Lauren was taken aback. "Great-grandmother, why do you suddenly want ice cream?"
The weather was already turning cold with the arrival of fall.
"Because when Great-grandfather and I were dating, he used to buy me ice cream."
Lauren paused, then nodded firmly. "Alright! We will find the best ice cream for you!"
With that, Lauren lifted her dress and quickly ran out.
The hospital room door closed.
Now, only Adeline and Lily were left in the room.
Lily watched the two little ones leave through the glass door and sighed deeply. "From now on, Jasper and the three kids are all in your hands."
Adeline bit her lip, holding back her tears. "Grandma, don't say that. You'll get better."
Meanwhile, Bennett led Jasper's team around Radiance Springs several times.
From the Phoebe family's old abandoned factory outside the city to the basement in the city center and several hidden rooms in five-star hotels.
All were remnants of the Phoebe family's influence and buildings.
Because of Lily, Jasper had never thought of dealing with the Phoebe family and had no idea they still had so many remnants in Radiance Springs.
These people and buildings had become Molly's shield after she returned to Radiance Springs.
No wonder his people and Mia's people had been unable to find her hideout.
Fortunately, Bennett remembered almost all of her hideouts clearly.
After two hours, the team found nearly thirty bottles of diluted antidote in these dozen.
According to Dr. Sharon, these antidote could at least keep Lily going for another six months.
On the way back to the hospital, Jasper held these carefully, as if it were a priceless treasure.
If he could extend Lily's life by six months, he might find a new treatment method during that time!
The car soon arrived at the hospital.
Jasper got out, holding the box, and immediately ran into Nathan, who was leading a group of reporters into the hospital.
Jasper narrowed. "What are you doing?"
Nathan hadn't expected to run into Jasper at this moment.
He continued ushering the reporters inside, chuckling. "There were rumors online that Mother was at death's door. I just got word that Dr. Reed managed to save her, and she's looking much better. I think it's just a temporary improvement, so I wanted the reporters to capture her current state before she passes. Otherwise, once she's gone, there won't be another chance!"
Jasper's brow furrowed, and he stepped inside with the box. "Ryan, don't let them upstairs!"
With that, Jasper pressed the elevator button.
When the doors opened, a tall, thin man in black, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and carrying a box, stepped out.
The man in black had a strong medicinal smell, which was quite unpleasant.
As Jasper glanced at the man, their eyes met.
After a moment, the man in black walked past Jasper and left.
The man said to Jasper, "Goodbye."
Jasper found it odd, but his mind was focused on the box and Lily's condition, so he didn't pay much attention.
As the elevator doors closed, his phone rang. It was Adeline calling.
But the call was cut off after just one ring.
Jasper frowned but didn't call back. When the elevator reached the floor of Lily's room, he went straight there.
Outside the room, it was eerily quiet. Tim and Tom were nowhere to be seen.
The hallway smelled of blood.
Jasper's brow furrowed deeply as a sense of foreboding rose within him.
He hurried over and pushed open Lily's room door.
The sight and smell of blood hit him immediately.
