Chapter 695 She Wants to Go Home

Hearing Brandon's voice, Adeline felt a pang of guilt deep in her heart.

Even now, Brandon was thinking about her.

And she didn't even know about his car accident.

Sensing that the person behind him had been silent for a while, Brandon frowned and turned around, irritated.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

As soon as he turned, Brandon's eyes widened when he saw Adeline standing there.

Seeing his shocked expression, Adeline stepped forward and smiled at him. "Brandon, I'm back."

Brandon was silent for a moment, then spoke helplessly, "I even called you specifically to tell you to run away, and you..."

He sighed, his voice tinged with regret.

"Why didn't you escape? If they catch you, they'll force you to marry me. I'm a cripple now. I don't even have the ability to send you away."

Brandon's words made Adeline's heart ache as if it were being squeezed by an invisible hand.

She bit her lip and lowered her voice. "I came back willingly."

Adeline sighed and glanced at Brandon's legs, "You've ended up like this, I couldn't not come back to see you and take care of you."

Brandon's expression softened, "What about Jasper..."

As Adeline turned to pour Brandon a glass of water, she smiled faintly. "He'll understand."

After everything they've been through, Jasper had changed.

In the past, he would get angry and jealous if Sebastian even got a little too close to her.

But just this morning, he had asked her to see Sebastian off alone, to give him some final comfort.

Adeline knew that Jasper was very clear that she was his, and no one could take her away, so he wasn't as easily jealous anymore.

If he could treat Sebastian like that, he certainly wouldn't be jealous of Brandon, who had once saved her life and helped take care of their three children.

But no matter what, she had to find a way to contact Jasper as soon as possible.

Handing the glass of water to Brandon, Adeline took a deep breath and lowered her voice to ask.

"Brandon, can I borrow your phone? Randy threw mine away."

Brandon held the glass, a flash of anger crossing his face.

"That Randy! How dare he break your phone? You're a guest of the Torres family, not a prisoner!"

With that, Brandon took out his phone and handed it to Adeline. "Do you remember Jasper's number?"

Adeline nodded and turned to dial the number on Brandon's phone.

But to her surprise, as soon as the call connected, Randy's arrogant laughter came through the line. "Adeline, are you trying to contact your Mr. Foster again? I knew that useless Brandon would lend you his phone without a second thought, so I tampered with it! Any signal related to Radiance Springs will automatically connect to me. Give it up!"

Adeline gripped the phone tightly, unable to contain her anger.

"Randy, I just want to let Jasper know I'm safe so he won't worry about me! If he comes to Oceancrest City and clashes with the Torres family, can you handle the consequences?"

Randy's laughter grew louder on the other end of the line.

"Adeline, you overestimate your importance. Jasper would clash with the Torres family? For you?"

His voice was dripping with arrogance."Don't kid yourself! You're just a woman. To a successful man, women are replaceable! Your Jasper is no exception!"

With that, he hung up the phone.

Adeline bit her lip, her hands gripping the phone tightly.

Seeing that she had finished the call, Brandon frowned and wheeled himself over, asking quietly, "Did you get through?"

Adeline shook her head. She knew the Torres family was heavily guarded, so she couldn't escape.

And she couldn't contact Jasper in Radiance Springs.

She thought of Linda and David.

They were in Neon City, and she could definitely reach them by phone.

But her phone was gone, and she couldn't remember their exact numbers.

"It's okay."

Seeing her anxious expression, Brandon gently took her hand, "We can find the contact number for David's company in Neon City and call directly."

Adeline thought this was a good idea and quickly found the number for David's hotel in Neon City and called.

But the front desk staff couldn't reach David.

Adeline had to leave a message for the front desk to pass on to David: [Tell Jasper that Brandon is seriously injured, and I've been brought back by the Torres family to take care of him. My phone is broken, and the signal here is bad, so he shouldn't try to contact me. Also, tell him not to be impulsive and not to come rescue me. I'll find a way to come home once Brandon's condition stabilizes.]

The front desk staff noted down everything Adeline said and promised to pass it on to David.

But as soon as the call ended, the front desk staff put the note with Adeline's message in a corner.

"Mr. Thompson is dealing with a breakup and drinking every day. He doesn't have time to be a messenger."

The note slipped off the counter and fell underneath it.

After hanging up the call to David's hotel, Adeline finally relaxed.

David was a reliable friend, and he would definitely deliver the message.

With the peace of mind that came from sending her message, a servant brought in dinner.

Adeline volunteered to help Brandon with his meal.

Sitting in his wheelchair, Brandon couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm just paralyzed from the waist down, not completely helpless."

Adeline shook her head. "When I was injured before, you took care of me like this. I owe you, and I want to repay you."

Adeline's words made Brandon's body stiffen.

After a moment, he smiled self-deprecatingly. "Fine. Repay all the kindness I've shown you, so you can return to Jasper without any guilt."

Adeline fell silent, suddenly unsure of what to say.

"Brandon, I'm sorry."

Brandon gave a bitter smile and said nothing, quietly letting her feed him.

Radiance Springs.

Just as he was about to board the plane, Jasper received a call from David.

"Jasper."

David's voice on the other end was slurred with the signs of drunkenness.

"The front desk at one of our hotels just got a call from Oceancrest City. It was Adeline who asked me to pass on a message."

Jasper frowned, "What did she say?"

David glanced at the hastily written note from the front desk staff:

"She said she's injured, her phone is broken, and she wants you to go to Oceancrest City to rescue her. She wants to come home."
