Chapter 232 Beating a Woman Isn't Something to Be Proud of.

Adeline hung up Blake's call, hesitating for a while before finally mustering up courage to go to the hospital.

Jasper was right.

David did indeed protect Linda very well.

Even when she wanted to see Linda, the guards had to report layer by layer. Only after his instructions did they dare to let her in.

When she arrived at Linda's ward, Linda was being helped down from the bed by Lyndon.

Seeing Adeline, Linda's eyes paused for a moment. Then she smiled lightly at her. "You came just in time."

Linda smiled as she sat in the wheelchair. "Just now, David said they're transferring me to another place tomorrow. I want to go home and pack some things to bring over."

After saying that, she looked at Adeline indifferently. "Since you're here, accompany me. I don't want to burden my father at this age."

Adeline pursed her lips, silently walking over before taking the wheelchair from Lyndon. "Alright."

She pushed Linda out of the ward, took the elevator, and went downstairs.

A black Cayenne was parked there.

In front of it, David was elegantly leaning against the hood and smoking.

When they arrived, he extinguished his cigarette. He walked to the wheelchair, lifted Linda up before putting her in the back seat. Then, he skillfully folded the wheelchair.

Adeline stood in place, watching his skilled moves. She smirked and said, "I didn't expect you to do these things yourself."

David closed the trunk and glanced at her coldly. "I've had a rough life. I did everything before joining the gang."

After speaking, he got into the driver's seat directly.

It seemed like he was going to be their driver, leaving Adeline somewhat surprised.

A person like David was… Actually personally escorting Linda?

Watching him drive away, she finally believed Jasper's words that David would indeed protect Linda well.

Silence filled the journey.

When Adeline brought Linda to the villa, it was eerily quiet inside.

Initially, she thought Linda was just returning to get some clothes and personal items.

But what Adeline didn't expect was...

As Linda packed her belongings, she carefully placed her marriage album with Zavier into the suitcase.

Adeline watched her gentle movements, feeling a slight pang in her heart.

Linda's heart... She still had a soft spot for Zavier, didn't she?

Indeed, it was so.

From high school till now; Linda had liked Zavier for over a decade.

How could a person easily move on from feelings that lasted for so long?

Just like her feelings for Jasper...

Thinking of this, Adeline breathed deeply. She held Linda's hand. "Everything will pass."

Linda closed her eyes, nodding silently without a word.

After a while, when she pushed Linda out of the villa, a car was parked at the entrance.

It was Zavier's car.

The door opened, and out came Zavier, along with... a young and pretty woman.

Adeline's eyes widened, while disbelief was in Linda's eyes.

The woman walked over gently, linking arms with him. "Why are you here so late?"

He lightly kissed the woman's cheek. "I remember I left some valuable things here. Let's get them while Linda isn't home yet."

After speaking, they turned their heads and saw Adeline standing at the villa's entrance, with Linda in the wheelchair in front of her.

Zavier paused for a moment while Linda's face turned pale.

Meanwhile, the woman raised her eyebrows disdainfully.

"Darling, who are these two?"

"My ex-wife and her friend." Zavier frowned.

She glanced at Linda, her voice elongated. "So, she's the woman who's been defiled by several men and is no longer clean. She doesn't even look that good; those men really have no standards."

Adeline's hands tightly gripped the wheelchair's handles.

Linda raised her head, seemingly ignoring her words. She looked at Zavier, asking with a cold voice, "Who is she?"

Zavier furrowed his eyebrows, remaining silent.

Her voice grew louder but still cold. "I asked you, who is she?"

"I'm Zavier's girlfriend."

The woman chuckled lightly, leaning on him.

"But don't get me wrong; he hasn't cheated. We just confirmed our relationship today. Who told you to be so unreliable?"

Linda closed her eyes. "Zavier, are you mute?"

Zavier finally replied, sounding displeased. "Whether it's Serena saying it or I am, it's all the same, isn't it? She's my girlfriend; we just got together this afternoon."

"We divorced this morning, so you can't meddle in my affairs anymore."

Linda laughed coldly, tears streaming down her face as she laughed.

On the other hand, Adeline's fists clenched.

Zavier pursed his lips, leading the woman named Serena, who was striding into the villa.

As they passed by Linda, she instinctively reached out and grabbed his wrist.

However, Zavier coldly shook her off. "Linda, we're divorced. You're no longer worthy of me."

With that, he strode away, leaving her hand hanging in the air.

"Zavier!"

As he passed by Adeline, she breathed deeply, almost squeezing out his name from between her teeth.

Zavier furrowed his eyebrows. Before he could turn back, she punched his face directly.

She put all her strength into that one punch.

He staggered back, blood trickling from his nose.

"You're pretty strong." David, who had been watching, chuckled lightly. He dragged Linda's wheelchair aside and leaned against the wall arms-crossed, enjoying the show.

Linda furrowed her brows, anxiously glancing at him. "Aren't you going to help?"

He chuckled. "Help who? Your ex-husband or your friend?"

Linda hesitated for a bit, unsure how to respond.

Meanwhile, Zavier finally regained his senses amidst the pain.

Glaring at Adeline, he asked angrily, "Are you crazy?!"

"You're the crazy one!"

Adeline gritted her teeth, all the anger and pain she had felt throughout the day now bursting out.

She didn't know where she found the strength to punch him to the point he bled, but she knew one thing; he deserved it!

She clenched her hands into fists, her gaze fierce as she stared at him. "Linda has loved you for so many years! You, a poor student from a rural village, and she, the Phoebe family's only daughter."

She continued, "She overcame countless obstacles to choose to marry you, and after such a situation, you actually throw her aside! What kind of man are you?!"

With that, she delivered another fierce punch.

Zavier was forced back a few steps.

Serena was so frightened by her strength that she backed away.

On the other hand, Zavier wiped away the blood from his mouth, feeling a bit dizzy.

However, he still snorted. "Adeline, are you sure you want to go against me?"

After all, he was still a man. Even though he was a bit dizzy, a slender woman like Adeline was no match for him!

He wiped his blood and raised his hand, and aimed his palm toward Adeline.

She instinctively tried to dodge, but the slap came too quickly.

Thus, she bit her lip and raised her hand to protect her face, ready to take the hit. However, someone caught Zavier's hand.

A deep, familiar voice rang in her ear. "What is there to be proud of in hitting women?"
