Chapter 564 Who Is Really Being Too Much?

Since a bunch of friends were coming over, Adeline decided to throw the dinner party in the little garden behind Blue Bay.

When she first married Jasper, she dreamed of having friends over for a summer dinner in the garden, filled with laughter and chatter.

But back then, it was just a dream.

She was new to Radiance Springs, didn't know many people except Molly, and her life revolved around Jasper.

Jasper hated noise and crowds, so she didn't even dare to bring it up.

She was scared he'd think she was being rebellious.

But here she was, finally hosting her little party.

"You really didn't invite Jasper?"

Linda, munching on a small cake Adeline made, raised an eyebrow at her.

"Sure, Jasper sent you to a mental hospital and did a lot of messed-up stuff. But he did save Blake, even betraying his beloved Luna."

Linda asked, "Isn't it kinda rude not to invite him when you're celebrating?"

Violet rolled her eyes. "Are you serious? Jasper sent Adeline to a mental hospital, and she even lost a finger."

She added, "His good deeds don't cancel out the bad ones. Not inviting him is totally fair. Let's not talk about Jasper on a happy day!"

Violet always held a grudge against Jasper for his blind loyalty to Luna.

Linda exchanged a look with David and kept quiet. She felt bad for Adeline but thought Jasper might have his reasons.

Seeing Violet and Linda about to argue, Mia, who was playing games with Lauren and Blake, raised an eyebrow and pointed to an empty couple's seat nearby.

"Who's supposed to sit there?"

Adeline had carefully arranged the seating, leaving a spot for Lucia and her boyfriend.

Adeline smiled. "That's for Lucia and her boyfriend."

Mia knew Lucia. She used to work in the design department of the Foster Group, and Lucia was her boss.

Mia sighed. "Even Lucia has a boyfriend now, and I'm still single."

Seeing her dramatic expression, Adeline laughed and handed her a banana. "I'm single too."

Just then, Vikram came over with a fresh fruit platter.

Hearing Adeline's words, he couldn't help but tease, "If you give me a chance, then tonight neither of us will be single."

Everyone had a bit to drink, and as soon as Vikram said that, the women started cheering, urging Adeline to give Vikram a shot.

"So, Adeline, why not give it a shot?"

"Yeah, he's tall, handsome, and in great shape."

"Way better than that blind jerk Jasper, right?"

"Really?" A cold male voice cut through the chatter just as Violet finished speaking.

Everyone turned to look. The temperature in the garden seemed to drop a few degrees.

At the entrance stood two people. One was Lucia, looking nervous in a long dress. The other was Jasper, in a gray trench coat, looking cold and distant.

David glanced up and down at Jasper's icy demeanor.

Jasper even wore a trench coat to match Adeline's dinner party theme. But it seemed he showed up at the worst possible time.

Ethan quickly pulled the stiff Violet back to their couple's seat.

"Looks like I crashed the party," Jasper sneered, slowly making his way into the garden.

Adeline stood frozen, watching Jasper's dark expression as he approached, her brows knitting tightly. The friend Lucia mentioned bringing was actually Jasper!

The garden was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Finally, Lauren stood up with a smile. "Daddy's timing is always perfect."

Seeing Lauren's bright smile, the coldness in Jasper's eyes softened a bit.

He smiled, walked over to Lauren, and sat down with her in his arms. "I'm just here to see my kids and grab a bite."

He continued, "Go on, don't let me ruin Ms. Wilson and Mr. Das's good time."

Adeline's face looked a bit sour while Vikram's face turned even more purple.

"Jasper..."

"I remember."

Jasper smiled, picking up a fork and feeding a piece of cake to Lauren.

"Mr. Das, you're heading back abroad soon, right? Planning a long-distance relationship?"

He looked up, his eyes sweeping over Adeline's pale face. "Ms. Wilson, you're really embracing your youth, huh? A long-distance relationship with a nineteen-year-old boy."

Adeline's hand clenched into a fist at her side. Suppressing her anger, she looked up at Jasper.

"Mr. Foster, as a friend of Lucia, you should know that guests shouldn't spoil the host's mood. You haven't even had a bite, and you're already making sarcastic remarks. Isn't that a bit too much?"

"Too much?"

Jasper looked up, his deep eyes filled with winter's chill, staring at Adeline's face.

"Ms. Wilson, a few days ago, you held my hand, saying you wouldn't let go even if you died. I really thought you had deep feelings for me."

He added, "In the end, you fainted, and I stayed by your bedside for two days."

"Now you're throwing a party to celebrate your new life, but I'm not on your guest list. Adeline, who's really being too much?" he asked her.
