Chapter 567 No More Chances

Blake's words left Adeline speechless. After a bit, she bit her lip and looked at him. "Besides Bennett, who else have you taught?"

He thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No one else."

Blake had always been a loner, and his past illness didn't help. Other than his younger siblings, he had no friends.

Lauren was into jewelry design with Adeline and didn't care about this stuff at all.

Whenever Blake came up with a new hacking code, he'd share it with Bennett.

Bennett wasn't really into the nitty-gritty of it, but he was kind and patient. He knew Blake needed someone to share with, so he always listened and learned.

Because of that, he got pretty good at the techniques Blake taught him.

"I don't think it's Bennett," Blake said.

Blake sighed. "Lauren and I are sure Bennett's out there somewhere. If he could reach out, he'd contact us first."

As Blake spoke, it seemed like he was trying to convince himself. "No, it can't be him."

He turned and walked to the villa's door, then looked back at Adeline.

"Mom, I need to rest. Aren't you going to rest?"

Adeline snapped out of it and smiled at Blake. "Yeah, I'm going now."

When she followed Blake back to the villa, Jasper had already taken Lauren to sleep in the guest room.

Not finding Lauren in her usual spot, she went to check the guest room.

She saw the two of them lying on the bed, hugging each other and sleeping.

Jasper was still in his usual black pants and white shirt, looking a bit stiff with his buttons undone.

Lauren was in her bunny pajamas, holding a carrot, sleeping soundly.

At that moment, Jasper was hugging the little girl tightly, one small hand relaxed and open, the other on Jasper's face, making the scene both funny and heartwarming.

Lauren was the one among the three kids who looked most like Jasper, and now it gave an indescribable feeling.

Adeline sighed, walked over quietly, adjusted Lauren's position, covered them both with a blanket, and closed the door.

Even though Jasper could be pretty heartless sometimes, she couldn't bring herself to disturb this rare moment of warmth.

After all, Lauren was the one among the three kids who most longed for a father.

Back in her room, Adeline took a bath, tried to calm herself, but couldn't sleep.

In her mind, she kept seeing Blake in the small garden, looking conflicted as he talked about Bennett.

He mentioned that recently, in matters related to Luna and Molly, there was always this hacker's help behind the scenes.

This hacker was using Blake's own tricks against him.

She remembered Bennett pretending to be Blake and teaming up with Luna, claiming she had mental issues.

She also recalled a few days ago when Luna was released, the bodyguard said it was Blake who took her away. But Blake was in Lily's hometown, Lillehammer, at that time.

If the bodyguard wasn't lying, then the person they saw that day must have been Bennett.

Adeline closed her eyes, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. She still couldn't accept that Bennett had been helping Molly all along.

Bennett just had amnesia, but his nature hadn't changed. Plus, Bennett had once seen her walking in the rain and offered to take her home.

When she was locked in the mental hospital, he had also contacted her.

If he had really turned into a complete villain, he wouldn't have done those things.

If he hadn't been corrupted by Luna, the hacker Blake encountered and the bodyguard's story couldn't be explained.

In the end, Adeline could only assume that someone from Molly's side tricked Bennett and stole his techniques.

The incident of Bennett accusing her of being mentally ill might have been unintentional, manipulated by someone.

She took a deep breath and decided to inquire the bodyguards tomorrow and check the hospital's surveillance footage.

She closed her eyes, forcing herself not to think about it anymore. Everything would have to wait until tomorrow.

The next morning.

When Lauren woke up, Jasper was still quietly sleeping. The morning sunlight shone through the curtains, bright and radiant.

In the sunlight, Lauren looked at Jasper's sleeping face, tracing the lines of his face with her fingertips.

Her fingers were cold and soft.

This unfamiliar sensation made Jasper frown and slowly open his eyes. The first thing he saw was Lauren's pretty little face.

He smiled and gently reached out and pinched her cheek.

"Did you sleep well?"

"Very well!"

Lauren smiled at him, then carefully withdrew her hand, "Before I recognized Daddy, I always envied other kids who could have their dads around."

After saying this, Lauren sighed. "If only I could keep Daddy around in the future!"

Waking up every morning to see Jasper's handsome face beside her would be so wonderful!

Jasper smiled. "If you like, Daddy will spend more time with you in the future."

Lauren sighed. "But there won't be many chances. Mommy might soon take Lauren and Blake away from Radiance Springs."

Thinking of this, Lauren felt a bit down.

"If you could try harder to make Mommy stay, that would be great."
